I was Wrong 3: Bathsheba

I was wrong about David and Bathsheba. I used to describe the situation as adultery, but a few years ago I realised that it was much darker than that. I'm very sorry for not communicating the story of David and Bathsheba properly in the past. How we view the story has implications for how we view cases of clergy abuse, and whether we should restore abusive clergy to leadership. Because I've taught the Bible publicly since 2005, I've made this series of 'I was wrong' videos to correct things I've mistakenly taught in the past. This was a good video. Two details that helped clue me into this earlier was not only does the text not say that Bathsheba was on her roof, but also that the Pool of Siloam seems to be located within clear line of sight of David's Palace on biblical maps, furthering the point that she was bathing for sake of religious devotion.
