I’m 90% sure most of us understand this but if you don’t: After ww2 ended, France, usa, uk and the Soviet union each took a chunk of Germany, Soviet union took a part called east Germany and the others ended up merging each others territories into what was called west Germany. Both territories were under different ideologies, west being capitalist (ruled by NATO) and east being communist (ruled by the Soviet Union) Many many East Germans hated the communism idea and between the years of 1945 and 1961, around 4million had moved to west Germany. Because the Soviet union saw this and worried that east Germany would fall, they started building a literal wall as seen in the short called the “Berlin wall” to reduce the amount of defections to west Germany. Many people had their families separated due to this and that’s why on the 9th November 1989 after civil unrest, the Berlin Wall fell and people were reunified with families they hadn’t seen in decades. Correct me if I’m wrong this is my general knowledge to it :)

You also forgot that the GDR leader I think said „you shall be able to travel to the west immediately without delay“ 1 hour after that the citizens of east Berlin walked to the wall and entered the dead zone where if anyone enters it he get shot my the Soviets but the soldiers where overwhelmed and let them through the citizens of West Berlin also teared down the wall on their side and now on the third of October we in Germany celebrate the „Tag der Deutschen Einheit“ which means Day of German unity

Great video but you should use the word keine for no in that context and not the word nein becouse nein is just used if you talk to someone directly or about something and you deny it (in German verneinen used for the word denying) for an example: Eng: No I haven't bought flowers Ger: Nein ich habe keine Blumen gekauft In that example you deny that you bought flowers the keine in this sentence doesn't exist in the English sentence in any way becouse it isnt needed there but in the German sentence it would sound wrong and is grammatically incorrect without the keine. so it is important to know what you use becouse in the German language many words can have other variants of it or words that have a similar meaning .😊Hope that helps Btw your videos are great, one of the best and smoothest countryball animations I've seen
This animation is beautiful, you immediately associate something sad/old, and the song is no longer new.. this song somehow distinguishes me by its character.. very smoothly done. As a person who read “what was the Berlin Wall?” I understand this but clearly I didn’t focus on reading but I know familys and friends are separated when the wall has been built, many Germans try to to climbed, escape, to West Germany because life is better there.
