I will never understand why people compare the Driver to Julian. It's Refn's style to let a movie speak to you without using words. Ryan Gosling's performances are completly different and so the characters are...
*spoiler* That was the pay off for me. I expected Gosling to come out the hero in some way, but when i saw the ending i realised he was just as bad as his mother and brother. Throughout the majority of the film i was cheering someone who was trying to avenge a child rapist/murderer. Although the cop commits a ton of pretty nasty violence he was essentially the good guy.
Nicolas is an artist with cinematography, the andy Warhol of this film generation, an eye of perspective which is hard to come by, drive was brilliant yet the places this film takes you is unknown, thank f**k we have someone that can take us somewhere unknown and challenge our perception only matched by an actor who can portray such things, my mind has surly been penetrated and I look forward to another, please make more Nicolas. Thanks.
I thought he was fucking with him about watching American romantic comedies but I guess it's possible. It would definitely make it impossible to accidentally steal something from a good original film if you limited yourself to only rewatching things that are unoriginal and not relevant to what you make films about. Still feels like he's fucking with me. I figured he'd list off some of the same director's and films that Mikkelsen's character (based on him) from Bleeder did.
This guy is either one of the most pretentious pseudo-artists I've ever seen, or he's doing some kind of personal experiment with the audience's perception and acceptance of him. His answers are weird and out of the left field, but in such an obvious, ham fisted way, it's almost hard to buy them as genuine.
och here we go. another pseudo intellectual who thinks i did not grasp the film subtext. i got it alright. all im saying is some scenes were unnecessarily drawn out. fast paced? if you cut all the long scenes you could tell the same story in 45 mins at most. dedicating the film to jodorowsky was an insult. not even on his level at all. had forgives a little more story and a little more subtext then it would be a much better film. its good dont get me wrong but a lot shy of "masterpiece". 3/5
He's strange, but I still like him.

Definitely, the cop is more like the driver hero in drive.
This guy is crazy smart.
i actually think its extremely fast paced. if you arent tuned into the same channel the movie is , it will pass you by.
This dude talks like he's easily aroused I can practically hear him say "oh it was a great pleasure working with Ryan" (biting lip)
This dude is a maniac. So great.
one of my favourite movies, cinematography was amazing, actors were brilliant, every scene was just great

Fits right in with all other tremendous genius directors & artists.

I Think he portraited his character through Ryan sir. In the film

Of all the interviews for this film, the director's has the least views. Disgrace.
This man is so cool ^^
