This is how I make an 108-bead mala necklace of kyanite and tiger eye gemstone beads. Mala literally means 'prayer' so when made into a necklace, you are making a garland of prayers. That's why malas are powerful manifesting tools, especially when made of a sacred number that's aligned with the creative force of the universe.
Traditionally, mala necklaces are knotted, but in this tutorial I use beading wire and crimp beads to secure it. Because I use heavy, high quality gemstone beads, I like the feel of beading wire better than traditional silk cord.

Thurs is the best video I've seen in how to make these! Thank you 📿
Thank you! 🙏 So happy you found it helpful! 💕
DIY Mystic So happy you decoded my typos 🤣
How does the wire hold up to nylon string?
Second question is how well do the crimps hold up to nylon knots?
I want to have the absolute most secure mala that i can get. Again nylon string vs wire vs crimps vs knots. Thank you in advance
Thank you so much for such a simple and easy to follow tutorial, thanks to you I was able to make my boss a mala bracelet with the intention that it will assist her. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge with us!
Delightful color combinations together ❤. Very calming and soothing colors. Very nice Mala.
Greetings! Question, what is a good source for the tassels?
i appreciate the attention to detail
This was awesome!!! Thank you so much for sharing. How do I find the metal cap you placed on the tassel? Is there possibly a search word I can use on etsy?
Greetings! You could likely find a jewelry bale (often also spelled bail) that you like if you are unable to find a tassel which has one already attached.
You're amazing!! This is gorgeous! Thank you SO much!
I need advice on finding a good bead source. do you have any advice?
thanks this is the best video ive seen ....so easy to make thank you God bless you xo
I'm so happy you found it helpful! ❤
Thank you for a very informative video.
I've been wondering how to make a secure mala with beading wire!
This is a great tutorial. Question, I thought there were 27 different colored beads instead of 12?
Beautiful, and so helpful. Thank you 🙏💕💕💕🇦🇺
Thank you for the lovely detailed DIY explanation! I just crafted along with you and I’m super proud of my creation!
Great tutorial. Thank you so much ❤
Thanks for this amazing video! What size seed/spacer beads are you using?
They look 1mm
Thank you for the AMAZING tutorial. I made mine following your steps and it turned out great! Could you please let me know which style of mala is this one?
Thank you.
Hi Sweety, you video is excellent, well made and cute and informative and funny!! Keep up the good work 🙌🏻🤩👌🏻
Thank you so much!
So beautiful! You made it look so easy!
May i ask how many mm is the beading wire please. Also what material is the beading wire.?
Beautiful ! - question thought where is a good spot to buy the gemstones / guru beads ?
Thank you! I got these beads from a gem trade show. But I found a huge selection of grade AAA beads at a decent price on Etsy.

Very nice tutorial, thanks for sharing 🕉️🙏
Great video. I thought malas must have the knots between each bead?
Made my 1st mala w this vid! Would add need the 6 large size 108 bead design board, 2mm tube crimp beads and a good lighted magnifying lamp. Fully inspect beads, before stringing one of my moonstones was dented. Also binder clip does not work as well as i would have liked mini bead bugs, clamp style works much better!
I love how my mala came out, didn’t use the same stones and didn’t order the 10mm beads BUT this was great to follow. Maybe next time audio with the captions?
Where do you get your materials from, any links?
Love this so much🙏🤍🧿 Where do you get to your beads ?
Love the video edits :) also thanks for a simple easy to understand video. Beautiful work
Thank you! 🥰
Thats stunning
is that opal on your first finger ?
Where did you get the tassel? The color is awesome.
Merci beaucoup 🤗 mais j'aurais purifié les pierres APRES avoir fait le mala
Where do you get your supplies from? Especially the grid you laid out your design on?
I purchased my beading supplies and bead board at Michael's and I know Hobby Lobby sells the same supplies too.
Beautiful piece!
Thank you!💖
Excellent work on this vide and loved the humor :-)
Thank you Joshua!
Wow its so beautiful
Thank you!
How did you know what number to Pick? (ex:8 tigers eye before changing the bead)
I love your video, thank you for sharing. What type of music is playing in the background?
Thank you! The music is contemporary new age.
Thank you for the lovely tutorial, I think I might make one for these for a friend of mine 💖 this will certainly be a huge help!
Do it, your friend will be forever grateful! I've made malas for my friends too.❤
@@DIYMystic She was so sad the other day, the Mala she bought didn't have the right number of beads in spite of being very beautiful... I don't know much about the meaning of it all, but I'm good with crafts and would like to see my friend happy with a good Mala😊🌸
Thats a beautiful mala 👌
Thank you!
Hello I came upon this video by accident but I loved it and I want to try it I have never done anything like this and I’d like some advice as where to buy beads and thank you in advance
Thank you! You can find beads at Michael's, Hobby Lobby or Joann Fabrics. Or you can find many grrat quality gemstone beads on Etsy
@@DIYMystic thank you very much I will make sure to check them all out and again thank you 😊
molto belo
grazie
Grazie!🙏❤
Lovely, what size crimp beads did you use please, and size crimp cover. Thanks
Thank you! The crimp tubes and cover are size 3. I wouldn't use anything smaller, but I would use a size 4 crimp cover next time.
Do you mean size 3 as in 3mm?
A great tutorial - thank you!
Thank you! 💖
BEAUTIFUL
Thank you! 💚
I really love your video and I love the tassel, can you share the place that you bought it?
Thank you! I purchased the tassel on Etsy years ago and the seller closed their shop. But there are a lot of similar ones on Etsy if you search, 'silk tassel.' Make sure to buy one WITHOUT a loop.
DIY Mystic thank you 😊
I don't show it in the video, but the tassel I use came without the silver bead cap and the shop I bought that from (on Ebay) is also closed. I bought the bead cap on Ebay because it's a lot cheaper than what I found on Etsy and you can buy in bulk (because most likely you'll never find it again!) If you want a similar bead cap like the one in my video search, 'bell flower bead cap with loop' and make sure the bell cap size is big enough to fit your tassel head.
...also, I suggest using a strong and clear-finish crafting glue like E6000 to glue the tassel and bead cap together (the same glue I use in my other videos.) E6000 brand in 'clear' is the best because it does not leave opaque and stringy residue like other brands. You can find the glue at any crafting supply store.
DIY Mystic thanks for the tips.
Well done, beautiful🙏
Thanks for your great video. I made a mala with tiger eye and blue aventurine beads. My guru bead is a red jasper elephant. Susan
❤❤ 🙌 Love it!
What size beads are you using for each type of bead?
Amazing video! Can’t wait to make mine ❤
your vid is sooooo cute thank you
Kyanite dissolves in water please make sure you’re not constantly getting those beads in water
GREAT JOB LOOKS GREAT
Thank you!
Nylon diameter?
That was beautiful!
So pretty!!💖
Thank you!🥰
Thank you! What wire did you use?
You're welcome! I used Beadalon's bead stringing wire, 0.18" in bright
beautiful!!!! would you share the sources of where to get such beads and tasal? thank you!!!
Thank you! I found the tassel on Etsy, but the seller no longer sells them. Search 'silk tassel' to find something similar. As for the beads, I got them from a gem trade show. But you can find a huge selection of grade AAA beads at a decent price on Etsy.

@@GaladRiel1512 🙏💖😊 I will!
can u male me one like that ?
What size crimp cover do you use?
I used 4mm crimp covers, I used Beadalon brand: amzn.to/3aLZbEi
@@DIYMystic thanks
Hola puedes traducir en español por favor
Hi! Can I use a higher strand count instead of 7? I just have 19 and 49.
Hello Antonio! Thank you for the comment...are you referring to the thickness of the wire? The gemstone beads I use in this tutorial can fit wire string as thick as 0.024 in/0.61mm. I always bring my wire string along when buying beads to make sure it'll fit. But if you're buying online you can ask the seller how big the bead holes are. Good luck!

Beautiful 🙏❤️
Where do u get the beads
I get mine from trade shows.
Hi, could you make me one please? I will pay you for it

Nice video and beautiful mala! I'm going to start making my own mala's once I have everything I need, I would love to know where to get a tassel like that with the decorative silver
Thank you! I got my tassel from Etsy, just search for "silk tassel" and make sure the tassel head is either the same size or smaller than your guru bead. You can also trim your tassel if you feel it's too long. I did that for the rose quartz mala video.
@@DIYMystic is the tassel and tassel head one piece? are you able to share the link?
@@imystic3838 I bought the tassel alone and I glued on the silver cap. I just checked; I'm sorry the Etsy seller no longer exists! =(
How long is the necklace when finished?
The mala length is 37" so it comes down 18.5" as a necklace (without the tassel). If you want a shorter mala necklace you can use 6mm beads or make a mala with a smaller bead count.
I use 81 beads in my Empath Protection Necklace video, which is (3) 9-bead segments less than 108. If you're concerned with preserving sacred integrity, I make a case in why 81 is just as sacred as 108. To see that necklace length go here (th-cam.com/video/0Um93IL7mM0/w-d-xo.html)
