    This is how I make an 108-bead mala necklace of kyanite and tiger eye gemstone beads. Mala literally means 'prayer' so when made into a necklace, you are making a garland of prayers. That's why malas are powerful manifesting tools, especially when made of a sacred number that's aligned with the creative force of the universe.
    Traditionally, mala necklaces are knotted, but in this tutorial I use beading wire and crimp beads to secure it. Because I use heavy, high quality gemstone beads, I like the feel of beading wire better than traditional silk cord.

    ✅ THINGS TO REMEMBER:
    --Cleanse or smudge your materials before you start crafting
    --If using foraged organic materials, send a prayer of gratitude to the area you got it from
    --Set the mood with soft music and lighting candles or incense
    --Always craft your mystical tools with love and respect
    --Don't craft if you're upset or overwhelmed, take a break, be patient with the process
    --When you're done, say a prayer or affirmation to your tool and start using it!

      How does the wire hold up to nylon string?
      Second question is how well do the crimps hold up to nylon knots?
      I want to have the absolute most secure mala that i can get. Again nylon string vs wire vs crimps vs knots. Thank you in advance

    Made my 1st mala w this vid! Would add need the 6 large size 108 bead design board, 2mm tube crimp beads and a good lighted magnifying lamp. Fully inspect beads, before stringing one of my moonstones was dented. Also binder clip does not work as well as i would have liked mini bead bugs, clamp style works much better!

    I really love your video and I love the tassel, can you share the place that you bought it?

    • @DIYMystic
      @DIYMystic  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! I purchased the tassel on Etsy years ago and the seller closed their shop. But there are a lot of similar ones on Etsy if you search, 'silk tassel.' Make sure to buy one WITHOUT a loop.

    • @puchungas3
      @puchungas3 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      DIY Mystic thank you 😊

    • @DIYMystic
      @DIYMystic  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't show it in the video, but the tassel I use came without the silver bead cap and the shop I bought that from (on Ebay) is also closed. I bought the bead cap on Ebay because it's a lot cheaper than what I found on Etsy and you can buy in bulk (because most likely you'll never find it again!) If you want a similar bead cap like the one in my video search, 'bell flower bead cap with loop' and make sure the bell cap size is big enough to fit your tassel head.

    • @DIYMystic
      @DIYMystic  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ...also, I suggest using a strong and clear-finish crafting glue like E6000 to glue the tassel and bead cap together (the same glue I use in my other videos.) E6000 brand in 'clear' is the best because it does not leave opaque and stringy residue like other brands. You can find the glue at any crafting supply store.

      Hello Antonio! Thank you for the comment...are you referring to the thickness of the wire? The gemstone beads I use in this tutorial can fit wire string as thick as 0.024 in/0.61mm. I always bring my wire string along when buying beads to make sure it'll fit. But if you're buying online you can ask the seller how big the bead holes are. Good luck!

    • @DIYMystic
      @DIYMystic  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The mala length is 37" so it comes down 18.5" as a necklace (without the tassel). If you want a shorter mala necklace you can use 6mm beads or make a mala with a smaller bead count.

    • @DIYMystic

      I use 81 beads in my Empath Protection Necklace video, which is (3) 9-bead segments less than 108. If you're concerned with preserving sacred integrity, I make a case in why 81 is just as sacred as 108. To see that necklace length go here (th-cam.com/video/0Um93IL7mM0/w-d-xo.html)
