Dear Shakti, thank your for your kind contribution and endorsement of the ancient Indian teachings. It's always good to hear other people's direct experience with the knowledge. Many blessings on your spiritual journey and stay in touch! Swathimaa
As someone who just received a mala as a gift, I have learned a lot through this video and feel better equipped to use it. I really appreciate your comment, Shakti, as I think it adds some credibility to the person in the video.
Dear friend. I understand that the name of your channel is a Hindu/Indian word and I am so sorry to say this! But it is the truth. I am a translator specialized in brand names. I admire your work but you should know that the pronunciation of the name of your channel and spoken by Spanish speaking peoples means crazy goat. The wonderful name of your channel in Spain and Latin American countries will sound extremely comical, rendering whatever you say or do lacking seriousness. I'm sorry, but someone has to advise you...
The using of the right hand, thumb and middle finger is a cultural thing from the hindu tradition. If you watch the tibetans, they use wich ever hand and finger they use. In India the left hand is used for washing your behind, and is therefore considered to be dirty since india doesn't really have soap at toilets in the same way as people might have elsewhere. The first fingers is the pointing finger, the accusing finger, so you don't use that finger for your mala. Of course there is the more esoteric perspective to it as well, but you can use your mala in which ever way you like it. You are using the mala to work on your self in the end, , remember that.
Broken soffa I grew up as Buddhism and were taught that the soul practice is Non-attachment. This vdo and how people practice Eastern culture now freaking stress me out. Meditation is all about being present, you can literally sit anywhere; empty handed and breathe.. mindfully. Your rules, believe and restrictions create overthinking, guilt, judgement and shame for doing it right or wrong. Mentally not unhealthy.. ugh
My best friend passed me down this beautiful Mala made from wood and it has engravings on each bead. I never sat down to prey and focus on myself but I have it somewhere I can see it everyday. Several months go by and he moves out of state, ~4 months later I start to feel like my life isn’t on track. I’m battling feeling alone and I feel like I’m neglecting something beautiful that was given to me so I’m going to take the time for myself and the energy that has been passed down to me. Thank you for this insight
I am so grateful to have found your video, your explanation on how to use Mala makes more sense to me now. I got my Mala many months ago I just started using it for mantra. The other day I totally used it wrong and today I was on TH-cam I found your video so inspiring. Thank you so much for the spiritual knowledge. Blessings
I am a practicing/believing wiccan and I really admire this way of meditating. Thanks for this video 😊 I do not have a mala, but I think I will look for one
I used to watch these vids five years ago with my (now ex) girlfriend. Needless to say, after our break up, I have distanced myself from these practices and lived these 5 years with a lot of hurt. Now I feel I have healed and wish to return to these beneficial practices. I will be using my mala that I made myself with the rudraksha seeds five years ago. However, my cynicism shadows me and I feel like I am fooling myself now. I am not a hindu, and I am very cynical of all religion, but I find that there is some degree of truth and benefit in every belief system. I respect and love this practice, and am looking forward to returning to it. Much love
Dear heart, thank you for sharing and my sincere apologies for only responding. First, I want to say thank you for sharing all this with me, I appreciate that your openness. And, I understand how you feel. I used to struggle with these feelings too, and I can see now that we often do so because there is one part of us always "playing it safe" by not truly trusting, not truly opening our heart to the Divine, not truly giving ourself to what they call "blind faith". There are a few things I want to say about that. First, we can't truly come to know the Divine if we fear that we may be fooled, or wrong, and respond in cynicism. We call that block "doubt" and that blocks is a real killer in spirituality. Because when you feed that block, it presents well and makes "sense" and it feels like a good protection but it will not allow us to ever know the truth. Because the truth is not known in the dark escape of our mind but it is known in our heart and soul. When we resort to doubt, we buy definition close our heart, and close the access to our soul consciousness. So, the difficulty is doing something that is the very thing we fear...to love. I know that maybe five years ago, your world became temporarily dark due to the pain of loving someone and that relationship ending. But I believe the last 5 years taught you that the hurt came you from you head, not your heart. It's the severing of attachments not the love, that hurts. Ironically, we can love without attachments, yet we die a little with our broken attachments. The joy and peace of love exist in us always, but it takes the courage to want to heal and open our hearts without judgment and fear that allows us to go beyond what our own limitations are. And in doing that we can expand our consciousness and experience beyond what we can perceive now. That Is true in love and true in spirituality. Many blessings on your spiritual journey.
@@swathimaa-shivaloka3027 I understand what you mean by "doubt as a safety mechanism". Indeed that appears to be my case =) I tell myself that my logic is only human, and insufficient, but then my doubt "guards" (blinds) me still. Also -- "it is the severing of attachments, not the love, that hurts" just wow. I will be thinking of this in the future. I will ponder upon the things you said. I will be coming back to read this message again whenever I feel like doubt is bothering me. Thank you for your message. It is incredible, very touching, and quite sincere. And the fact that you have taken the time and put in the effort to respond to someone from across the planet with such an in-depth and beautiful message??? It just means the world to me. I don't know how to show you my gratitude, really. I am forever thankful. I will involve you in my prayers. May you always meet with such kindness in life as that you have shown me. Much love
@@GazanfervonderBarut Truly, your kind words are more than enough. I'm so very happy that my message resonated with you so deeply and very grateful indeed for the connection and openness. Sending you love and blessings, Swathimaa
Lady, thank you so much for this video! I've been practicing mantras twice a day since June 23rd and didn't stop for a day. I feel like I could do this all life long. It has blessed me in ways I can't even explain. In the beginning, I had no mala or knowledge, just a desperate need to get help amidst all darkness and suffering. Since I purchased one, I use it following the non-index finger rule and it became so natural that I apply when I use a Christian rosary too. Thanks for clarifying the logic behind that. Your presence and posture are so amazing they immediately communicate bliss! May the Gods bless and keep you! Greetings from Brazil 🕉️
I was sent a mala from a friend for my birthday as I am getting in touch more with spirituality. This video was so helpful, I want to properly take care of it and use it respectfully , the explanations here were an amazing start.
I was just gifted a mala necklace and i am humbled. My mentor counselor believes it will help me to grow and change in the new circumstances that i am now facing. Thank you for your tutoring, i am absorbing as much as i can.
Well that’s the American way 💰. At the same time we have the freedom to buy from many vendors at different prices. We can find what’s affordable for us. And/or make out own. Which I believe is the best option.
I did some research and in most Hindu and yoga traditions, the fingers represent: Fire thumb, air index, space middle, ring earth, pinky water. What practice do you follow?
There is a lot of misinformation and confusion out there, so you have to be careful what you read and believe and what this is based on...Spirituality is not symbolic, it is about direct and authentic experience. This information I'm sharing is from the ancient spiritual tradition of the Divine Lineage including the masters Babaji, Sri Kaleshwar, Shirdi Sai Baba, Ramana Maharshi, Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Buddha, Jesus, Mother Mary, Adiskankaracharya etc , and it's based on the understanding that each of the five fingers is connected to one of the five cosmic element in Nature, and those elements are connected to Shiva, Nama Shivaya. Na-Ma Shi-Va-Ya. They are bija seed sounds from Mother Divine's Sri Chakra, the creation chakra. Na- earth - thumb, Ma-fire-index, Shi- Sky/askasha- middle finger, Va-water-ring finger and Ya-air-small finger. It's a bigger teaching but I hope this shortcut download gave some more understanding.
This helped me a lot. I carry a mala bracelet, and use it whenever I'm feeling disconnected and drained. I take good care of it and protect it. I made this mala, so I consider it a part of me. I hadn't meditated on my mala recently, and I knew I wasn't supposed to use my index finger, but I forgot how to use the middle finger instead, and never knew the lore behind not using the index finger. That was most helpful! My mala is white howlite, with silver disks every nine beads. The guru bead is also howlite, as is the bead leading to the tassel, which is a matching white with gray inclusions. It has been with me for several years, and it saw me safely through the pandemic. I would have been lost without it as a symbol of my place between Earth and Sky. Thank you again.
Hi Jenny, thank you for sharing that and how wonderful that you made a mala that carries so much personal meaning to you, and allows you to feel more connected with yourself and God. Keep up the positive energy! 💫
Anybody that tells you that there is a wrong way to meditate is sadly mistaken, do it your own way, make your meditations yours and the way it feels right to you.
I appreciate your thoughts, and so many people think that way and yet I totally disagree. If you play the piano, you need to follow the notes to play a song. If you bake a cake, you have to follow the recipe so it turns out a certain way. If you build a house, you need to follow construction plans. We have guidelines everywhere. The guidelines exist to create certain results. When I say "the wrong way", I'm referring to following guidelines that will ensure success and results in your process. Many people do things without knowledge and never progress. I'm talking about energy formulas that will create deep transformation if applied as guided. I see so many people in spiritual circles who just want to "do their own thing", mix and matching systems and traditions as if that gives them more. The irony is, it's a waste of time and just creates illusion circles. Pick a path, and follow it perfectly. That's the kind of discipline that leads to powerful transformation.
This is the best video I have seen thus far. I shall be receiving my mala beads soon and I am eager to use them in my daily practice! Thank you for this video 😗
I have live out of body for 2 year in meditation, but that was through meditation process, but now i am looking to go through mala. Mala is like a tool to raise your kundlini energy, and to raise at the level where you meet with supreme prower. Or we can call it in simple words to understand the higher friquency. One that that i want to add while enchanting mantra there is a strict rules that are bound with enchanting which no one tells. That is you can not react or give response to any persone while enchanting mantra using mala. You can call it a challenge if u wish. Try this u will find yourself with higher concentration and higher focused as you go ahead. And your bain visulation power will also increase. There are many other things. I am from mathura, india , from the birth place of lord krishna.
What do you mean cannot react to person? are you not usually alone when doing the mantra's? or do you mean in your mind, or literally when someone is next to you trying to get a reaction out of you?
The "right and Wrong way" is a cultural thing. The elemental finger correspondences also differ by culture or sect same goes for left or right hand. But as a basic rule none of it matters as long you're just doing it.
I'm sorry if this sounds shallow but you have beautiful hands and your nails are gorgeous! Thank you for this tutorial, I love learning, bit by bit, how to step into this religious practice.
This is all BRAND NEW to me so my amount of knowledge is pretty much nonexistent. I was actually hit by a car while riding my bicycle to work on June 25th and I'm still in the hospital because of it. But I came across a talisman online while lying in my hospital bed and ordered it because, for lack of a better way to explain it, I just felt this strong connection/feeling/energy/calling, whatever it may have been to the talisman and it ended up guiding me down this path of internet searches that resulted in chakras and mantras and mala beads, etc. I can't help but want to continue pursuing this path to wherever it may lead me and right now, it's taken me to your video. But I was trying to find out how to choose my mala beads and couldn't find a video after subscribing to your channel on how to do so. Would you by chance be able to assist me in my pursuit of this knowledge? Sorry for the long comment but thank you for any guidance you may be able to provide or even where to start to properly gain what I am seeking.
Hello dear, I'm so sorry to hear you were hurt in an accident but it appears the angels are watching over you, guiding you with their invisible touch. Please email us at ask@shivaloka-bali.com and we would be delighted to assist you. Also we are launching a powerful meditation course on Tuesday, please subscribe to our mailing list and perhaps join us on this course. With love, Swathimaa
I've been meditating for 3 years now and just purchased my first mala beads yesterday in Scottsdale at Silver and Sage. Logan the owner gave me a general brief introduction to them but this video I found much more informative. I did my first meditation this morning and I found myself to be very relaxed as I was counting the beads with the mantra almost seemed like I lost myself during my meditation. Thanks for the video and I'll be looking forward to your other ones.
Dear Jose, thank you so much for sharing this with us. This video was made with the heartful intent to inform, help and transform the meditation practice of sincere seekers like you. We will be sharing more videos on meditation very soon! Many blessings on your journey. Love, Swathimaa
I noticed you mentioned on your site that your malas are blessed, not sure if the mala set I purchased were blessed, if they were not what do you suggest?
Hi I’m Thomas from Philippines and I have been practicing buddhism for a while now. When I went to Singapore, i thought of buying Mala beeds and to be honest, i don’t know how to use it properly. By far, this video is as detailed as it is for people like me who are willing to know how to take care and respect this beautiful sacred object in their life. Thank you!
The way u were telling, so much knowing about chant with right direction and how to use mala in right manner, i m beginner n started with wrong way, thank u so much for useful video. God bless u.
That was very kool.i felt a time travel.i did i.v. drugs that sent self burn and infection to the tip of my left index finger.i now know a vibe i can follow to heal that blame flame..thank you.
Namaste! Might I add that I have been a Spiritual seeker for years now? Malas have always facinated me and I have collected many, many pairs over the years. That being said, this is THE BEST explanation about malas -- choosing them and using them that I have seen! Bravo! Well done!
Dear Van, Thank you so much for your feedback, I really appreciate and we're so happy this knowledge is resonating with people. This is just the beginning of a world of fascinating knowledge. Sending you many blessings on your journey. Swathimaa
Can you please throw some light on why we should not cross the Guru bead while chanting? Also if by mistake , we cross the Guru bead, what happens and if it is a negative result how to rectify it? Please help
thank you for this video. i am teaching my 8 year old son how to use his mala beads and how to meditate and he wanted me to leave you a comment about how much we liked this video after watching you! Thank you!
incredible video you've done, I started meditation for 3 years about 4 or 5 years back and stopped for 1 or 2 years, I wish id come across this back then as I have just this year again starting using meditation, the explanation for the mala buddha necklace and how to use it is amazing. I am now going to watch the other videos here as spirituality for me is key, mind, body, and soul wise, great for observing friends with there aura or new people. 🙏
I am not studied in your way so I can understand when you say there are do's and don'ts but being very Eclectic in my particular belief, and being Pagan, I think it is intent and energy put into something that makes it powerful or effective. I understand you wouldn't use your index finger and maybe most others as well but saying it is wrong isn't really truth. You could have said in my view it is wrong. From my point of view using the index finger, representing Fire, could be an important way of doing it depending on my intent and desired outcome. For me it wouldn't be "burning out" the power but using the element of Fire to help accomplish a goal. Very nice video and I learned a lot from it and thank you for your time and effort in making it. Blessed Be
Yes! Love this. "Ego" is not always bad. And even the assignation of particular elements to parts of the hand change depending on the tradition you are brought into.
Namaste We can write the mantra of our chosen deity 108 times daily in a diary. When writing we must do it meditatively. We must be completely absorbed in writing the name and remembering the deity without any worldly thoughts or distractions. Once the diary is completed we can keep it in any temple , offering it mentally to our chosen deity. This simple act then becomes Likhith Naam Japa Thanks
I found this video very informative. I just got a gift of mala beads and don't know how and where to start, but after watching this I feel ready. The part i need clarity on, is the words that you say when you holding the beads, please share them.
I don't understand how You blessing an object and placing you energy and intent on it helps me, if anything me getting anything from you is me putting my energy into your development
I have CMT muscular dystrophy which interferes with my fine motor coordination and finger movements. I drape the mala over my left middle finger and move the beads using my right thumb. (I'm right handed. So left handed do the opposite.) Saying this in the hopes it will help another with similar situation. I feel this is ok to use the mala this way because spirit knows intent.
Thank you so much for posting this video! I have just started creating a meditation space in my home that I am thrilled about --- I really am starting from square one --very thirsty for knowledge. This video is very helpful for beginners. Excellent job!
As per scriptures, thumb represents self, index finger for ego and other three fingers represents tamas, rajas, satva quality We don't use index finger because it's represen ts ego and we use other 4 fingers . It means the 3 gunas merges in Self during japa
this resonates. Thank you for sharing your view. wow. It is clearly deeply rooted in true yoga philosophy. Another take is Thumb - God Index Finger - ego Middle finger - mind Ring finger - body Pinky finger - soul And to connect God to mind, body and soul ego must remove itself during meditation.
wow this is so cool! thank you so much I bought a Mala 2 months ago and really had no idea how to use it I just thought it was a beautiful piece of jewelry - I was Completely drawn to my Mala but now I also know how to use it as I start to use mantras to create happiness, health, and wealth in my life
+T Roxy Love Dear Roxy, so happy that the video helped and inspired you to start a mantra meditation practice. Keep in touch, we'll be posting more videos also on meditation and other related subjects that you might find valuable. much love from Bali, Swathimaa
I've seen these being used without knotted strings and no tail thing at the end. I think they can be beneficial if you have a burning question in your mind and want to find an answer to, through repetition your telling your higher self to look within and find the answer. Sometimes the answer surfaces 6 months later.. these beads may help find answers quicker but the premise remains the same, your using a tool that helps you repeat a mantra or question you have about life.
Hello Dear One....Is it possible to receive protection from wicked entities out there? I'm in serious need of protection and I do mean serious need, because they do not regard my heart at all. Please advise if possible....
i thought about this finger thing for a while and then realized that it makes sense as to why the sky finger is also otherwise known as the bird. lol ephinanies already. lmao
i just received my japamala wristwrap and it has 216 beads. is it ok to use it. what is the the mantra you used in the beginning and what does it mean. thank you for the beautiful explanation on how to use and take care of your mala. my beads are quite small. do you have an online store to buy mala beads from you. I am from South Africa.
Great question. You want to sit and observe the energy and silence you have created with your practice. Once you feel you are ready to come back into the waking reality, you can conclude your practice with the Lokah samastha sukhino bhavantu mantra and Shanti Shanti, Shanti -hi
should you wear your mala on your wrist or neck? if its on the wrist which hand? should you have one mala, or can you have many malas to pray and meditate? many thanks for your vidoes. blessings and light.
Beautiful to hear you talk. I look forward to purchasing a Male. I am an Ayurvedic practitioner and honour the principle of the 5 elements and how they relate to energy and this spiritual practise of mantra meditation. Beautiful. I think this practice will be of great benefit to many people.
Hi Khyra, thank you for your feedback. I think you would very much enjoy the Five Elements meditation process we offer. We will start a new group soon.
Hello. I didn't al' theses details and it looks u know exactly what you are talking about but i might have a question. i ve researched on the topic of fingers and elements and it appears that fire is never the index finger. and besides the meanings of fingers are not always the same. But for sure the pointing finger is air in any situations i found. So i am confused. U may have an explaination. thanks 😊
Thank u ...also I wanted to know whether chanting affects the menstrual cycle.. I had done regular chanting last month and I got it 6 days before the due date this month.please Guide me for having regular periods
Hi Charmaine, glad it was helpful to you...when you're not using the mala, best to either wear it or to put it in a place there it is protected, not touching the ground. So inside a soft pouch, or on your altar, if you have one. Wishing you many blessings on your path, dear heart!
No, that is not true but I can explain the reason why someone would say that. In fact, it is highly recommended to wear your Japa mala because the energy of the mantra is transmitted to the beads and the Mala's energy grows and offers you additional protection circles. But also, when you wear a high vibrational object like a mantra meditation mala, there is the danger of someone touching your mala or it getting lost, so it is recommended to be very mindful of that.
Thank you for this video. It was very helpful in understanding how to use a mala. How do you activate the mala? I sell crystals and I just ordered several gemstone malas. I would like to activate them for my customers, if possible.
Namaskar, During my education in india they teached us : Thumb = fire Index = air Midde = space Ring = earth Pink = water But you are teaching something els, could you clarify? I would love to know the correct. Love the video & your way of explaining. X
Beautiful video ShivaLoka. Wonderful speaker! Here are a couple of topics I’d love to hear your take on: - Since you might be meditating on Siva: Ancient and modern references about leaving the body in Benares (from Matsya Purana to Ramakrishna - referenced in the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna) - Swami Sivananda’s teachings on purascharana / his publications. Om Namah Shivaya! Greetings from Canada!
Namaskar. 🙏 Sorry but, some aspects in your video are not correct. The Index finger stands for vayu / air. But it also stands for the ego. This is why it should not touch the mala. The thumb stands for agni / fire, the middle finger for akasha / space (sky / aether) the ring finger for prithvi / earth and the small finger for jala / water. So it's not right when you tell that the thumb is earth and Index fire. Hari hari bol. 🙌
I made a mala for myself, with the beads available(which was tigers eye,a quartz crystal),I made it with cotton string and tiger eye beads, how can I activate or bless it...
Wonderful thank you. I'm a beginner and my new mala's fringe fell off. I replaced it with my Isha charm of Jesus. Is this OK or should I consider replacing or restringing? thank you
@@SHIVALOKATV Thank ypu. I checked out your website, your pendants are awesome. I'm sure it feels awesome in the hand. Peace.
i just finished my yoga teacher training and we were given some rudraksha beads. i have been using them almost everyday since. i don't want to use them just as accessories so i have been trying to learn about them more. do you wear your mala beads? is their a right/wrong way to do it? i have read that you're not supposed to take it in the shower/to sleep but i've also read that it's good to keep it on even then. what's your take on it? thank you! this video has been informative!:)
Hi Apple, congrats on your yoga teacher training. Yes, absolutely wear them as much as possible if you are actively charging them with mantras. No wrong way to wear them, just remember to keep them protected from other people's touch and the ground. Rudraksha can get wet, no problem, just keep them out of the ocean. You can sleep with your beads. Hope that helps!
What if we accidentally go accross the guru bead ?. what does it mean ?, Please explain as you explain do not use the index finger to hold the beads. Thanks

When I roll the beads away from me, I'm directing energy.
When I roll the beads towards me, I'm drawing energy.
That's interesting. Would you direct energy to a person when you roll them away from you?
Can you do this to pray for another person? How would I do this? I want to pray for other people too.
This is perfect. I'm a Hindu from Bhaarat and all the points you stated align with the prescribed methods taught here.

I understand what you mean by "doubt as a safety mechanism".
Greetings from Brazil 🕉️
i'm so happy for you. keep going!
Very sweet
I was sent a mala from a friend for my birthday as I am getting in touch more with spirituality. This video was so helpful, I want to properly take care of it and use it respectfully , the explanations here were an amazing start.
I was just gifted a mala necklace and i am humbled. My mentor counselor believes it will help me to grow and change in the new circumstances that i am now facing. Thank you for your tutoring, i am absorbing as much as i can.
Your malas are indeed beautiful but very expensive. Spiritual tools should be within ordinary folks' reach.
You don't have to buy her malas if you don't want to. Find malas that you can afford. The price is not the point of this video.
You should buy them from the source, look up Tibetan malas and you’ll find some sites who source directly from tibet and for super cheap
Both exceptionally perfect points in one place!! Balance yes!
It is absurdly cheap in India tho
Well that’s the American way 💰. At the same time we have the freedom to buy from many vendors at different prices. We can find what’s affordable for us. And/or make out own. Which I believe is the best option.
I did some research and in most Hindu and yoga traditions, the fingers represent: Fire thumb, air index, space middle, ring earth, pinky water. What practice do you follow?
You're right. I was looking for this comment. Hopefully everyone else sees this.
Tiger Eye I honestly don’t think it matters
I also have it like that, when I started to learn mudras during my yoga teacher training, I had to learn which element is represented by which finger
@@SHIVALOKATV is this like a different school of yoga thought?
Very clear guidance, thank you 😊
Thank you, happy to hear this. 🙏📿
Came here because of Dr Joe Dispenza and Greg Braden talking about visualising and repetition to heal and improve my life.
I stumbled to this video and I am so happy I did! I learned alot and I cant wait to learn more. Namaste and love to you all!
This is the best video I have seen thus far. I shall be receiving my mala beads soon and I am eager to use them in my daily practice! Thank you for this video 😗
Thank you for your kind words, sending you many blessings on your spiritual journey.
@@SHIVALOKATV Thank you 🙏
I just made my own! I chose blue apatite and howlite beads
But as a basic rule none of it matters as long you're just doing it.
yes I was thinking she went to a different school of yoga or something.
I'm sorry if this sounds shallow but you have beautiful hands and your nails are gorgeous! Thank you for this tutorial, I love learning, bit by bit, how to step into this religious practice.
thank you for watching and blessing on your journey! 🙏📿
i like the way you talk, and video quality and everything, it's very rare when it's so perfect and where i like absolutely everything...
Thank you, dear heart.

I noticed you mentioned on your site that your malas are blessed, not sure if the mala set I purchased were blessed, if they were not what do you suggest?
if they aren't, meditate with your mala and a powerful mantra as much as possible.
Thank you for teaching some who is new to Mala how to use the the Mala.
Thank you for listening!
Thank you!

Namaste! Might I add that I have been a Spiritual seeker for years now? Malas have always facinated me and I have collected many, many pairs over the years. That being said, this is THE BEST explanation about malas -- choosing them and using them that I have seen! Bravo! Well done!

Thank you!
So sweet. Thank you so much, and please give my love to your son. He's a Beautiful soul. Many blessings on his meditation and life journey.
I liked your way of expression. really you are blessed with grace of lord shiva. i am very very happy now
incredible video you've done, I started meditation for 3 years about 4 or 5 years back and stopped for 1 or 2 years, I wish id come across this back then as I have just this year again starting using meditation, the explanation for the mala buddha necklace and how to use it is amazing. I am now going to watch the other videos here as spirituality for me is key, mind, body, and soul wise, great for observing friends with there aura or new people. 🙏
@Shadw Wolff, thank you for your kindness. Hope you get back into meditation soon. Now more important than ever before! Be well 🙏
I am not studied in your way so I can understand when you say there are do's and don'ts but being very Eclectic in my particular belief, and being Pagan, I think it is intent and energy put into something that makes it powerful or effective.
Thanks, Swatimaa for empowering us all the way with logic and reasoning behind well explained graphically and soothing background music.
it is my great pleasure, many blessings!
I bought a singing bowl but it came with these beads. Wasn't expecting to find it useful. Thanks$
I'm glad, thank you.
Namaste
We can write the mantra of our chosen deity 108 times daily in a diary. When writing we must do it meditatively. We must be completely absorbed in writing the name and remembering the deity without any worldly thoughts or distractions.
Once the diary is completed we can keep it in any temple , offering it mentally to our chosen deity.
This simple act then becomes Likhith Naam Japa
Thanks
thank you for sharing
Helpful video with clear explanations and no fluff. Thank you!
I found this video very informative. I just got a gift of mala beads and don't know how and where to start, but after watching this I feel ready. The part i need clarity on, is the words that you say when you holding the beads, please share them.
I'm glad this was helpful. I was just using a mantra Om Namah Shivaya. But you can use any mantra that you are meditating with.
This is absolutely fine. It is intention, and concentration, that you must have, and with those things, you are practicing correctly.
Thank you so much for posting this video! I have just started creating a meditation space in my home that I am thrilled about --- I really am starting from square one --very thirsty for knowledge. This video is very helpful for beginners. Excellent job!
Thank you, we love thirsty people! Stay tuned, new videos coming soon!
you don't have to know the elements to use it right, just know your index finger represents ego🤣
In Buddhism, you are supposed to become unattached to material items. Wouldn't caring too much for a Mala be counter towards that?
Shawn Lecrone No. The Mala beads are a tool to aid your spirituality, not a materialistic item like a 4K 60” tv, or a Rolex watch.
Thank you. I was just using my index finger so good thing I found this video
Thank you so much for this video. I’ve just received my first mala.
congrats! blessings on your meditation journey
me too, now I have to study all about it too... hard work 🤔😱😱😱😱
As per scriptures, thumb represents self, index finger for ego and other three fingers represents tamas, rajas, satva quality
We don't use index finger because it's represen ts ego and we use other 4 fingers . It means the 3 gunas merges in Self during japa
this resonates. Thank you for sharing your view. wow. It is clearly deeply rooted in true yoga philosophy.
Another take is
Thumb - God
Index Finger - ego
Middle finger - mind
Ring finger - body
Pinky finger - soul
And to connect God to mind, body and soul ego must remove itself during meditation.
wow this is so cool! thank you so much I bought a Mala 2 months ago and really had no idea how to use it I just thought it was a beautiful piece of jewelry - I was Completely drawn to my Mala but now I also know how to use it as I start to use mantras to create happiness, health, and wealth in my life
+T Roxy Love Dear Roxy, so happy that the video helped and inspired you to start a mantra meditation practice.
Great comment. Thank you so much for that insight. Really needed it.
What do we have to say every beads. How to use this for affirmations and practice gratitude
Came here after learning meditation techniques and purchasing my first Mala. It's made of red cord with soapstone skull beads and lotus seeds.
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge of malas! Now I understand, and hold it sacred. Namaste, thank you, gracias!🙌⭐

is it okay to wear all the time? what do you think about the “mini” malas?
You can wear it a lot, just not when you are swimming, exercising or sleeping. What is a mini mala?
Just my opinion here but I believe the intend in which you pray/chant is most important rather then the style.
I do believe that too
Thanks for this vid. Thank you.
You are a very attractive woman btw. ☺️
Wonderful vidéo!!! We Wait for more of it!! 😍
That painting, what's it called? I'd like to buy one. Its perfect
Can you even touch your mala with your pointer finger? Or is it only bad during meditation
i thought about this finger thing for a while and then realized that it makes sense as to why the sky finger is also otherwise known as the bird. lol ephinanies already. lmao
i just received my japamala wristwrap and it has 216 beads. is it ok to use it. what is the the mantra you used in the beginning and what does it mean. thank you for the beautiful explanation on how to use and take care of your mala. my beads are quite small. do you have an online store to buy mala beads from you. I am from South Africa.
This is purfect way to do mala
It's good for preliminary aspirants in divine path.bt it's very very basic thing.
basic of course, but many don't know so necessary to teach a good foundation to build on
Lovely video, lovely beads, lovely soul!
Thank you for your video. When you've completed your meditation, is there anything you say at the end of your mantra? 🙏
Great question. You want to sit and observe the energy and silence you have created with your practice. Once you feel you are ready to come back into the waking reality, you can conclude your practice with the Lokah samastha sukhino bhavantu mantra and Shanti Shanti, Shanti -hi
This video is just outstanding.May shiva flourishes within you 🙏

should you wear your mala on your wrist or neck? if its on the wrist which hand? should you have one mala, or can you have many malas to pray and meditate? many thanks for your vidoes. blessings and light.
U may have an explaination.
thanks 😊
I have chanted using the lotus seed mala using the index finger. Should I buy a new mala or can I use the same for properly chanting
You can break a coconut, and use same mala.
Thank u ...also I wanted to know whether chanting affects the menstrual cycle.. I had done regular chanting last month and I got it 6 days before the due date this month.please Guide me for having regular periods
Can I say my own affirmations? Or do I need to follow a protocol with mantras?
whatever floats your boat in the age of Aquarius😂😂
thank you im using a mala for the first time helped alot also let me know where to put my mala when Im not using it
Hi Charmaine, glad it was helpful to you...when you're not using the mala, best to either wear it or to put it in a place there it is protected, not touching the ground. So inside a soft pouch, or on your altar, if you have one. Wishing you many blessings on your path, dear heart!
+SHIVALOKA TV thank you so much ♡ much love and light your way
You are very welcome!
@@SHIVALOKATV what if my yoga mat is my altar?😂😂🤔
Thank you for the video. How lovely you are in Bali. What got you into what you do, I am so intrigued.
Is it true that the mala used for Jaap should not be used for wearing?
Namaskar,
During my education in india they teached us :
Thumb = fire
Index = air
Midde = space
Ring = earth
Pink = water
But you are teaching something els, could you clarify?
I would love to know the correct.
Love the video & your way of explaining.

Beautiful video ShivaLoka. Wonderful speaker!
Here are a couple of topics I’d love to hear your take on:
- Since you might be meditating on Siva: Ancient and modern references about leaving the body in Benares (from Matsya Purana to Ramakrishna - referenced in the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna)
- Swami Sivananda’s teachings on purascharana / his publications.
Om Namah Shivaya!
Greetings from Canada!
Very beautifully done. Thank you for this information. The wisdom and beauty of the divine shines in you. Namaste
Thank you, Danon. That is very kind. Many blessings
Thank you for mentioning NOT to use your pointing finger. The pointing finger is a direct link to ones Self and Ego.
I'm happy it helped and hope your meditations are giving you deep peace and clarity. 🙏📿
ur video guide is really helpful and quite inspiring and spiritual .. very holistic presentation thank you ..
thank you for your kind words, many blessings
She forgot to tell one thing, You should always keep your japa mala inside a clean cloth (not just outside).
Or wear it under your shirt when you are not using it so I can offer you protection energy.
Wonderful thank you. I'm a beginner and my new mala's fringe fell off. I replaced it with my Isha charm of Jesus. Is this OK or should I consider replacing or restringing? thank you
If the tassel fell off, no worries. A pendant of any divine soul your heart is open to is always a good thing.
@@SHIVALOKATV Thank ypu. I checked out your website, your pendants are awesome. i just finished my yoga teacher training and we were given some rudraksha beads. i have been using them almost everyday since. i don't want to use them just as accessories so i have been trying to learn about them more. do you wear your mala beads? is their a right/wrong way to do it? i have read that you're not supposed to take it in the shower/to sleep but i've also read that it's good to keep it on even then. what's your take on it? thank you! this video has been informative!:)
Thanks
it means you should start meditating again but in the right way and direction this time
