No Turbo 400 until 1965. A very nice car with the right options. Even has the rare purse holder! Needs the correct exhaust system installed. I had one same color and options. Got 7 MPG on ultra premium gas. 40,000? I guess I’m totally our of touch with values!
Sorry Craig but Jan is absolutely correct that the Turbo or AT 400 was the only transmission that was used. AT = Automatic Turbo. Both designations are used in most Forums and are interchangeable for what it’s worth. Oh! I can’ forget that Jan used the later terminology of a Turbo Hydro Matic 400
@@vladdracul694 Sorry Vlad but it is you who is wrong! Cadillac I believe used the Turbo 400 in 1964 but not the Riviera. In fact all 63-65 years used a different transmission. I’ve owned two 65’s and a 64.
Minor point.... I am 90% certain the transmission is what they called the “Superturbine 300” which was a huge improvement over the “Dynaflow” (not certain of the exact spelling). The Superturbine 300 was soon replaced by GM with the even better Turbo 400 transmission.
Beautiful 64 Riviera. Wildcat 425 wow! Fully loaded!

All 1964 Rivieras came equipped with the Superturbine 400.
LifeIsGood - Yes, “Superturbine 400” (my mistake “300”).
You are correct! 1963, 64’s and 65’s all used different transmissions. The Turbo 400’s came out on the 65’s not in 1964!
A beautiful car. Maybe GM's most outstanding design ever.
Buick cars on this ERA has most unique Personality and this car is why.
$50-60?
This car is #1 on my bucket list of cars. Number 2 being a 1992 Jeep Grand Wagoneer.
The same model once owned by Leonard Nimoy when he filmed the Star Trek TV series!
Lovely car but be forewarned these old Rivs are thirsty.
