    It is fascinating how all of a sudden the strokes of the characters make sense . All at once I saw the horizontal at the bottom as the ground and the vertical and crossing horizontal above as a tree growing from the ground ! Thank you for this I'll never forget this radical again !💡🙂

    I just have one word for you - you're an awsome teacher ! but please don't forget my request to make some videos on opposite word pairs , synonyms and antonyms.

    • @Queen中文
      @Queen中文  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi, I didn't forget! And I integrate this idea in recent episodes, sticking on one character, building words in slight difference meanings. 客,可,情,地 Opposite too. 堵 vs. 通. I understand you would like to have specific programs, and I keep experimenting different approaches to land on a variety of topics... needs some time! And time is luxury for a full time mom! thanks for your feedback and have a great Sunday!

    • @Sujoanghosh
      @Sujoanghosh 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Queen中文 Indeed! Nevertheless this concept of expanding vocabulary through hanzi radicals is super innovative so please keep it up. I just suggested the synonym and antonym as a filler, like one video entirely on synonym and antonym in between three or four videos of building words on the basis of radicals.
      So basically you can have two series one of the radicals and characters and another of thematic antonyms and synonyms. That will put your videos on red bull, on steroids.
      But I really can't stop appreciating your innate sense of teaching the toughest language with so much of eloquence and ease.Way to go !

    • @Queen中文
      @Queen中文  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@Sujoanghosh your concrete suggestion is soooo valuable! I appreciate that, can’t have enough of such, and I will find any chance to try out. There’s one old Chinese saying, which basically means “teaching and learning grow upon each other”.

    Thank you so much for these videos! The way you are able to explain some of the logic behind both character etymology and word constructions makes it much easier to remember the vocabulary.
    Coming from a Scandinavian language with lots of prefixes and compound nouns, understanding the "reasoning" behind words works much better than sound memorisation for me. And I find it very interesting when you notice similar conceptual constructions across different languages (like in your recent video where 光 functions similar to the old Germanic "bare-"). Please keep up the good work!
    I saw you write in another comment that technology might soon replace the need to learn languages - and while that is most certainly true for simply textual translation - learning a language is also (and maybe more importantly) about "knowing your way around the world" ie. understanding cultural/linguistic rules well enough to be able to share your ideas with people around you. Fortunately, I think your talent for communicating conceptual meanings won't be replaced by any machine for at least another few hundred years :)

    • @Queen中文
      @Queen中文  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Martin, your message touched me! I definitely share your opinion about the deeper meaning of learning language (I wrote similarly to another audience). I only speak Chinese English and German, but in these languages I find a lot things in common (word order in sentence build between German and Chinese are close), and prefixes in English and German, which you brought up as well, can be compared to radical (and some simple characters around which many words were made, another concept I’m working on). I was stone headed about “languages are just different” when I was young and struggled learning English, and now I’m older I see a million things (not just languages) more in common than their differences.

      @@Queen中文 Thank you for your response. The way our experience of learning a language evolves over a life is definitely fascinating. Especially as we grow old enough to learn to not worry too much about perfection. I will surely look forward to any future videos you have time to make!

    老师, honestly speaking that learning Chinese is equivalent to learning 3 languages for me.😅 Actually i learnt other languages in a relatively shorter time span and originally i had the same expectations with mandarin. But at least i am happy i made it this far.
    Now a days i am focused on learning 谚语 and 成语 which make up greater part of daily conversations in chinese dramas and series.
    持之以恒就是关键. 对了您的内容变得越来越好了😊我真的享受看您的视频.

      Hi! I bet you would be one of the first to watch 😉 I absolutely agree what you say about the challenges of learning Chinese (from your pair of shoes)! And I appreciate your long-term passion! Honestly, I don't think we need to learn language in the future, technology will eventually break the barrier and I am eager to embrace that day. For me, learning language is more about getting connected with other cultures, getting inspired by whatever knowledge comes along and during this journey, discovering oneself. And I am sooo happy to have brilliant audience with a great heart like you! I'm curious about Pakistan language, care to tell me pretty quick how's compared to Chinese or English?

      @@Queen中文 My native languages are Urdu ( quite similar to Hindi ) and Punjabi ( spoken majorly in the Province of Punjab and in India also). But Urdu is our national language and connects all the provinces (just like 普通话 ). Like Arabic and Persian, it is written from right to left and has many loan words from these languages, and in recent years, it has absorbed many words from English.
      Thanks for showing interest in my language. 😊

    • @Queen中文

      And the English words in Urdu, are they in English letters or just pronunciation in Urdu? Thanks for your brief and clear intro!

    • @josephstar6728
      @josephstar6728 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Queen中文 There are so many common English words like school, university, television, college, staff, sale, drama, hero, etc which are spoken the same as in English and also written in Urdu as they are. Even a layman uses these words and even sometimes it feels strange when some one says the urdu equivalent of these words. Urdu is also one of the 10 most spoken languages and both Hindi and Urdu are mutually intelligible but writing system is different as Urdu uses persian script and Hindi uses Sanskrit. I hope i could make it even clear.
      Our greeting is the same as in Arabic : Asslamu-Alaikum / Salam which means peace be upon you😊
