I have been studying for HSK 3 exam for more than two months. Yesterday i found this channel and I spent the whole day watching your videos. Thank you for this amazing and creative way of teaching, I learned a lot in one day. You deserve a million subscribers ❤
Once again- a great lesson from Jiayi, introducing all kind of complex words and interconnecting them in a structured and a fun way! Thank you for the hard and thoughtfull work!谢谢!🎉
@@QueenHanzi Hi 老师, just curious to know if people in Mainland China also study Traditional characters other than the Simplified characters or not? I usually like to watch old chinese cultural movies but mostly they use traditional characters and i have to converte them to Simplified.
@@QueenHanzi 🫡🫡🫡...And i have seen the use of some traditional characters in Simplified characters text also. For example places and persons names. Is my observation right or it's just done informally by those natives having command over both writing systems?
舟 I just looked at this character and suddenly it made sense , the shape of the boat , the horizontal line being the water , the vertical line being the rudder to steer the boat and the slanting line being the sail ! I had wondered for some time why this line was at an angle . It is so fascinating to look at the radicals and work out what is depicted . Thank you for this video and your lessons , best wishes from England .
Soooo glad you appreciating the characters like art. I put a boat imagine at the beginning of the video, where I see the horizontal line as the rudder and the two dots as people sitting inside. The interpretation is up to everyone. All three characters are graphical but 马and车would be easier to imagine in their old versions (traditional Chinese used today in Taiwan and Hongkong).
@@QueenHanzi Yes I see that way of looking at it from your description , I always think of the Character for horse as having its front leg off the ground 马 and the chariot is just such a fascinating historical invention that it forever changed the world ! It always helps me to try to visualise the character and your work is helping me recognise more radicals .
不好意思,老师,不是 “...the Chinese language is like use less characters as possible to describe as many things as possible”, 而是 “...the Chinese language uses as few characters as possible to describe as many things as possible”。 Chinese characters are a form of plural countable noun. Therefore, the word _few_ is used instead of 'less'.
Nice video, but it would be much better, if it had example sentences for all these words. Learning words without knowing how to use them in a sentence is useless.
Hi, thanks for your comments. usually I make sentences for words challenging to understand. Like in 心 episode where I gave several for 怠慢,可, and whenever necessary. In this video I assume the challenge for audiences is to realize that there are transportation related words with radicals in common, while grammar is relatively easy, and I don’t want to bore you with sentences 我骑车,你驾车,火车行驶,骑车奔驰 and so on. However, 飞船在轨道上航行 could be helpful to bring several new words in one. How is that?
@@QueenHanzi thank for your reply, i think sentences are crucial, and they don't have to be boring, even if short and easy :) I know this video focuses on certain radicals, but also think that example sentences/stories are more important than putting many words in one video. If you know the word, bit don't know how to use it, you'll immediately forget it. Good luck with your videos!
@@marksandsmith6778 the first season of my channel is very basic... but no one looked, I had to try other things. Then one day the radical got some views. As a tiny channel new starter, if I do things already done by million others, my videos won't appear on the list at all...
@@QueenHanzi I think this makes sense for TH-cam but it doesn't make sense for your whole teaching. Subscribers come and go, but if you are methodical and not simply following trends, you may have less followers but more learners. Unless, of course TH-cam is the only thing you want to do.

You are, by far, the best Chinese teacher that I have encountered! Thank you!
Thanks very interesting and informative 🎉

Excellent lesson, thank you for your hard work ❤
Excellent!
That was super interesting, thanks. This radical series is my most favorite. Please keep it coming❤
I know your level is above the content, which makes me super happy that you still watch them! 😊

We don't. But we can read at the same speed the traditional characters.😉
