    Uploaded a hotfix to fix the issue where leader packs and add-on packs could stop working correctly a few minutes after loading your save.

      kinggath I don't have console commands and the original holotape is not spawning in. What do I do?

      Uncheck the mod from your load order, also uncheck HUDFramework - because it sometimes interferes with startup. Load your game and make a save outside of the museum. Now check in Sim Settlements again and load that save - the tape should spawn where it belongs. Once you have the tape, load it in your pipboy to get the unlock message. Now save again, and re-enable HUDFramework.

    I'm sorry but did anyone else laugh as that pack brahmin just disappeared right as he said "changes and bug fixes" xD
    At any rate I'm just pleased with the fact that you can now run around and loot containers in the settlements and that they loot is decent. I'd honestly like to see that become a feature of the basic plots, but I can certainly see why that could present some problems.

      Download IDEK logistics stations and you can dump resources in any city, since they will all be connected in a very optimal way. Also, use salvage beacons from kinggath to salvage any junj you find in the wasteland.

      You could also use cheat terminal and spawn a bunch of cratfing items and just empty them into your storage for the settlers thered many options

    Been using Sim Settlements since before Industrial Revolution, and have always been impressed by the way the mod has been supported and updated. This is one of those mods that I would gladly pay money for. It's rare that you find such quality.

    Great work as usual Gath. Maybe the next update can be defense and warfare? Create an instant attack flare gun that initiates a tower defense mode? Synth infiltration? Blade Runner-esque settlement protection. Ala 5 Synths have infiltrated your world, hunt them down before innocent settlers/NPCs are killed/affects your cap intake!
    So many possibilities..
    Love what your doing. Keep the world of Fallout rich with possibilities.

      No need to ruffle ya jimmies, ma dude.
      Defense is a basic part of settlement building. Protecting the resources and caps you've collected is also important. Sim Settlements allows for martial plots, so I'm just asking for a proper use for them. Other mods are not taking advantage of sim settlements, its leader system, its plots, visitors, and the vanilla defense system is broken. I mean defense is what I think would make Sim Settlement's endgame. You build up an entire city, then what? Wouldn't you think that those attacking would also build up their efforts as well?
      Settlement Defense is really a logical conclusion considering the amount of development is happening enriching those settlements.

    This actually helped alot the new option helped my sanctuary stop crashing so I can vouch for this it lowered the performance hit on my pc thanks gath . really appreciate it .

    so t got the Thicket Excavations Settlement mod, which says compatible with sim sim settlements. and i thought what a great place to stick/dump Ada as a leader and automate the build. bummer, no city plan available. any plans for this. been too lazy to build my own....

    Also, my top wish (since I lack time and skills myself) is Pre-War/Hightech versions of city plans, to show those bastards at the Institute that they are not the only ones capable of it. Mabye that is the sole survivors "super power" having the memory/knowhow of technology before the war? Mabye a architect/structural engineer? Could be an expansion all on its own. Hopefully some creative modder is waiting for the coming city plan toolkit to make such a thing.

    Hi! I love your mod and the idea with city plans, but I have one problem. I placed a lot of useful shit in Sanctuary Hills, and then I found RotC addon...
    Can you make a small hotfix with "building safezone", where I can move most important buildings and settlers will not scrap my God-dammit deathclaw cages?

    Hey kinggath, I experienced a serious bug concerning City Leaders. If I put Deacon as the City Leader of whatever Settlement happens to be Mercer Safehouse, the Railroad Agents that spawn in this settlement will treat the Caretaker like a hostile and immediatly shoot him. I believe this is mainly because he isn't a settler of part of the Town. At least on my save, Caretaker is marked essential so he on his ass every now and then before getting back up just to be shot to shreds again.

    Kinda new to this. So is city pretty much like a settlement overhaul?

      A city is a settlement that can be completely built by NPCs. You basically let them take over the settlement and you just help them out with things - like donating supplies, setting up supply lines, or if you want - you can build things as well. The city can then level up in time and they will make massive upgrades to it.

      I'm not familiar with this issue. It sounds like the incompatibility with Vanilla Extensions though. If you aren't using that mod, could you report it with some screenshots on simsettlements.com?

    Will I be notified once the remote self destruct sequence has completed? And can I carry on with other objectives whilst it carries out the task? Having an issue with nothing being built at sunshine tidings so hopefully this will sort it.

      You should get a message when plots are all destroyed, but it's only a notification in the corner. 15 minutes is about as long as I've ever seen it take, and you do need to stay in the area. It's a good time for a sandwich break.

    Hey do I recently got into the sim settlement mods, including industrial and rise of the commonwealth. And everything seems to be working except that I can no longer do some of the minutemen radiant quests, specifically the ones where i gotta clear out a settlement and put down a recruitment beacon. I’ll put down the beacon and power it up, settlers come on in but the quest isn’t registering me having put down the beacon, is there a fix to this?

      If you save and reload that save it will instantly finish the quest if you have a beacon built.

      Be sure to update the core mod as well. If you're on PC, you usually have to update manually rather than use NMM - it tends to fail at updating large files.

      I'm trying to go to the exact point were you standing in video but it crashs right there. .. otherwise the tool only detects Red Rocket Station. .. so my savegame is doomed and I won't be able to go to Sanctuary again? -_-

    I just destroyed sanctuary yesterday because I couldnt go there for the last two weeks. All my companions are in red rocket chilling right now. I rebuilt sanctuary myself and had tons of fun.

    I have Finn leading starlight and about 10 ppl there but even though the ground floor is laid out, no one is building anything. I tried manually assigning them but there doesn't seem to be any plots. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug? I've also reset the city and tried using the vault dlc computer to have it find jobs for the ppl but it also says no jobs available.

    I had my game screw on me and had to start again. Do mods (such as one thats increase pop cap), scrapall, and logisitc station (mod for sim setllements) are these potential causes for crashes around sancutary/red rocket? disabled scrapp all and logistics, and so far no CTD on apporach to these settlements, and as allways brilliant mod!

      I quit using scrap mods - they seem to be really problematic, they definitely add a lot of excess load to your game. I can't speak to the logistics mod though, I haven't looked into how it runs to say one way or the other.

      Yeah i read around that anything which removes items which can not be scrapped normally, when the cells reset, can cause major issiues. but also could be what u mentioned in the vid as that fits the bill as well, as i got the conformation that the settlements were upgrading, and fast traveled and CTD. but hearing from yourself about these issiues makes me feel better! Looking forward to a new starlight! (which was my dump for companions :P )

    KingGath this mod is brilliant, having loads of fun with it. If someone could clarify for me though, I already assigned a leader to starlight thinking there was a city plan already in place, to find there wasn't so started building myself. Once I have updated the mod, will I need to load a save before assigning the leader or can I just pop to the desk and set a city plan resetting the settlement so I can build it up properly? Any help is welcome.

      The latter. It will destroy everything you have built but will work fine.

    I'm not sure if it is Sim Settlements, but ever since the update I can no longer pick where my followers are dismissed to. Any ideas?

      No, that's strange. If anything, Sim Settlements should just add another option to get your companions somewhere by allowing you to make them a leader of a settlement.

      Not likely. If we think of a particular item or two that could add a nice touch, we might do so - but even if we do those DLC won't ever be a requirement.

    Previously I would have to back into Sanctuary, keeping it out of my sight, then use full charges to destroy it as soon as I was inside the border. This "Remote" detonation is a very welcome idea. Thank you for adding it. :)
    Also, is there a way to assign a Global Default building plan to a plot type? I want Industrial Plots to default to the "IDEK's Logistical Station" plan so I don't have to keep dropping in and out of build mode as I'm christening new settlements.Thanks!

    I dont have the Remote Self Destruct Sequence option, only Start and Local even when near Sanctuary which I want to destroy.

      If you're on PC, you might have to do a manual install. NMM usually fails to overwrite large files.

      Well without manual install I managed to get the remote function to work but im almost as close as I can get to Sanctuary without crashing and its not listing it as a settlement I can destroy.

      It will probably crash your game eventually! The Starlight city plan can probably only go to level 1 on Xbox right now. We'll be releasing much simpler versions of the City Plans soon so that you can get them all to high level on Xbox.

    So if the starlight drive in needs optimization, does this mean you'll be taking full advantage of the spectacle island space, or will it need to be cut down? I realize this is a massive area, but I'm just curious about how the team can use that settlement location

      We haven't figured out how to tackle Spectacle yet - it's so big that even in vanilla it often breaks itself when you walk from one end to the other.

      Best of luck then! Ive seen lots of great stuff from this mod, only real issues I've seen lately come from optimization problems in game, and 2 other things 1.) The leader trait that makes gen 1 and 2 synths patrol your settlement remains even if the leader leaves the settlement or dies. 2.) Perhaps, especially for console users you and your team could consider a "lite" version. But anyway this mod is amazing and you're very responsive to all the comments and work very hard to make sim settlements a functional and fun mod keep up the great work!!

      You need HUD Framework and Settlement Menu Manager for it to work.

      If I remember correctly you need to install HudFramework for those to show up. Look it up on Nexus if you are on PC, I don't know about console. www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/20309 Also look up on his previous early videos he mentioned it there.

    2 questions. 1 will this new patch have any interference with the old one requiring me to start over on Xbox like last time? 2 is there anyway to lower the amount of npcs sponed with the new leader perks like the one vance has that spawns bos npcs. I have him in having man's ally and he's spawned so many bos npcs my Xbox can't handle it and it crashes every time I go there. Or is it something I'm doing wrong? Either way keep up the good work fucking love this mod.

      You shouldn't have to start over when you patch - though it's always hard to tell with Bethesda games. The save files can be sensitive. If you're concerned about it, your best off holding off. The BOS Npcs was a bug that is fixed with this version. There should never be more than a half dozen ally NPCs spawned.

    Does anyone know a fix for NMM not enabling mods over 50mbs? After I surpass about 25 mods I can no longer download mods over 50mbs.

      Personally, I only use NMM for its plugins tab - you can install mods manually and guarantee they are installed correctly this way. The process is pretty easy: simsettlements.com/web/wiki/index.php?title=Install#Manual_Installation

    thank you! its like i can think again! sanctuary will become safe to enter again (without cras.... iiii..... nnnnnnnnnnnnn..... ggggggggggggggg) on my xbox! it took me 25 mins to get from sanctuary's main gate to the house with the workbench.... then it crashed... etc. thank god our king and his team of merry men/ladies are on it!

    am running on a fx6100 and gtx970 and i get 12fps in lvl3 settlements. I would love to enjoy all the work you guys put in but it makes me dizzy at that fps.

      That CPU is bottlenecking that GPU hardcore.

    I can’t get my sanctuary to level 1! I have 6 settlers 10 food, 311 water, way over 999 power, 300 defense, 80 happiness, and 8 beds. I’ve gone and done so many quests and I’ve seen about 15-20 in game days. When I check the city manager desk it says 79%. I have donated 100% of the needed scrap so what do I do?? I’m on Xbox btw

      uituit baker no it’s not red I built so many generators that i have so much power lol. Also why isn’t 6 enough?

      6 settlers is why. You'll need to get a lot more.

      If you have HUDFramework, it will tell you in the lower left corner. I believe it's 22 in Sanctuary. (This is another reason we're building optimized versions - Xbox often can't support that many settlers at once)

    Hi guys nice mod thanks ! I have issue at starlight when I go close to this area my game always crash The city is lvl 1 or 2 Its sad.

      I am lvl 55 the game and mod work fine its just around this area and I hear a lot people have issue with this area and this mod. I make me completly stop playing anyway. I will try replay another time.

      NikolaiandCo It crashes every time for me now when I make a new sim settlement. Really annoying. Sim Settlements is my only mod, still crashing.

    man am I late to the party but I got sick of multiplayer games and in light of 2020 being a train wreck I've been modding the crap out of fallout. trying to get settlers to make a giant trading hub/ market at starlight

    Not a fan of CC, implementing content from it only punishes you if you don't get it, and rewards/incentivizes you if you do, regardless of how large/small it is. It has no place in Fallout 4, or Skyrim SE, and I'm quite disappointed you caved-in to that enterprising garbage. :/

      Kinggath means the released DLC's BEFORE Creation Club was started.... So in other words he means for example Far Harbor and Automatron. Those DLC's have a lot of assets and a lot of people bought those DLC's. It is not very likely Kinggath will take the content of CC and make it mandatory...

    My issues with Starlight is those peasants think they don't need food. 9 settlers and no food. They built defense and shops. About to mini nuke them and move on.
