For this Omaha dog training session we worked with a pair of big dogs, teaching 5 year-old Newfoundland Riley to stop overdrinking water and adding structure to meals so she doesnt take submissive 5 year-old St Bernard Daisy’s food.

This is fantastic. I have recuse who will literally drink water until she gets water poisoning (literally, I had to take her to the e-vet, twice). The only issue is I would have to physically pull her away from the water, stepping between her will not stop her.

How many times do we do this? Do we get up every time we hear the dog going to drink or just when we put the water down? How long should we wait to step in? 1 min or 10 seconds like in the video?

Also thanks for posting this! I have a rescue that drinks so much water and I couldn’t find anyone else who spoke to this issue.
