      @@AFragrantGlance Thank you! In your opinion which one is more wearable Aswad or shaghaf oud?

    • @AFragrantGlance
      @AFragrantGlance  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ToniaAlex13 This depends on what you like, and what kind of fragrances you vibe with. Both are extremely strong and potent, but one is a more gourmand oud (the gold one) while the other is a very typical middle eastern oudy fragrances (the black one). People around me seem to appreciate more the gold one cause the oud is covered in a thick sweet layer of praline and rose. Oud Aswad is in your face type of scent, dark smoky oudy scent with rose incense and spices, not a safe blind buy unless you know you like these types of scents. People around me seem to find this scents too strong.

    I just bought shaghaf oud and im in love, just love it so much, the only thing is it doesnt last much on me, and im a heavy sprayer but i have to reaply, so wich other arabian inexpensive fragrances can you recommend thats its similar or same vibe as shaghaf oud (smelling wise) (if would be great if its strong and longlasting)? Thank u so much! Ive seen so many videos but i dont want to blind buy.

    Hi @ Fragrant Glance I blind bought these two Swiss Arabian just this year 2023, I Got the two reformulated version with no Arabic name on it. The Shaghaf Oud Aswad, is dense and heavy on my nose, The first initial spray is quite pungent and I smell like a new leather, But the dry down on my skin is sweet and the rose just comes out and it lasted for a day until I take a shower! The Shaghaf Oud gold, reminds me of Sheikh Al Shuyuk, Its Caramelly, leathery, smokey and balsamic. They are both georgeous but my favorite is the Gold Shaghaf Oud and Sheikh Al Shuyuk. I love your videos I don't regret blind buying these perfumes, for 24 euro each or less from the online shop. By the way I'm a beginner of oud fragrance. More power to you! and keep on posting! • @AFragrantGlance
      @AFragrantGlance  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Which one should you get hmm, that's such a hard question, I love them both so much! They don't smell alike at all. Oud Aswad is a bit more masculine than Shaghaf Oud but it's still a unisex. If Shaghaf Oud is sweet dense thick, almost gourmand like, Oud Aswad is smoky, dry, heavy, and rose dominant, with oud and woody notes in the background. So I guess it depends what kind of fragrances you like in general. If you know you love Shaghaf Oud scent wise and performance wise, get again Shaghaf Oud. And when you want to try something a bit more middle eastern, get Oud Aswad (but this is very strong and very polarising). Hope it helped 🤗

Some people left comments under my videos telling me they absolutely love their Oud Aswad, others told me that Oud Aswad it too strong and it gives them headaches, so it really depends from person to person. If he liked Shaghaf Oud I think he will also like Sheikh al Shuyukh by Lattafa, that one has that middle eastern vibe but it's easier to wear. No way of testing this fragrance where I live, if I'm buying it its gonna be blind. How is the prominence of leather in this? Thanks always dear.

      @AFragrantGlance  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi dear, I'm so happy my recommendations have been working out for you!! ❤❤ Hmm I would say the rose and the incense are the most prominent to my nose, then the woody-oud touch and then the leather. But I really enjoy leather notes in general so my nose might not perceive it as strong as others that don't like leather might find it. As long as you enjoy incensy rosy fragrances most likely you'll enjoy this one. But if you're not sure better to not blind buy it, or best to ask other reviewers as well about the leather note and see what they say about it🤗

    • @AFragrantGlance
      @AFragrantGlance  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi ❤ Hmm with Oud Aswad is tricky, the rose in the opening is juicier than the one in Shaghaf Oud for sure, but then it quickly changes into rose scented incense that's burning, it will loose the juicyness and it will get drier. But to my nose the rose is more dominant here compared to Shaghaf Oud.

    • @AFragrantGlance
      @AFragrantGlance  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Alex, thank you for watching! ❤️ CDNI for women is mainly a dark and cold rose patchouli mix with slight spicy nuances while OA is a warm rose with spices, leather & incense. They're don't share the same earthy rose. CDNI is darker, thinner, more earthy, not as sweet and cleaner overall. The geranium in CDNI makes the rose smell like it has been freshly cut and the patchouli gives it an earhty grounding vibe, while the rose in Oud Aswad is more synthetic, sweeter, and fuller and it is followed by leathery incensy spicy nuances. CDNI for women is more elegant, mysterious, dark and simplistic while Oud Aswad is opulent, warm & incensy with much more going on, it can be a bit of a mess to the nose until you get used to it. CDNI is smells like a dark rose that's been freshly cut mixed with earthy nuances, while Oud Aswad once it dries down it smells like a rose scented incense stick that's burning 🌟

    • @AFragrantGlance
      @AFragrantGlance  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, the scent of oud can vary a lot. You have natural oud and synthetic oud, natural oud in fragrances is rare and very expensive, so most likely you will come across a lot of synthetic oud. From what I've experienced so far, oud has many nuances, some smell like wood, like more pungent woody notes, others smell medicinal, they have that disinfectant vibe to them, like the scent you would get from hospitals. Some smell like shit, those are your barnyard oud, while others smell like something that's very fermented. You can have them very strong in the opening, or you can have them in the background of a fragrance to support the other notes. Oud Aswad is very beautiful, very dark incensy fragrance with rose, and oud, if you enjoy the smell of incense you will enjoy this one a lot. The oud here is not that strong and it has a woody vibe to my nose. Hope it helped!

      @@archanakumari4548 From the way you described the fragrance you are looking for, the first one that came to my mind was Rose Wood by Ajmal, it is divine!! If you find it a great offer go for it, you will love it, smells like class and sophistication in a bottle, it smells like a classy boss lady. It's not too much to the point where it will bother people around you, but enough to make everyone ask you what are you wearing and to sniff you. It has a middle eastern vibe for sure but is balanced and doesn't lean too traditional to the point that you smell like attar. This one is timeless, it's bold and stands out, it's made for a confident woman. The oud has a woody vibe, not fermented, not medicinal. It is one of my most beloved fragrances that I have in my collection and so far I got great feedback from people who bought it based on my recommendation. I have a review for it on my channel, look it up. With Oud Aswad is tricky as some people love it some people don't like it and say that it gives them headaches, it's very potent, but to me this fragrance is stunning as well. But to sum it up I would advise you to go for Rose Wood by Ajmal if you want to invest a bit, if you are looking for more affordable options then Oud Mood by Lattafa (but the performance for this one is not great), or Opulent Musk by Lattafa, for these two I got great feedback as well and people seem to love them. (with Opulent Musk the opening is a bit challenging but only for 10 15 min). If you like very sweet fragrances and you don't have a sensitive nose then Shaghaf Oud (the gold one) by Swiss Arabian, this one is very loved in the community. In Shaghaf Oud you get a thick sweetness from the rose and the praline on a very oudy base, no spices to my nose. It's a linear fragrance, it won't transform on your skin, so from the moment you apply it until the drydown it will smell pretty much the same. I think you can wear this one at any age, but you have to be dressed a little bit more elegant. It's very dense and heavy.
