I tried several DAWs until I came across Studio one. IMO It is one of the most intuitive and easy to learn and use, so I totally agree with your point.

I think that you should respect whatever platform somebody wants to use, especially when they are creating great music. Honestly, as long as you are creating a sounds good to you, it shouldn’t matter!!! If I would have gotten the pre-Sonus interface I would have had studio one. I would love to try that one out in the future once I learn Ableton. 😃🙏🏼🎵🎶

Well I use almost every DAW and I mean every DAW,from FL to protools,I have Bandlab,Cubase,Reason,Logic,I own A Machine Mk1,2 MPCs and I also use Ableton but I must say Studio One over all is the best because of the flexibility

💯 Percent! I’ve loved Studio One since they dropped version 3 in of May 2005. I appreciate how Dilli is still working on version 4 and version 6 is just around the corner. Version 5 is like Studio One at its peak! I can’t see where they’re gonna go next!

Thank you for being honest about your opinion. Some people try to control others to do what they are doing or likes. Leaders in any situation make decisions based on what is suitable for their products. I tried other DAWs, and I went back to Studio One. I love the one-stop-shop plug-and-play. Be encourage.

I was a Cakewalk user for a looooong time. Just about every version. After it went to Bandlab and was free I felt it was time to move to something else. I got Studio one artist 4. It wasn't hard to get going but it took me a minute to get over Sonar. Now I have Studio One 5 Pro AND a Personus Studiolive 32s board. When you put it in DAW mode it will seamlessly connect with studio one. You have a 32-channel audio interface right in front of you. And it will control just about every aspect of Studio One. If you want the ultimate in a DAW and a control surface I think this is one to look at seriously.

I just bought Studio One 6.5, coming from Cubase Pro 12, which recently started to crash too many times. But when it works it's great. I just got so tired being an engineer trying to figure out settings or plugins that caused the crashes. Before that I used FL Studio, and I can agree about the GUI. But the work flow...it's so complicated. Then before that I used Bitwig, which has a nice GUI, but the lack of rewind and forward buttons, or even shortcuts for that is a mystery. Otherwise I was very close to choose that DAW. And before all this I used LMMS (Linux Multimedia Studio), because I did ran Linux for 25 years. But the lack of sound engine development and that you have to use JACK Audio to even get started is not fun at all. So for me it has been a long journey. And all I really want is to be able to compose music. :) So thank you for your humble opinion on other DAWs, and thank you for saying that Studio One is the best.

When FL studio as these new features it's going to murk all of them. Most producers are making beats on FL and being able to gain match easily fade edges amongst other things that's going to put it on farm the best daws for recording too. But I've been considering studio live over protools lately.

  • @waltwilliams5195

I enjoy your video! I'm a long-time Ableton Live user, but I am tired - so tired of it crashing so much, even though I keep up with updates for computer and plugins alike. My only allegiance is to good sounding music. Because of buying a new interface a year ago (1824c) and getting the free version of the DAW, I'm about to jump into StudioOne. I'm a little concerned about the acquisition of PreSonus by Fender and what the Fender CEO said about StudioOne being too complicated. Personally I'm not concerned at all about it being complicated, to me it's very user friendly and intuitive. I am just hoping that they don't "dummy down" the DAW.

I’ve only ever put time significant in Cubase and now Akai Force and use them together now! Agree with nothing really different or needed in software now seems to be at its peak especially with stuff like Melodyne, Sonarworks, Omnisphere and my new favorite Scaler 2 for iPad! I’m hoping Cubase updates their Cubase IC Pro app which controls their DAW and can add one button and named key commands. Look into SSL UF8 for hardware controller.

My question is about the feel…
I know logic very well, I used to use digital performer, but my problem was always the feel of the groove (kick, snare, hats, bass)
I finally got an MPCX and that’s the real deal.
Can Studio One *really* replicate true hip hop feel like that?

Studio One is very smooth and the best beginner friendly DAW bar none. I’ve tried Ableton FL Reasons Bitwig U NAME IT!! They no where near as smooth and with Arcade by Output and maybe Serato Sample you have it all.

Speaking of the Mess album, my favorite songs are What I Believe, Better for Each Other, Top Knot, When We Kiss, and Take Our Time. Was the album recorded in your studio??? I know you wrote and produced it yourself. But did you mix and master it yourself???? If so, you did an incredible job. That s&^^ sounds like a professionally mixed and mastered R&B album.

Didn't feel like i got any information to really help me decide to try it, other than it works. I'm not trying to be funny or hate, just honest advice from a somewhat experienced producer.

What matters most is how well you flow with the DAW you use & if you know it inside out, upside down. Our brains are all wired differently. And of course the genre of music we're into affects our choice. Ableton Live & Bitwig are clear winners with EDM & sound design. For recording actual audio & mixing & mastering, Pro Tools wins hands down, then Reaper. Studio One 6 is a superb generalist. That's a compliment BTW not a slur. Cubase is also a great generalist preferred by composers. On a mac, Logic Pro has to be an obvious 1st or 2nd DAW. Truth is, very few users of any DAW are actual artisans of the software. Talent is key just like pool players. The cue you use does not make you the next Efren Rayes.

There is no “best DAW”. There’s only what’s best for you. Everyone works differently and they make different DAWs for different people. I haven’t used them all but Cubase and Studio One have my high regards. Using Ableton Live’s bifurcated interface is an annoyance for me. Logic is locked to Apple so never tried it. Pro Tools has priced themselves out the market. FL Studio just isn’t me.
The MPC and MPC Software gets the most use but get mixed and mastered in Ableton Live more often than not. I have to get something of value from Ableton Live.

There is no best DAW its personal choice, My opinion the best DAW is Reason 12 it looks good, sounds great, it's as simple or as complex as you want, also if you know hardware then the Rack with its realistic design, while it is missing some sequencer functions that other DAWs have, what it does have works great, vocal pitch edit, sound to midi, and other nice features. Buying REs can get a bit expensive so best to wait for a sale like the 50% off sale they are having now. Abalton is a really good DAW close second but My laptop is not powerful enough to run it on a i5, vs Reason which runs on i3 to i9.
