Loose slip knot -Chain 2 -15 dc -Slip stitch circle shut For the 5 arms -Chain 6 -Count three chains down and SC -HDC in next chain, -2 DC in the next two chains. -Slip three from the same stitch where you did the 6 chains, slip stitch. -Repeat process until you finish the peaks. Thank you so much for the tutorial! It's been 7 years but it still rocks
Not me here in 2023 😭 thanks for the tutorial though! I’m a beginner and struggle to do anything when it comes to crochet but this was extremely easy, your directions are very clear ❤
I love the technique of using a loose slipknot instead of a magic circle or chain 4 ring. I've never seen that before and it's such a great idea! Great tutorial!
Thank you so much! Your video is the easiest one for me to comprehend... the only one I could comprehend. lol (Also, the design of the star is exactly what I was looking for.)
Excellent tutorial! Very easy to follow and extremely easy to remember. I am planning to make two stars and stitch them together, stuffing the resulted 3D star :) Thank you so much for sharing!
I loved this video! Although, I was wondering if you could make a video about the double crochet. I am having problems with it. This video really helped! Keep doing what you do! :)
+Mia S After making my last stitch and slip stitching, I cut the yarn and then weave it in closing the hole of the center of the star then I weave it thru the back of the star and out one of the points on the star. The other tail end, I weave thru the back of the star too and out the same point of the star. Tie them together and you are done. I hope this makes sense. :)
After you are finished with the star, cut the yarn leaving a tail long enough to weave in. Use a darning needle to thread the yarn through some of the stitches in the back of the star. If you are wanting to have ties to dangle the star, use the darning needle to thread the yarn through stitches in the back of the star until you come out at a point of the star. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching.
Thank you so much for this video! It's so simple, I have been looking for a good tutorial on how to make stars and this is perfect. Lovely and clear. Can't wait to try it out! :D :D

What size hook do you use and also, when joining the points on the star, do you always go in 3rd chain? Thank you!
whitney24100 It's a size g hook and yes, always in the 3rd. Thanks for watching :)
With Alex can you use a 4.25 hook?
whitney24100 yes, you can use whatever size hook and yarn that you want. If you use a 4.25 your star will just come out a little bigger than mine :)
Thank you for sharing your creativity with us 😊

How do you make the hook at the top of the star?
+Mia S After making my last stitch and slip stitching, I cut the yarn and then weave it in closing the hole of the center of the star then I weave it thru the back of the star and out one of the points on the star. The other tail end, I weave thru the back of the star too and out the same point of the star. Tie them together and you are done. I hope this makes sense. :)

How do you weave in the ends
After you are finished with the star, cut the yarn leaving a tail long enough to weave in. Use a darning needle to thread the yarn through some of the stitches in the back of the star. If you are wanting to have ties to dangle the star, use the darning needle to thread the yarn through stitches in the back of the star until you come out at a point of the star. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching.
