Our first winter carp fishing in Gauteng after lockdown - fishing with the kids

- We were still a little rusty after a long lockdown but had to fish as a quickly as possible once we were allowed to do so. The objective was to catch a carp at Willow Waters, Gauteng in the main dam during winter.

That is awesome. The top dam and the main one has been delivering some beauties this year. Catch and release is really delivering there!

The only places I would tackle that would be for trout. A place like Brookwoodfor example.

Not those, no. You are legally allowed to keep carp in public waters. That would be a problem at the moment (Jan 2021) since those venues have been closed under lockdown level 3. You would need to search for reserves and municipal dams. E.g. when we went to Willem Pretorius at Allemanskraal dam the other side of the bank locals were catching carp for dinner.

Ons het lank gechat daaroor, maar ons het reeds internationale subscribers en hulle groei meer en groter as ons locals ongelukkig. Engels bly maar die naaste aan n taal wat meer mense bereik op n internationale vlak, so vir nou kuier ons in Afrikaans en vlog in Engels.
