    It's a very nice cage but they need a few more houses to hide in, water at both ends of the cage, as well as spread out pellets and hay. Keep pellets fresh so only give them a little scoop of a spoon in a soap dish to keep them in small portions. A kitchen area would help manage poops and pees if you put a litter box by the food. good size and good hay amount and water supply. I love the stick bridge where did you get it? The colors are so nice! Also that amount of carrots can be fed over the course of maybe 2 weeks. More greens! They love Romaine, parsley, cilantro, cucumbers, Zuccini

    I know this is an old video so this may not apply anymore, but it would be good if you would put a pile of hay on the ground, it makes it a little easier for the piggies to get enough hay. Just a suggestion!😊

    I know its a old vid but do the vinyl tiles prevent liquid from demaging the wood as far as you have seen? Because i am looking for something as a bottum lining in my ikeacloset cage i am planning to build. But so far i have seen pond liners, coroplast sheets and plain non toxic seeling paint. But this looks the nices ive seen, but maybe a bit on the leeky side because its all individual pieces...
    So does this work as well.

    • @PiggiesWorld
      @PiggiesWorld  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      kathrynvanwaart I haven’t had a problem with it yet. All of the tiles are really close together so I don’t think anything is going through. My absorbent layer (newspaper) seems to soak up most of the liquid.

    • @kathrynvanwaart

      Piggies World oke thanks, mine mainly have woodshavings so that soak up most of it just like newspaper

    • @faraazshehzaad1175
      @faraazshehzaad1175 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ciara Punzalan In the uk the minimum is 120cmx60 for two, so 100x100cm is more than enough, but if you’re in a different country perhaps look at their minimum guidelines

    Hi! This turned out super great-looking!
    It gives me so much inspiration for a similar project I want to attempt using a repurposed bookcase.
    I’m wondering about waterproofing the wood... I see you used newspapers underneath the fleece, but I’m concerned about any pee possibly seeping between the crevices. I’m thinking I’d like to seal the wood before laying the “flooring” but I’m not sure what to use. Any suggestions?
    Also, is that regular fleece, or the ones specifically made for piggies with padding sewn in? Now that some time’s passed, and the cage has been lived in, is there anything you’d have done differently?
    Thanks for any advice. 🙂

    • @PiggiesWorld
      @PiggiesWorld  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello!!! Thank you so much!! I have to give half the credit to my dad lol. I have been owning the cage for a while. It’s been holding up well and I haven’t noticed any pee leaking through. I’m not sure what I would use to seal the wood. Definitely something pet proof. I use newspaper and towels as a base to soak up the pee and regular fleece at the top. I haven’t had the money yet to buy the nice fleece liners although I really recommend them! One day I hope to have them! Something I would do differently is glue the vinyl flooring to the sides because after a while they kept falling off. I haven’t had much time to get some glue and experiment with it but I’m definitely going to do that soon. That’s about it though. The cage is VERY sturdy and it works!

    • @frienjie7148
      @frienjie7148 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I appreciate you taking the time to respond!
      So, reinforce the adhesive on the tiles... I’ll keep this in mind.
      I hope my project turns out nearly as good as this one.
      Thanks!
