- So as these last three videos have been about using parts from the RLAARLO over to your WLTOYS, I thought I would list the parts needed to upgrade to make it easier for you.
Centre driveshaft kit including slipper clutch. Fits straight in: bit.ly/3WaNGxd
Motor Mount: bit.ly/3W2jIeM
EDIT: As what has been mentioned by @austinscars8588 if you upgrade to the centre drive shaft with slipper clutch, you really should upgrade the differentials as well. Pinion should also be included. This is because the WLTOYS parts are of a lesser quality metal and the stronger RLAARLO will eat them up. Thanks @austinscars8588 😊 Buy diffs here: bit.ly/3uE9c1F
So if you want to upgrade further to the driveshafts: Front & rear wheel seat: bit.ly/3YfNChw
CVD joints front: bit.ly/3HtaLaE You can just buy 2 packs of the CVD joints as they can also be used at the rear and you avoid having to buy 2 dog bones and 2 axle cups.
Rear Dog Bones: bit.ly/3VLAsaw
Rear Axle cups: bit.ly/3UHCI1e
Those who want to go the full upgrade route.
Rear Spoiler: bit.ly/3FfEjpr
Body Shell: bit.ly/3VPOHLF
Anti-roll Sway bar: bit.ly/3FJbZ0b
Front & Rear shocks: bit.ly/3PkITHG
Chassis: bit.ly/3W8NVsN (Side skirts currently unavailable)
HUGE NOTE: Of course now the total is..... $190.85 USD. So why not just buy a whole roller car (without electronics) for only $120 USD after using my code: JOHNROBINSONRC and get a lot more spare parts as well?

Appreciate the hell out of your thorough videos, John! I've learned a lot from you in recent months of getting into the hobby myself.
Hey my friend. Jon that grease definitley looked very light, just like mine were. They’re not sealed so you can’t put the fluid, but you can pack them full of grease and they’re awesome when you do. I packed both mine in the buggy, front and rear full of black automotive grease totally full. The car handles 100 times better.
Ive had the best luck with Black automotive bearing grease because it’s high temp
Hi Jon I would like to update my 144001 motor, brushless ,3650 4300KV ESC 120A , servo 21G . TX RX piece combo SET.
Did you make videos where you do this update?
Hi John,
Thanks for all the vids, theyve greatly helped me fixing both my WLtoys and Rlaarlo
Could you clarify if this would be a simple transplant? or is more work required for the slipper clutch to work on the wltoys?
I ask because i am planning on installing it, but im not sure what needs to be filed down (your reply to Jasonehardy).
Thanks in advance!
Can the dog bones fit on wltoys also
Or you can buy an Rlaarlo in the first and be happy with it.
Can the dog bone fit in the knuckle on wltoys 124017 v2
Rlaarlo WL toys LC racing all the same trucks just about every part on the 3 of them are changeable. Not a good idea to just snug the diff screws. They loosen up big time by experience .
Hi John, thanks for the vid. I got an after-market slipper drive shaft for my 144010, virtually identical to the one in the video. It fit well but for one thing. The cup/gear that connects to the front differential didn't turn freely when the diff housing was tightened back down with obvious consequences. Ended up getting a full refund after making a video to send to AllExpress. Did you try running the car with the transplanted slipper in it?
I had same problem just took the spacer off and filed it down. It's a tad to thick and makes the bearings sit funny, they sit tight either side of the bearing divider on the bottom and angle together at the top so when the top goes on the bearing divider in the top gets forced between the bearings and it all jams up. I must of filed 0.2mm off of it and it sits perfect no in an out play no binding no grinding. You could even remove the spacer and build it up with shims an washers if you have them so it's perfect fit. Filing was a pain keep putting it together testing and take it apart again but it works.
thanks for that.. appreciate the detailed description. @@jayhow997
Hey Jon, thinking about turning my am-x12 into 2wd. Remove the central driveshaft and presto.
Gonna be very heavy in rear
Hello, will it work with the wltoys 124008?
That looks like a raallaro
Hi John,
What are the benefits of the slipper clutch ?
So you do not damage the drivetrain as bad. Allows some give when launching hard
The slipper clutch will reduce wear on the drivetrain, as well as allow your driveshaft to slip when accelerating hard as to not backflip/burnout. Allows for a smooth power delivery once the slipper clutch spring has been adjusted to not be too tight, but also not too loose.
If you're using your car for bashing and enjoy that direct power delivery, feel free to have the slipper clutch tightened down so it wont slip at all/very little. But for speedruns, it's good to have it set to slip for a second or 2 so you're able to go full throttle without worrying about going into a wheelie on your initial hard launch.
You didn't test it, you didn't even assemble the thing
Dude didn't show the assembly to adjust the gear mesh on spur gear and motor gear. Wasted my time!!!!
Muito topp.
