I like the look of the RC10DS, the bodyshell looks great! And those vintage cars, wow! I especially like the Tamiya Ligier, and seeing the name of Jacques Laffite, now there's a name I remember seeing growing up watching F1 when I was a kid. Brilliant stuff!!

Nice table full of great kits! I hope your wife feels better! A lot of friends have come down with either covid or the flu recently! I look forward to seeing more from these when you can. Take care Andy!

Thanks for the shout out Andy! Can’t wait to see RC10 down at the club!
I’m crossing everything that we hopefully get to see the F1 have a few shakedown laps!

You have a Ligier Matra JS9 CS (Competition Special)!!! Yes, this is one of the TRUE classic. My golden era of Tamiya is defined by these very early on-road pan cars, so it mostly ends in 1980 (not 80's) when the RM Mk.1 (Can-Am Lola) and Mk.2 (Datsun 280ZX) were released. Several exceptions are such as Renault 5/Golf CS, Lotus JPS/Brabham BMW CS, and Ralt Honda F2 CS released later than that year that are "accidental gems" due to the lack of Tamiya's effort to keep up with its competitors in the genre. I was lucky enough to get an NIB CS version of this beauty from Japan a few years ago with a full intention to build it, but you know how it goes. This one's having the real tobacco sponsor (Gitaines) decals itself makes this kit SO RARE. It is currently still sitting in my closet in its mint condition as I am so afraid to mess up anything of it.
My pursuit of the Holy Grail (such as Tamiya Black Countach, Can-Am Lola, and AYK RX-1200/2000/3000) still continues and I hope Tamiya will do the right thing one day.

Its a thing with AE not doing very good manuals 😂 didnt say to use grease on the gears when i did my 10t, so left them dry, but its been raced and still going ðŸĪžðŸ˜‚ that F1 car looks sweet, a propper old school rc car. See you on sunday in sunny blackpool fella 👍

First, best wishes of recovery to your wife 💊 Very nice DS and Galaxy. As for the Ligier, I think the 010 has a fixed rear axle, while the 012 has the pinion diff. I have a 010 (I'm a fan of the driver Jacques Laffite) but the car is in a sorry state and I have yet to sort out how to restore it ðŸĪ• That would be cool to see one running 👍ðŸĪ

If I am not mistaken, both of them actually came with both solid spur gear and spur with planetary gears. There are three main differences.
      1. The motor size - A 380 motor for the normal (earlier) version while the CS version had a 540 motor.
      2. Tire material - the normal version had rubber tires while the CS version had form tires. The front ones of the CS version were called 'sandwitched' tire as a gray rubber piece was incerted in the middle of a form tire of the each front.
      3. Bearings - the normal version had oilless metals while the CS version came with full ball bearings (a whopping number of 6 of them to be exact)
Another fun fact of this (and it's brother, Ferrari 312T, kit number 09 or 11) is that it came with two sets of bodies. One of them is a polycarbonate body dubbed "the practice body" and the other one is a plastic one, obviously. Back then, Tamiya had lots of strict (and silly) regulations for the races the company governed. One of them was that all the cars had to have plastic bodies and no polycarbodate bodies were allowed. I hope there are two sets of decals, too, but I have not really examined mine in that detail.

All super cool cars Andy! Look forward to seeing more of these mate and that F1 is as rare as it gets what a bit of kit! Regarding the Galaxy l have own both in the past the Galaxy and Galaxy RS, l remember the red one had a 360RS motor and the Blue one a 540 but apart from colour don't remember any other differences?
How l wish l kept them! Oh well that's life! Great vid mate😉👍

I think the Kyosho Land Jump (a 1/8 GP buggy) was the first cage car that started the trend. It was very cool and so different back then.

On the F1 car, maybe you could get a 3.D printed spur gear.

Marui could make a killing if they brought back their cars vintage market is on fire. They need to get out of the air soft guns.
