She is as beautiful on the outside as her music is on the inside. I cannot believe that she is 71 now. A great songwriter and a kind soul. It's almost sad in a way that "Get here" from Oleta Adams was a greater chart success than it was for Brenda (who wrote the song).
Brenda nailed how the Rhodes sounds and how it feels! The first time I heard the Rhodes was from The Jeff Lorber Fusion. Been attached to it’s beautiful sound ever since.
Brenda please tell me how you stay so current and so youthful. plp in the music industry should pay contribution to you for so many years of good music. just do not get those great quality artist anymore. Really love your music so beautiful & talented!
The first time I heard Brenda Russell, I watched the music video of "Piano in the dark" But, before I heard that, I was flipping through the records and saw her first album from 1979 until I was nine and a half years old I put that record on and play the first track was "so good, so right" and "in the thick of it" was the second track. So I knew her first record came out in 1979 and Nine years later 1988 "Piano in the dark" was the music video for VH1.
Talent beauty and class rolled into one. The sublime Brenda Russell.
So well spoken, talented and classy, definitely a whole different kind of artistic breed!
You are and shall always be a beautiful spirit, God Bless you eternally

Brenda Russell is fabulous, such a singular sound. I wish she would release something new.
A beautiful woman & a great writer!

I got a Rhodes this year, also due to Stevie!
There is that "tapping a coke bottle with a spoon" again going on with a dyno. I would love to hear her on a vintage model.
Love is.
