Wow! The quality on those Tillotson builds is awesome! Makes the Predator look like it came from Harbor Freight LOL! Cool build dude. You are going to have some fun with this build!
Yep. The 224 Predator is made by Ducar, just like the Tillotson so it’s not too bad. The 212 non-hemi isn’t though and it’s definitely lower quality. I’ll always build a Tilly, Ducar, Wildcat or genuine Honda.
I upgraded from my 196 stock engine to a 225. It has been very reliable and powerful. I just don't believe the HP numbers but it still pretty darn powerful.
I don’t know if it’s right or not but when I build an engine that’s going to sit a while before use it I fill the crankcase up with oil and let it sit a few days and then drain it back out and let it sit for a few more days then refill with the correct amount of oil. Seems to get everything lubed sufficiently. Great video a lot of useful information. Thanks.
@@irepairofpc31familykartrac51 some people do that , but I have built engines and have let the set for a good wile before use , I keep them bagged up and when I get ready to start them I add the oil, pull the spark plug out and spin the engine over a lot to get oil everywhere .
@@mr03mach12 I’m not sure , out of the box they say 16 to 17 HP , but I can tell you this thing is a rocket , make sure to catch the next video , when I send it at the track .
I got that Ducar cacklin haha. Thanks for taking the time to try and help me, I just kept trying again with the lash and after 3 attempts it worked out. Needs to be tuned better, and the entire setup dialed in for me but the majority of the work is done and I can ride the bike.
I don’t think I’ve ever installed an engine as-is out of the box. I always do something to them. At this point I’m just buying a block, crank, head, etc and building them that way.
I’m with you on that , got to do your tricks to each one , always trying to get a little mower power 👍🙌 Good luck in your build and thanks for watching 😁
Hi, great job and thanks for video ✌️. In Germany it‘s not easy to find Tillotson Engine parts at moment (rod, piston…) and Tillotson dont give answer why. Greets from Deutschland
@@BustedKnucklesBuildsTexas yeah I got a rpq non hemi 212 they bored 72 mm. With 310 cam it's not a stroker but it's at top deck. Has 1.1 champions. 26mm gps roundsllide carb. 36lb single springs 28 intake valve 25 exhaust an man it has so much torque it's on a doodlebug straight chain 10 clutch 42 sprocket. Hit 69 on it an I weigh around 189lbs 14 inch sunf tires.
You should have got your rod at eccarburetors they know more about Tillotson than gopowersports and they are cheaper and damn sure better. And that motor has a rev limiter on the coil so put a predator coil on it so it does 9000rpm and not 6or 7. Remember eccarburetors Specializes in Tillotson go power is over priced. Ec has super fast shipping too. That rod you took out probably would have been fine too cuz it's not a normal stock rod so don't throw it out. By the way I have this motor too
"I need to see, not you!!!"😂😅 Some things one just doesn't ask a guy, like what cam they run, some won't let you see under their valve cover either, carbs are a very touchy subject also. Grew up around hot rods and worked on a stock car in my 20's, nothing new to me.😊
That’s true , when you race with a bunch of buddy , you can’t tell them everything you put in your engine 😁😁 stop moving and point that light right here !?!?!!!!! LOL

Nice build Rick. That thing should haul the mail for sure. The project is moving right along! ✌🇺🇸
Thank you , should be a great set up !! 👍👍
3465 rod works with stock piston??

What kind of power would you estimate roughly it’s making now with the cam mod and carb mod you done

Clearances may look good but under higher rpm they may come in contact, be sure it all has enough clearance space
Yes sir , for sure !!
I was thinking, if someone could recreate those old kick starters.
I bet you even have one to look at hehe.
That would be sweet
@@BustedKnucklesBuildsTexas Its kind of a liability when the compression gets up there though for a big company.
hard for me to tell for sure but it looks like you are replacing a forged rod with a billet rod ?
