I know it has a reputation for being "stuffy", but the grand Floridian has always been my favorite hotel. For me, there's just something so soothing and comforting about it. Wilderness lodge is a close second though!

We ate at Narcoosses for our Disneymoon in 2011. We LOVED it. They gave us a Decorative dessert. We plan to go back in Fall 2020 for our 9th Anniversary.
I used to work at Gasparilla Grill, and it also happens to be my favorite quick service restaurant in WDW. I highly recommend the chicken and Brie sandwich, and that coconut pot de creme is to die for

Oh yeah. This resort absolutely stands out above the rest, in Walt Disney World. Exquisite food across the board. Victoria and Albert's is my favorite restaurant, in the world. Nobody else does it quite like they do. It's amazing.
My wife and I ate at the Grand Floridian Cafe last March for our anniversary, and we had a very enjoyable experience. Our waitress was knowledgeable about the menu, and her recommendations were spot on. They even gave us a special mini cake at no extra charge to celebrate our anniversary. Great place and a great value if you are on the dining plan. My wife ordered a glass of wine that we found out later on costs $19, but it was included with the dining plan.
1900 Park Fare is a hidden gem. If you can't get in/afford Cindy's Table this is a fantastic option. Plus it's a buffet if you have growing and hungry kiddos!
My first time staying on Disney property was the GF. They upgraded me from Sugar Loaf to the main building! I was also had club level! When I saw the castle from my balcony, I had tears in my eyes! I was so beautiful! I loved that I could watch the fireworks and the music was piped into the room! The food at club level was decadent and delicious! I was spoiled rotten! They treat you like royalty from the time you drive up till the end of your stay. It was wonderful! I went big right off the bat! 🤣 I also ate at Narcoossee's for dinner! It was to die for! Another awesome view to take in the fireworks! It was a very memorable vacation and I hope to do it again one day! I would love to try Victoria and Albert's! I love good cuisine! I better start saving my pennies! 🤣 Thank AJ for an awesome review of the GF!
Wholly agree about 1900 Park Fare. It's only restaurant at the Grand Floridian that I've ever had the chance to dine at. The food was okay at best (you know it's not great when the mac and cheese is the standout), but you're there for the characters. Lady Tremaine and her daughters are hilarious! I wish they could be encountered in the parks more often. I do recall meeting them in California once as well, and they were just as fun!
I had afternoon tea at the Garden Tea Room. The sandwiches, tea, desserts were phenomenal but our server was not attentive and not very warm. The hostess however was phenomenal and made me excited for the experience as she was bubbly, inviting, and helpful.
I love the tea room so much. My wife and I did that when we went on our honeymoon because we both love tea and high tea is always a treat. The rose tea is absolutely wonderful!
Another great video, AJ! Although we’ve never stayed at the GF, we love going to listen to music and have cocktails at Mizner’s Lounge...followed by dinner at one of their restaurants. Always a part of our WDW trip!
I have always wanted to go there but because of my husband and I's dietary restrictions we have always been afraid to go. We always thought the entire restaurant eats the same thing and most of our limitations are very common ingredients for high end dishes. (tomatoes, onions, garlic and for added fun he's lactose intolerant.)
@@wanderlingd7047 WDW chefs at any table service restaurant will come out and work something out for you. I also have to avoid onion and garlic and WDW are amazing at dealing with dietary requirements.
My husband and I went, no kids, to 1900 the past 2 years (breakfast and dinner) and it was our favourite each time! The buffet selection was incredible and very tasty!
Grand Floridian Cafe is the best. I went on my honeymoon in January and that was the restaurant for our "fancy" dinner and everything was great. I had the shrimp and grits and it was absolutely delicious. Quiet and beautiful.
I have fond memories of the GF from my childhood. We stayed there my first ever trip to WDW when I was 4 in 1988, the year it opened. We stayed there several more times until I was 14 in 1999, which was our first trip to use our new DVC membership at Boardwalk. It's not that great of a fit for my family anymore now that I'm in my 30s and there are no young kids with us anymore, so we kind of outgrew not only the proximity to Magic Kingdom but the concept of the three of us rooming together. Epcot is our favorite park now and we ADORE staying at the Boardwalk villas which has become our second home, but GF will always be special to us. My dad still enjoys sitting in the lobby listening to the band while my mom and I shop and pin hunt. I was sad when they redid Gasperilla Grill! It had a great little arcade in it when I was a kid and I loved having breakfast there every day because my parents would let me play a couple games before heading to the parks for the day, my mom loved their sticky buns, and my dad would act like he was being sneaky and he and I would get late night ice cream to give me a sugar rush right before bedtime. lol I just feel like Gasperilla lost a lot of it's character with the refurb. When on Earth are you going to GF Cafe that it isn't that busy?? 😮 We still sometimes grab late lunch there before heading into Magic Kingdom for a few hours, and even at odd hours it's usually full enough to have to wait a little bit for a table. We've eaten at Victoria and Albert's just once in all our trips to WDW, and it was in celebration of my college graduation because I was the first and only person in our immediate family who ever finished college and got a degree, so my dad was indescribably proud. I still have my menu that says "Congratulations on your college graduation!" as well as my (now dried) long stem rose in its box. It was a wonderful (albeit extraordinarily expensive) experience that I will always remember fondly! Thanks so much for all these fabulous videos, AJ. My parents and I enjoy them so much!
For our honeymoon, my husband and I got to stay at the GF, it was amazing! During the week we got to eat at 1900 Park Faire and Grand Floridian Cafe. Both were great, and I highly recommend them, especially if you're on the disney dining plan.
I had the privilege of working at Gasparilla’s for my internship and I loved it! I also got to eat at Victoria and Alberts on my honeymoon and if you ever get the chance, go! It is pricey but totally worth it! Amazing food and service!
Park Fare is one of my family’s favorites! I’ve been 6 or 7 times for breakfast and have never had a bad experience! Winnie the Pooh and Mary Poppins are my faves ❤️
1900 Park Fayre for breakfast was lovely! Great character interactions and service, and the food was better than your standard Disney World breakfast buffet, like Chef Mickey's for instance. We'd love to do dinner there one day to meet Lady Tremaine, Anastasia and Drizella
I ate at Narcoossee's for dinner and 1900 Park Fare for breakfast on my last trip nearly a year ago now. I thought both were excellent, and i was happy with the service. I've got reservations booked for Afternoon Tea on my upcoming trip the last week of November--my mom and me for our belated birthdays together. :D
It is a toss up for which meal I’d do at 1900 Park Fare. Aside from Cinderella there are characters at either meal you don’t get to see often. Another awesome food tour video AJ!😃
What I've found with the Garden Cafe is that even though the breakfast is fantastic, it's better not to go in the normal breakfast time. I've seen it packed from 8-10 am consistantly. My recommendation is to go to a park early, come back and have a nice brunch and break then head back out later. That way you also avoid most of the crowds.

We ate the Grand Floridian Cafe earlier this month for my birthday. We managed to get a last minute reservation. The food was fantastic. We had the fried mozzarella, my husband had the lobster thermidor burger and I had the steak and scallops. Our waitress was great. Definitely a hiden gem. We will definitely eat here again.
Great video DFB! One tip, it’s probably “Myz-ner” not “mis-ner.” 99% sure its named for the famous Florida architect who established a lot of architecture in the early 20th century in Palm Beach/South Florida. But overall so many great tips as usual!
Can you make a video about the best places to go for your birthday/anniversary/etc? I’m not talking about like fancy restaurants to celebrate at, but the restaurants in Disney that have the best birthday/anniversary celebrations! Like what restaurants have super fun ways of celebrating (like singing, the best special dessert, a funny tradition, etc). I think it would be a super interesting video! 💕
Honestly that's why we were afraid to stay there but I am so glad we were able to it was just an amazing stay and it's become one of our favorite Disney Resorts
I think the Beach Club Villas best combine the elegance of the VGF with the relaxation of the Poly/AKL/Copper Creek, Boulder Ridge, etc. Sometimes VGF is a little too much but sometimes you want a change from the Poly/AK, etc. Thats why the Beach Club is my favorite, with a slight edge over the Boardwalk because of the superior dining and pool.
We just checked out yesterday!! Good timing. We loved Narcoosees too. If you haven't tried 1900 Park for breakfast recently, highly recommend you do. It was awesome last week. Tons of choices and all delish. I had been several years ago and wasn't impressed either, but everyone loved it this time.

AJ, you might want to check the definition of "high tea". I think you'll find what the Garden View Tea Room serves is what the English call "afternoon tea". I only know this after being corrected by English friends! lol
Can you do a video review of having tea at the garden room in more detail? Not sure if you have done anything like that, but would love to know more! And what would be a good age range to take kids? I have 2 daughters and thought this could be a fun and special thing to do with them when our family goes, but not sure about age, exactly all it entails, etc.
I realized while watching this video that although I'm staying at a value resort in the fall, I will be at GF 5 times to dine! I'm doing GF Cafe and 1900 Park Fare for breakfast on 2 different days. I have 1900 Park Fare booked for an early dinner on arrival day before MNSSHP in hopes of seeing the Step Family. I almost always eat at Narcoossees if I can swing it on a trip, and I will be indulging in my Surf and Turf yet again. And this time I will be trying Citricos for the first time! Yay! I love food (probably a little too much), so I tend to stay as cheap as possible on WDW property, indulge in the Dlx DDP and plan my trip around my eats! Thanks for the video AJ.
Jiko....I can not stress that enough. it's a signature restaurant so you're going to be paying a decent amount of money for it but their atmospheres amazing and romantic my fiance go there every year on our anniversary
Monsieur Paul's in Epcot's France. Ask for a window table so you can see the fireworks at night! The wait staff is from France so you'll feel like you're transported to Paris! An expensive meal, but well worth it.
Well done. Great vid. Perhaps should mention there is a dress code at the V and A. When we come to WDW on the first night of our arrival we always take the monorail around the Sea Seas lagoon and visit the GK, The Poly and the Contemporary. We usually too tired from travelling to go to a park, but the monorail and little wander around at each hotel is perfect.
Yes, I love wandering the monorail resorts on the first arrival night! Good point about the Dress code at V&A. We were dining at the chef's table one night and our friend had to wear a house jacket to walk through the dining room to the kitchen (he was allowed to go jacket-less in the kitchen).
I really enjoyed the afternoon tea ☕️ & I have high standards as I’m English. I, DH & DS had the version without the alcohol which I thought was reasonably priced for somewhere like Disney. You could also customise some of the courses. FIL & MIL had the same but with a glass of champagne 🍾 which was $10 more. We said we’d come to celebrate 🎉 their golden wedding anniversary & they brought them out another 4 cakes & a rose 🌹 at the end too. Lovely.
We have eaten at the Grand Floridian Cafe many times and always have had a wonderful experience. From the start to the finish it's an enjoyable experience. The food is great and I feel like it's really clean there and that is important to me and my family. We are going back there again this fall. Thanks A.J. for the info in the other restaurants there. Have been to Gasparilla as well but haven't tried the others yet. May try Citricos or Narcoossee's.
At Gasparilla the Fish Sandwich is soooo goooood, whenever I go to Disney my Mom and I go here, get those sandwiches, then watch the fireworks cuz they play the sounds and music from the fireworks
My wife and I had both Narcoossee’s and the afternoon tea in 2016. The tea was enjoyable, though seemed over-priced comparative to what we got. I’ve had less expensive tea experiences with more value, but it was good. We also, on the same trip, had Narcoossee’s, and that experience was very poor. It seemed like an off-night. I doubt it’s like that normally. In an effort to include some positivity, we LOVED Jiko on that same trip (which is at Animal Kingdom Lodge, not the Grand Floridian). Happy eats!
I stayed in the Grand Floridian DVC and had some issues with my room. One of the cast members gave me and my entire party a free meal voucher to Gasparillas for our troubles. Maybe I was swayed by the free food, but I think Gasparillas had pretty eats and there was a huge menu to pick from
I haven’t been to the GF in 15 years but it seems nothing has changed. Used to go to Park Fare very time we went to WDW. Even then the food was mediocre but it’s the best for different characters for my girls(Alice, Mary Poppins and Bert, MHatter). I recall Minnie but no Mickey. Narcoosee’s has always been a favorite of mine. Once they had alligator bites for appetizers. Delicious. BTW, I would describe the restaurant as a grill.

Totally agree with your thoughts on both the Tea (have done if quite a few times, and love it, even though I'm not a "fancy girl" at all - just so different./relaxing, and pretty!), and have had wonderful character interactions (especially with Mad Hatter) at 1900, but just "meh" food. Have never done, nor do I have any wish to do, V&A - most of the time I wouldn't eat most of the stuff on the menu and don't like dressing up for dinner, and feeling "stuffy".
I love everything about the grand. The food is so good. I love going to the tea room when i get the chance. Thank you for doing this tour. It was so relaxing listening to AJ voice. :)
Lew and I have been to Victoria & Albert's 8 times and it just gets better every time. Israel is the Maitre d' and Elizabeth is the harpist. She has a wide repetoire, including everything Disney as well as a lot of show tunes and old favorites. She adds a lot to the evening. Your servers work in pairs and are very well informed. We recommend the wine pairings. Now 10 courses sounds like a LOT of food, but it is a tasing menu, so the name of the game is QUALITY, not quantity. There is one seating and you will be there several hours. There are no windows and, most important, the only place I know of in all of Disney World with ---- no kids. It is, indeed, a magical dining event.
Sorry to hear that you had some bad dining experiences in 1900 Park Fare, Wise Woman. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Mary Poppins so I'm HOPING that she's at the character breakfast when I'm there.

From the moment you step on property at the GF - You are treated like Royalty! We always feel like we're a little out of place when we visit there! Love it!
Narcoossee's is one of my favorites. The food is outstanding (I usually order halibut, my favorite fish). Citricos has good food, but my last experience found it very noisy. V&A is wonderful, but I've not been since it stopped accepting Tables in Wonderland.
Beautiful resort. Hope to stay there someday! Can you please do a video on eating healthy at WDW? I'd love to eat all plastic cheese all week but need to be good too!
Afternoon tea and high tea are not the same thing. Afternoon tea, which is served at the Grand Floridian, is a light, often dainty mid-afternoon repast of small sandwiches, cakes, etc. High tea is essentially a working class person's evening meal, served traditionally when the man got home and was hungry at the end of the day. Miss Manners, Judith Martin, once jokingly said that high tea came from the phrase, "it's high time we had something to eat around here!" It consists of hearty dishes like sausages, etc., unlike the more refined afternoon tea. One is basically a posh person's snack and the other is a working-class person's meal. Even now, many people in Britain refer to their evening meal as "tea." Apologies in advance for my pedantry!

I thought V&A's might have been one of the Signature Experiences where you can use 2 table service credits but according to the website it doesn't accept any dining plan credits :(

We had the Crab Cakes at the GF Cafe the last time we ate there! Loved everything about the place and had a nice little window view table!

Prefer a good breakfast as early as we can get it. Fuels you up for a big part of the day.

1900 is our family’s favorite restaurant! Complete opposite of you 😋 We’ve always had great service and I think the breakfast buffet is delish!
We ate the Grand Floridian Cafe earlier this month for my birthday. We managed to get a last minute reservation. The food was fantastic. We had the fried mozzarella, my husband had the lobster thermidor burger and I had the steak and scallops. Our waitress was great. Definitely a hiden gem. We will definitely eat here again.
Great video DFB! One tip, it’s probably “Myz-ner” not “mis-ner.” 99% sure its named for the famous Florida architect who established a lot of architecture in the early 20th century in Palm Beach/South Florida. But overall so many great tips as usual!

Honestly that's why we were afraid to stay there but I am so glad we were able to it was just an amazing stay and it's become one of our favorite Disney Resorts
I think the Beach Club Villas best combine the elegance of the VGF with the relaxation of the Poly/AKL/Copper Creek, Boulder Ridge, etc. Sometimes VGF is a little too much but sometimes you want a change from the Poly/AK, etc. Thats why the Beach Club is my favorite, with a slight edge over the Boardwalk because of the superior dining and pool.
We just checked out yesterday!! Good timing. We loved Narcoosees too. If you haven't tried 1900 Park for breakfast recently, highly recommend you do. It was awesome last week. Tons of choices and all delish. I had been several years ago and wasn't impressed either, but everyone loved it this time.

AJ, you might want to check the definition of "high tea". I think you'll find what the Garden View Tea Room serves is what the English call "afternoon tea". I only know this after being corrected by English friends! lol

Can you do a video review of having tea at the garden room in more detail? Not sure if you have done anything like that, but would love to know more! And what would be a good age range to take kids? I have 2 daughters and thought this could be a fun and special thing to do with them when our family goes, but not sure about age, exactly all it entails, etc.
I realized while watching this video that although I'm staying at a value resort in the fall, I will be at GF 5 times to dine! I'm doing GF Cafe and 1900 Park Fare for breakfast on 2 different days. I have 1900 Park Fare booked for an early dinner on arrival day before MNSSHP in hopes of seeing the Step Family. I almost always eat at Narcoossees if I can swing it on a trip, and I will be indulging in my Surf and Turf yet again. And this time I will be trying Citricos for the first time! Yay! I love food (probably a little too much), so I tend to stay as cheap as possible on WDW property, indulge in the Dlx DDP and plan my trip around my eats! Thanks for the video AJ.

Jiko....I can not stress that enough. it's a signature restaurant so you're going to be paying a decent amount of money for it but their atmospheres amazing and romantic my fiance go there every year on our anniversary
Monsieur Paul's in Epcot's France. Ask for a window table so you can see the fireworks at night! The wait staff is from France so you'll feel like you're transported to Paris! An expensive meal, but well worth it.

Well done. Great vid. Perhaps should mention there is a dress code at the V and A. When we come to WDW on the first night of our arrival we always take the monorail around the Sea Seas lagoon and visit the GK, The Poly and the Contemporary. We usually too tired from travelling to go to a park, but the monorail and little wander around at each hotel is perfect.
Yes, I love wandering the monorail resorts on the first arrival night! Good point about the Dress code at V&A. We were dining at the chef's table one night and our friend had to wear a house jacket to walk through the dining room to the kitchen (he was allowed to go jacket-less in the kitchen).
I really enjoyed the afternoon tea ☕️ & I have high standards as I’m English. I, DH & DS had the version without the alcohol which I thought was reasonably priced for somewhere like Disney. You could also customise some of the courses. FIL & MIL had the same but with a glass of champagne 🍾 which was $10 more. We said we’d come to celebrate 🎉 their golden wedding anniversary & they brought them out another 4 cakes & a rose 🌹 at the end too. Lovely.
We have eaten at the Grand Floridian Cafe many times and always have had a wonderful experience. From the start to the finish it's an enjoyable experience. The food is great and I feel like it's really clean there and that is important to me and my family. We are going back there again this fall. Thanks A.J. for the info in the other restaurants there. Have been to Gasparilla as well but haven't tried the others yet. May try Citricos or Narcoossee's.
At Gasparilla the Fish Sandwich is soooo goooood, whenever I go to Disney my Mom and I go here, get those sandwiches, then watch the fireworks cuz they play the sounds and music from the fireworks
Best restaurants for couples/restaurants which tend be more quiet and have a nice ambience would be great
My wife and I had both Narcoossee’s and the afternoon tea in 2016. The tea was enjoyable, though seemed over-priced comparative to what we got. I’ve had less expensive tea experiences with more value, but it was good. We also, on the same trip, had Narcoossee’s, and that experience was very poor. It seemed like an off-night. I doubt it’s like that normally. In an effort to include some positivity, we LOVED Jiko on that same trip (which is at Animal Kingdom Lodge, not the Grand Floridian). Happy eats!
I stayed in the Grand Floridian DVC and had some issues with my room. One of the cast members gave me and my entire party a free meal voucher to Gasparillas for our troubles. Maybe I was swayed by the free food, but I think Gasparillas had pretty eats and there was a huge menu to pick from

I haven’t been to the GF in 15 years but it seems nothing has changed. Used to go to Park Fare very time we went to WDW. Even then the food was mediocre but it’s the best for different characters for my girls(Alice, Mary Poppins and Bert, MHatter). I recall Minnie but no Mickey. Narcoosee’s has always been a favorite of mine. Once they had alligator bites for appetizers. Delicious. BTW, I would describe the restaurant as a grill.
Staying here for the first time next week. Looking forward to eating at GF Cafe

I did the perfectly princess tea party when I was younger, and I had the Cheshire Tea at the tea room about a week ago both were fantastic.
Love the Grand. Stay there for a week three times a year. It’s our second home.

Great job, as always, AJ! Totally agree with your thoughts on both the Tea (have done if quite a few times, and love it, even though I'm not a "fancy girl" at all - just so different./relaxing, and pretty!), and have had wonderful character interactions (especially with Mad Hatter) at 1900, but just "meh" food. Have never done, nor do I have any wish to do, V&A - most of the time I wouldn't eat most of the stuff on the menu and don't like dressing up for dinner, and feeling "stuffy".
We went for a meal at the cafe in Grand Floridian yesterday. The N Y Strip was delicious!
I love everything about the grand. The food is so good. I love going to the tea room when i get the chance. Thank you for doing this tour. It was so relaxing listening to AJ voice. :)

Hey AJ, I'm pretty sure it is the Grand Floridian Society Orchestra not Jazz Band... not that I have anything against jazz but they are so much more!
Lew and I have been to Victoria & Albert's 8 times and it just gets better every time. Israel is the Maitre d' and Elizabeth is the harpist. She has a wide repetoire, including everything Disney as well as a lot of show tunes and old favorites. She adds a lot to the evening. Your servers work in pairs and are very well informed. We recommend the wine pairings. Now 10 courses sounds like a LOT of food, but it is a tasing menu, so the name of the game is QUALITY, not quantity. There is one seating and you will be there several hours. There are no windows and, most important, the only place I know of in all of Disney World with ---- no kids. It is, indeed, a magical dining event.
Sorry to hear that you had some bad dining experiences in 1900 Park Fare, Wise Woman. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Mary Poppins so I'm HOPING that she's at the character breakfast when I'm there.

From the moment you step on property at the GF - You are treated like Royalty! We always feel like we're a little out of place when we visit there! Love it!
Narcoossee's is one of my favorites. The food is outstanding (I usually order halibut, my favorite fish). Citricos has good food, but my last experience found it very noisy. V&A is wonderful, but I've not been since it stopped accepting Tables in Wonderland.
My dream to eat at all those restaurants!!!

Afternoon tea and high tea are not the same thing. Afternoon tea, which is served at the Grand Floridian, is a light, often dainty mid-afternoon repast of small sandwiches, cakes, etc. High tea is essentially a working class person's evening meal, served traditionally when the man got home and was hungry at the end of the day. Miss Manners, Judith Martin, once jokingly said that high tea came from the phrase, "it's high time we had something to eat around here!" It consists of hearty dishes like sausages, etc., unlike the more refined afternoon tea. One is basically a posh person's snack and the other is a working-class person's meal. Even now, many people in Britain refer to their evening meal as "tea." Apologies in advance for my pedantry!
