    I'm using this lamp for about 3 months. I cure all gels, including only uv gels in 1 min, flash cure 5 seconds and all top coats 1 min. All colors 30 seconds. It works great, and it's white light does not damage the skin. I'm in love with this lamp ! Thank you Denise for this nice review! 💕

      You are using the 48 watt cure , not the 24 watt selection ?

    • @veyroncabrio
      @veyroncabrio 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +. Denisejohn65 - Nail Ed I always select 48w, only sometimes when the client is extremely sensible and has a lot of pain from the heating I switch on to 24 w.

    I jusy found this video after searching for led lamps on Amazon. On Amazon it actually states that the reason for the 24w cure is for people that find 48w too hot. It specifically says, "if light is too hot for client, press on/off button for 2 seconds". I think they are using it as a comfort feature. I didn't even realize(while reading description) that pressing the button changes the wattage. I thought it turned on a fan of some sort...duh. I'm very glad you made this video. It was very informative and clarifies some of the features of this lamp. Thank you!

    • @Denisejohn65NailEd
      @Denisejohn65NailEd  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks ...and yes tho ...using 24 watt will cure gel at a lower heat and you should get less of a heat spike . Some people will feel a burning sensation with gel .

    I have an idea of something and you were the first one I thought of to figure out how to do it. So here's my idea. I love thick/gel acetone. I like it bc it takes off my gel and you don't need to use foil. Do you think you could figure out how to do your own at home?? The stuff they sell is soooo over priced. You always explain things in a way I understand and I'd really love to see you do it!!!! Thanks!!

    Denis la puedo mantener en 48,o siempre hay qué seleccionar? él botón primero es para cambiar la temperatura solamente, si yo no enciendo ese botón en cuanto cataliza la lámpara?
    Denis I can keep it at 48, or is there always what to select? he first button is to change the temperature only, if I do not turn on that button as soon as the lamp catalyzes?xoxo

    I had this lamp delivered yesterday, mainly because it takes away the need to have 2 lamps on the go (led and uv) but also because I do get heat spikes with gel and having the option to use a lower heat cure to begin with was a big plus for me. Just typical I've just done y nails so I'll have to wait to use it, but i'm excited to see how much faster it will be than my old led.

    got mine last week and i simply love it.
    the 5 secs on 48 w is great to freeze uv-gel so it's not running away and is also (with the gels i use) the perfect time to pinch

    Your reviews of the SUN lamps are very useful and I decided to buy one of them too, but I am struggling to decide which one: sunONE or the sun5, so which one do you think is better? Can you do a comparison video? the sun5 is digital and has a low heat mode, but the sunone has a 5-second cure on gel polish...so which one would you recommend?

    • @Denisejohn65NailEd
      @Denisejohn65NailEd  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I still like the Sun5 better ........because it's digital and I can see it count down . It has the low heat mode ....and it cures gel polish in 10 seconds....,whats 5 seconds ? Not much really .

    • @svetoslavatoneva9625
      @svetoslavatoneva9625 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +. Denisejohn65 - Nail Ed Thanks, you do have a point, 5 seconds is nothing. What about the silver bottom, does it cure better when you have it(for example when you cap the free edge or if you make a design where you paint both sides of the nail)?

    • @Denisejohn65NailEd
      @Denisejohn65NailEd  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually the 24 watt cured the gel polish in 5 seconds . I showed that ....but didn't cure the uv builder gel in 5 seconds or even 10 seconds ( I didn't show it cause the video would be too long ) ...which I was pretty sure it wouldn't . It is at a low wattage and it will take about 1 1/2 minutes or 2 minutes to fully cure at that wattage ...So what's the sense in having a 24 watt ? I don't want to wait long to cure my builder gel at a low wattage ....cause it is no quicker .

    • @Denisejohn65NailEd
      @Denisejohn65NailEd  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      it would probably take a full 2 minutes to cure fully at 24 watt , maybe more

    • @Denisejohn65NailEd
      @Denisejohn65NailEd  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well , I like the Sun 5 ....it has a pre programed low heat mode ....that is great for curing builder gels when creating nail extensions ....it is to make it so you will feel less burning as gel is curing . I love the bright big digital numbers ...and I can also wear it as a space helmet .....just kidding . I really like this one best .

    • @KookieZaur
      @KookieZaur 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the info! i just love the style of the Sun5 haha! would both work for acrylics as well? I just finished cosmo school and I'm dipping my feet into a new tech set :) I love your videos and the way you explain everything

    • @Denisejohn65NailEd
      @Denisejohn65NailEd  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      To do acrylic you really don't need a lamp ......lamps are only used for curing builder gels nais , gel polish and gel top coats . But a lot of people wear gel polish over their acrylic nails ....so you should really have one .

      @@Denisejohn65NailEd hi, I am looking to buy a nail lamp as a present and I would appreciate your help. I read your comment regarding the Sun 5, and you said you liked it better than the SunOne. Did I understand that correctly? Is there another lamp from Sun that you like better than both, because the original comment is 2 years old so things might've changed. Thanks in advance

  • @BajaRosie

    darn i really like this one better, i got my sun9s last week and it was really awesome having that sensor and not having to push buttons, i just got in 30pcs colored gels from anself so i was swatching them on the lids since they're in plan white pots and having that automatic sensor made the tedious task of opening all the foil seals and swatching and curing etc a breeze, i had done it in my diamond lamp and trying to grab the lids from the tight spot was hard but with the sun9s i just lifted it up easy peasy!!!

    Hi Denise, I appreciate your reviews and showing us these amazing lamps!
    I went on eBay US and I found that they are unable to ship to the UK. Are you able to contact the company to ask when or if they will ship here? I can't send them a message for some reason. I went on eBay UK and I can't find them...

      Kiana Singh I bought mine on the UK Amazon, £35.99 with free shipping. I can't wait to buy my Trilogy 3 in 1 drill, LED lamp and extractor fan so I can start practicing gel nails at home. I'm looking for distance learning nail tech classes as I'm chronically sick and disabled, mostly housebound and need to keep my brain busy. Hopefully this will help!

    Does it really cure cnd shellac? Bought the lamp, cured shellac for 2 mins and its elastic, I can leave a nail mark on it for a few seconds and then everything is flawless again. Is that ok?

    • @Denisejohn65NailEd
      @Denisejohn65NailEd  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you are saying you can leave a dent in the gel , and then it goes away after a few seconds . You are probably applying the gel in too thick of layers . Try it again only in very thin layers .

    these lamps are evolving at the speed of light! 😉 im thinking on getting my first nail dust collector next and cant find good resent videos. i can only hope you might do one soon!

    • @Denisejohn65NailEd
      @Denisejohn65NailEd  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I already have a dust collector and a video up . Unless you buy a expensive high end one or hook up another dust vac to it ...they are pretty much worthless . I hooked up a mini shop vac to my dust fan and it works very well for me . I don't really have a large client base anyone ...so it works .

    • @Denisejohn65NailEd

      Here is the links I have to what I use . th-cam.com/video/CQQocsazUXoh/w-d-xo.htmlttps://th-cam.com/video/XSa8XSWdFbUI/w-d-xo.html found a nice fabric covered rubber band at the Dollartree to use to attach the hose , instead of the regular rubber bands . You could buy just a dust fan and attach the shop vac ...instead of the 3 in one machine I have . I like the 3 in one , because I don't like having all kinds of equipment everyone , even tho I don't use the lamp that's included with it . I like a neat clean look . I may change a few things soon .

      My favorite is the Sun5 all they way . I like the large bright digital numbers counting up and down . Also the fact that it has the build in already programed low heat mode for curing gels

    • @Denisejohn65NailEd
      @Denisejohn65NailEd  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      The sun 9s is only 15 lights and 24 watts .It cures the gels a bit slower ....it will not cure as fast as the sun5 or the sunone . You should be doing the thumbs separately , not with the whole hand in the light to include the thumb , no . Thumbs by themselves , put in the amp flat .
