Question... if the battery is dead where is power coming from to activate the electrical systems that you are demonstrating? What good does it do to power it on if the battery is dead? How do you push it with a completely dead battery?
The power needed to drive a motor is much greater than what's needed to flick on a screen and actuate a mode switch even if it's a big relay switch. I highly doubt that you would drain the battery low enough to prevent this under any normal circumstance. Only exception there being a heavily neglected mower, or the battery itself being missing or faulty. But if the brake is off, they're supposedly direct drive, it shouldn't hurt it to just push it if you really needed to. I'm no service technician or expert though
