you guys are so helpful! visiting oaxaca for 15 days in march. Oaxaca city and Puerto Escondido and im so in love! im so excited to learn more about my beautiful home country!
Went for the first time in January. One word AMAZING! We were there for a week...felt like we only scratched the surface. Two weeks next year fore sure. :)
Thank you!!! We have a video somewhere on this channel of christmas in Mexico, but we haven't specifically been to Oaxaca during that time. I imagine it's just lovely though :)
thanks for watching our video!!! We had such a blast filming this one. We want to know: have you been to Oaxaca City? Are you planning to go anytime soon?
Hola from Houston! We’ll be doing a 3 and a half week vacation in Oaxaca on July 2022. Can’t wait to explore Oaxaca! Any tips, outside of your helpful video??
That's awesome! Have an amazing trip. I think another tip we would share is to make sure you have pesos on hand here. We found that card wasn't as accepted as it was in other states we've been to. I'd suggest taking cash out at an ATM there instead of bringing dollars and exchanging. When you're at the ATM, it will ask if you accept their conversion rate. Press "Decline" and you will get your home banks conversion rate, which is stronger! Just a little money saving tip :D
Im in Oaxaca now but leaving tomorrow. Between the closed museum, having to pay for a tour of the garden, and even the textile museum with only a couple small rooms open, was a bit of a disappointment. I guess I had my expectations too high.
Sorry to hear that! I think what we loved most about this city was honestly walking around the streets, admiring the architecture, and most importantly, eating A TON!
@@TouristtoLocal oh, i had my cell phone (cheap one I brought in case this happened) stolen out of my hand too the 2nd day I was there which I admit rather effected my general feeling of the city. I’m in Puebla now!
I'm in Huajuapan de Leon and heading to Oaxaca City tomorrow. Such a shame they're still being militant about face diapers. I won't stay if it's an issue. Great video. New subscriber.
You nailed it as far as the Jardin. I felt the same way - disappointed I couldn’t chill and go at my own pace. Disappointing imo. I took the English tour and there were so many people it was hard to hear what the guide was saying.
8:08 that is not authentic, that was a package a couple bought from a profesional wedding planner, who organized a pseudo traditional oaxacan wedding party, obviously those gullible couples come from outside Oaxaca, unfortunately they are tricked.

Amazing music and shots! Have you been in Mexico between Christmas and New Years or heard of what Oaxaca is like during that time?
Thank you!!! We have a video somewhere on this channel of christmas in Mexico, but we haven't specifically been to Oaxaca during that time. I imagine it's just lovely though :)

Paisano.... Bienvenido a tus orígenes
Muchas gracias!
@@TouristtoLocal ...ahora sólo te falta que no te de pena hablar español...como antes de que te fueras...fuera complejos
How are the bugs there? Are there a lot of stray dogs? Is there poo all around? Is it clean? Is there updated infrastructure?
Bugs - not really, just mosquitos
Stray dogs - yup
Poo - No
Clean - YES
Updated infrastructure - yes!
5:31 I love straight talk. If a place gives bad service, they need to be called out. Too many content creators only focus on the positive.
Greetings from Detroit
Hey! Detroit in the house!!!
I WOULD SAY NEW ORLEANS IS A LITTLE LIKE OAXACA BECAUSE THE *ZAPOTEC* PEOPLE GO BACK THOUSANDS OF YEARS BACK
Great point!
My wife LOVED Oaxaca City when she visited! Btw, thanks for being honest in your review of the tour (Jardin), Juliana
Honesty is the best policy! Thanks for watching!

Glad you agreed! We felt bad for giving it a bad review, but it really did interfere with our experience!
Do not go to zipolite
A drugadict, owner of a bar called la Isla stabbed me from behind.
Dancers wearing MASKS??!! 😂😱😭

Thanks for letting us know!
MASKS?!!
I thought Mexico was free from the bs 😭
Mask mandates in Mexico really depend on the city!
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching.
