Super happy you made this video! I have been looking for someone to test this exact thing! I kinda didn’t want to ruin my light. Thanks for taking one for the team.
I want to thank you for showing this awesome setup! I’ve been looking for this exact thing for over a year now. Compact, light package that packs a punch with reliability and simplicity. I feel like I’ve tried almost every small flashlight and haven’t come across a light that beats this setup yet.
I bought an i3t for a life long friend precisely because of the possible huge light output achieved if someone should decide at there own risk to use a wildly overpowered battery in it. Thanks for destruction testing yours.
I’ve heard good things about the MicroStream AAA. I still need to try that one. My first i3T is still chugging along so I hope you have the same great experience.
Is your dad or older brother’s channel called “Pocket Priorities”? You both have very similar hands. Yeah I know that’s a strange thing to notice but you both have very similar channels. Haha thanks for all the work you do 🤙🤙
I bought the i3t as a bundle with a 20cv benchmade bugout. I really just wanted the knife but got the light with it just for shits and giggles. Didn’t know anything about it. What a stroke of luck this has been to get what is really the most versatile little edc light on the market.
Nice! Yes, it’s still the best in the AAA size category in my opinion. Tough and reliable for sure. Mine is still going strong even after the abuse I’ve put it through.
Good question. Unfortunately 10440s won’t work in the i3T Plus. Because the batteries are stacked, the voltage doubles to 7.4 and the LED can’t handle it.
I don’t think mixing the batteries will work unfortunately. Also I don’t have an i3T Plus so someone else will have to try this if they’d like. 10440s do work in some i3Es but not others for some reason. I actually have a couple videos about this if you’re interested: The Olight i3E + 10440 Mystery - A Possible Solution th-cam.com/video/C7-gIwM3iXw/w-d-xo.html
I found them on Amazon. The only two brands of 10440s I’ve tested are PK Cell and Demon Fire. The Demon Fire cells are nice because they are protected but they are slightly longer so they are a tight fit in the light. The Demon Fire cells also didn’t come with a recharger.
So you were able to pickup the light after 20 minutes? And it didn't melt the circuitry....should mean it would be easy to hold at "step-down"...you should do a "held in hand test ...to step down...while at max lumens" :)
Great question/concern. I actually just finished a video about heat: How Hot do they get? Olight “Hot Rod” Heat Testing with the i3E, i3T, i5T, and i5R th-cam.com/video/cS_83CqwrnI/w-d-xo.html
@@PardonMyEnglish I have a few of the 3a cells, and they are way brighter than the PK, but I haven’t left them on for much more than 30 seconds or so at a time. Too scared lol
@@PardonMyEnglishMy green Vapcell 10440 3A batteries aren't FLAT TOP but button top. They make my i3T really bright I wonder how many lumens it is at low & high settings.
@@PardonMyEnglishI been using my i3T with the Green Vapcell 3A (320mah) BUTTON TOP batteries for more than a year already my i3T still works. I wish the Vapcell had more capacity.
I slowed down the playback speed to .25x yet i cant read the card at 60 minutes. Your handwriting is hard to read plus the speed of the video. I think you used 3 batteries to reach 1 hour using the HIGH LIGHT OUTPUT SETTING. Hopefully i understood your video correctly.
I have not tried that but I don’t think it would work because the batteries would be stacked and connected in series. This would double the voltage to 7.4v. I doubt the light would be able to handle it.

You are welcome! Thank you for checking out the video!
I run these same exact batteries in my I3t everyday and it still works just like it did when it was new. It's a great little light.
Nice! It’s valuable to get the perspective of someone who has been doing this consistently over time. Thank you for sharing!

I can’t take credit for discovering it but I’m glad the videos can help. This is still my favorite as well 👍
Great test! Thanks for spending the time so people can be informed!
Thank you and you’re welcome!
Good stuff!
Did you test the 10440 on low mode? I’d guess it’s more than 5 lumens. How much runtime on low mode?
Thanks!
Thanks! And good question. I did do a video about the runtime on low mode too 👍
@@PardonMyEnglish Great! Would you please send me a link or simply tell me? Thanks.

Have been a Streamlite MicroStream AAA flashlight user for years. This thing better be as bulletproof as that flashlight's all I gotta say.
I’ve heard good things about the MicroStream AAA. I still need to try that one. My first i3T is still chugging along so I hope you have the same great experience.
great video thank you! I got this light but im thinking about getting a rey light lanapple in ziruti. Do you have any experience with that light?
I don’t have experience with that one but people seem to like it from what I hear.
Great video, thank you
I use them all the time. They're great and make the i3t the best bang for the $1 light

Thanks! That’s funny but there is no relation. I’ll have to check out that channel though 👍
I see what you mean haha! Very similar!
Thank you so much!! You really cleared up all the questions I had. I’m loving my new I3T carbon fiber 🫡
Glad the video could help! Yeah I like how they changed up the styling cuts on the i3t carbon fiber. Looks amazing plus lightweight!

do I buy the 10440 with the flat top or button top? I'm going to buy a Vapcell. They seem like a solid brand from the research ive done this past hour
Good question. I haven’t tried any flat top 10440s in the i3T, only button tops.
@@PardonMyEnglish okay so ill buy the button top then. thanks.

Those cells are very low amperage if I recall correctly. Throw some vapcell 3amps in there and see if it’s the same result!
Good idea but I hesitate to try those since they are flat-top batteries. The mAh capacity is also less than the 350mAh PK Cell batteries at 320mAh.

turbo? isnt there just 2modes? low and hi?
You are correct. I used to call the high mode “turbo” for some reason.

lumens with 10440 ?
Great question. Smothered Chrome (awesome TH-cam channel) tested the lumens of the i3t with 10440 and got readings between 550 and 650.

Sorry about the speed and handwriting. And you are correct, each battery lasted for an average of about 20 mins.

Someone did try and it cooked the emitter right away. Don't do it.
Good to know. Thanks for looking out!
