Where I live in West Virginia, United States of America we have 2 muzzleloader seasons for deer, the first is open to any type of muzzleloading rifle and the second is with older style muzzleloaders I use a 50 cal in-line muzzleloader or my reproduction P-53 Enfield rifle in 58 cal in the first hunt and my reproduction 50 cal Kentucky long rifle in the second season its called mountaineer days its lots of fun and a bigger challenge than hunting with modern firearms
I think it is so awesome that Hungry allows you to hunt with blackpowder. From what I understand, most western European countries don't allow this. You have done much to promote this historic tradition, thank you. I am American and in my state we can use any and all types of firearms to hunt with, black powder is my favorite also.
Beautiful video, reminds me of my earlier days, hunting our old leases in Germany. It is great to see these Vizslas at work. I load black powder shells for my Damascus barreled shotguns and some of the speeds I am getting are exceeding modern shells!

I didnt get a chance to watch this video prior to going out. Ohio's pheasant season just started (November 3rd) and I bagged one the first 30 minutes of being out. Now he's all ready in the freezer for Thanksgiving. You guys did great and had beautiful weather (also like us)

A great video of using the old guns just as they did when they were first made.Have been waiting for a hunting video and myself being a wing shooter this has been magnificent .Always like how the game is laid out and respected after the hunt.I didn't get an opportunity to use my percussion 16bore Westley Richards on the game birds this season. A lovely video as always, but more so as it involves ML shotguns. I also have competed at MLAIC events, but all mine were shotguns! I'm a UK Ex-Pat now living the dream in New Zealand. I am now retired from competition, but still hunt water fowl and pheasants with a muzzle loader. As a beater at Craigmore station (large farm) beating up the pheasants I get one (sometimes two) beaters shoots at the end of each season. I'm often asked to bring my ML shotgun because most of the paying guests who also attend have never seen one in action on flying game.

I'm not sure about other places, but in the UK there are no restrictions on small game hunting with black powder sporting guns. I keep vintage pinfire, percussion and flintlock shotguns for this purpose, as well as centrefire cartridge guns. As you can imagine, I'm a major C&B fan!

loved watching the vislas work. My grandmother had one. The old shotgun is wonderful particularly the damascus barrels.
Sharing the harvest equally with all parties involved is something my hunting partners & I have been doing since childhood. Nobody goes without.

Are you using the red dot sight(Aimpoint I presume) as an actual aid or is it for photography?
I believe it is a GoPro with a magnetic mount to film his shots. It gives you a great perspective of how difficult it is to hit the birds!
