What I love about being in our rv (and we are not full time, yet!) Is the ease of cleaning vs a house, less stuff (that you don't need) to distract you and waking up in different places with mostly beautiful views out of your windows!!!
My wife and I are going full time in about 3 weeks and after watching your video I took an extra long shower this morning. Love your TH-cam page and watch every video. Hope to see you on the road someday.
We have been fulltiming since 2017. We have not missed living in a house for one minute. I love our rv and never want to go back to a house. There is so much to see and I want to see it all.
As one of those who lives in a house, but dreams of what it would be like to live in an RV, I thank you for showing us what that can be like. Thank for sharing your wonderful adventures and helpful tips. Hopefully I’ll be able to see for myself someday. But for now, I live vicariously through you and other RVers. I also thank you for calling a house a house, and not “a Sticks & Bricks”. So many RVers do, and yet so many of their viewers do live in a house or apartment (whether we want to or not, lol). Thank you for that respect. 🙏🏻
If it wasn't for last year's quarantine, we might still be living in our airstream...or maybe we would have built a tiny house. It really felt like home for those 2 years. And it truly amazes me how little you need to live. I'm thankful for the experience and how it's taught me to appreciate the extra things we do have now (like plumbing and seemingly endless hot water), and it broke us out of that consumeristic mindset. I'm more than happy to have tons of "empty" space in our home now. I don't feel the pressure to fill every corner with decor or every closet with clothes. I wish we could have traveled full-time, but all in all, it still was a great experience.
Very well said ! For us we have the best of both worlds. House + RV. We are not ready to give up the house. We like our space. We do a 2 month trip per year plus once a month ~5-10 day trips year round. We replaced the mattress in the RV with the same as the one in our house. That eliminated the getting "use" to the changes. We are planning an extended trip of 3+ months as well. Both have advantages & dis- advantages. Being retired has made a big difference as well. Just like there is no one perfect RV for everyone, the same can be said about RV vs House.
You mentioned the lawn mower noise. But isn't it great that you are not the one pushing it :) I pick RV over house. I am not a full-timer yet but soon, very soon! We have been holiday & weekenders all our lives. I can't wait for the small space living, less materialistic things, more people to meet, more places to see and the experience is endless. We know there will be challenges but isn't that the best part!
That is a great point! We have two acres, we are so tired of yard maintenance. Looking forward to just enjoying the view, not all the mowing and weeding that goes along with it. We are also hoping to hit the road soon.
You make so many great points about full time RV life! Keeping it real. One thing I think about is what your children are learning on so many levels! You are giving them the gift of learning about their world in a way they could never get in a classroom! Also, the memories you are creating with them every day are ones that will last a lifetime. It's not all sunshine as you say, but what in life is? I just love watching your videos and going along for the ride! Keep doing you, and thank you for sharing!
We are what I call most timers. We're in the financial position where we didn't have to choose between the two. I really love having a huge shop to do maintenance, repairs, and improvements on our Diesel Pusher.
That's what I miss. I don't need a house, but it would be nice to have a shop/space to go to to pull everything out every couple months, deep clean, do some maintenance. etc. Then get back on the road.
We have been full time for 4 years now and there is nothing we miss about living in a large house. Seems that all our free time was spent cleaning and maintaining. Our free time now ( which is most all of our time) is spent adventuring or just relaxing. Nathan is right that if you full time you must be able to make repairs yourself. That skill is very valuable. We remodeled our Class C to better suit our needs and style. Brought in some happy color and now we love it better than any of our previous beautiful houses. It's exciting to plan our routes and the benefits of travel out weigh the routine of a life in a house for us. We constantly stay in touch with family and friends and swing back to the Southeast to see them each spring and fall. Life is good on the road. Great video LJMJ. You were our inspiration 5 years ago and still are!
As long as it's not windy, I always sleep better in my RV than my house! MY shower is even better in my RV except for the short hot water, but I have always been a quick showerer. My dad taught me when I was young how to take a military shower, so I'm good.
We have spent the past 6 months in our 38' travel trailer while having our new home built. We are empty nesters and it's just the 2 of us so room and quiet are not a real problem. We will miss the close quarters but what's nice is that now we have a new home base and can go when we want!
Agreed! We love our home on wheels also but sometimes it's fun to stay in a house again! Neither is wrong, just different and can be right for different people for different reasons! Great video!
So I'm watching this video as we are out camping. I enjoy being in the RV (Class A) and traveling...I just commented that it's really nice that you can only have the stuff that fits in the RV and everything has its place. So easy to clean, over a house. But I still like our house and my hobbies (that wouldn't work in an RV). SO...Right now we have the best of both worlds! Keep up the good work...I've enjoyed your videos from the beginning 😁❤👍
I want to thank Nathan for reminding me to enjoy my shower. While traveling in our RV this summer we decided we wanted to sell our home. He got back to Las Vegas on July 23rd, did some projects to get it ready to sell, decluttered some and put it up for sale on August 6th. The offers were insane, we accept les one on the 8th and we’re closing escrow on August 23rd! 12 more endless showers coming my way!
I think too just simply the instability of society regarding economics and housing, rv is really perfect. The inexpensive technologies now is amazing. Solar, tankless water heater, mini dishwashers, mini washer dryer s.
Awesome and realistic video, thanks for sharing. I have lived in houses since ever, but in December 2019 we sold our sticks and bricks and bought a 5th wheel and a truck.... now we have no debts, realized that we don't need that much to live. We take our home everywhere. Yes, there are things that need attention but not having a "home association" wins any battle... we have not missed at all the sticks and bricks, actually we don't even mention it. Bought a nice piece of land in upper florida to also prep for RV life and we come and go, no attachments to anything material. Our only attachments are to family and friends, whom also enjoy coming to visit and stay w us in new places. There is something so liberating about been able to pick up and leave and come back whenever you want. And we r not retired, we work full time. I know this is very personal, but for us RV life is it.
Great content guys! For the past 5 years (and counting) the wife and i along with our 3 four legged companions been on the road fulltime. I have been better of being "jack of all trades" in maintaining and servicing our travel trailer, diesel truck, gasoline vehicle along with all the generators and small equipments we carry on the road. This is by far the best life experience and most challenging life during my 40 years of living. We feel like we are truly living now and more connected to our Creator compare when living on our stick and bricks for 17 years of ownership. Stay humble and kind. Happy trails! Howdy from the Nevada desert!
We have been on 2..2 month trips a 2 week trip co.vid shortened it ..being out all day and coming back to a great bed is a must have camping.being seniors a full bath is a must..always sleep n our camper bed but always say yes to laundry and long shower..great videos would like another tour of the latest camper..greetings from NC Moab forever
Good comparison of the value of RV Home vs SB Home….. We love our RV, and truthfully we wish we could spend more time in it. Life has us grounded for the time being and we are glad we still have our home for that reason. Yes it’s more hassle to maintain both a house and an RV especially when you live in a community where you can’t store your RV on property and you have to pay for storage, or we can’t go further than a days drive and spend a week or two and then have to be back to take care of family. Wish I had it all figured out when I was younger and we had traveled more, now as we get older we are missing our travel years, but family comes first and that is what we have to do. But we are glad that we are fortunate enough to afford our SB house and our RV and travel short periods. Happy travels y’all!
YES love sleeping in our RV….our dark, quiet space. Yes yes. Thanks for the great comparison. Glad u r back in RV. Now get going….hope to see u on the road.
It's good to have y'all back on the mainland. I love to watch your videos from anywhere but HI seems to be so far away. It is so pleasant to hear your Tennessee lingo; y'all say things just like we do here in Owensboro, KY and it makes me feel that we are longtime friends and neighbors just sharing life. Nathan is so cool on his ingenuity, making new things and fixing existing things that go wrong. Marissa is so beautiful with the long flowing hair framing her pretty face, keeping her body in shape and toned to perfection. Hensley and JJ are such cute little ones; if you were close we would love to have them over frequently to give Mom and Dad a break or time to shop and get things done. I know we would have a lot of fun. Thank you for being on line for us to share in your life and for taking us along on your adventures. Glenn
We have a voronado fam blowing all night to combat any outside noises. We are in a fairly quiet RV Resort since our travel plans are delayed to next year. Yes, RV living and traveling is the trade off for a home for us. Since we are sitting here in our delay we are looking for land. When we go to our storage unit we sometimes drive by our former ranch. If we were traveling our homesickness would not be so bad. Can't wait til we get to travel. Welcome back to the mainland and your RV. Can't wait to see where you go now and visit states again and see and share more of them.
I used to have mixed feelings about packing up my RV and heading home. It was nice to get back to my familiar surroundings but it felt like an adventure was over. Now that I live in my RV, when I pack it up I get excited because I can look forward to a new adventure.
I miss the tub, the shower, the oven and having a pantry and enough space for dishes. I miss having space to pull everything out of the rv to organize and clean and work on the rig. I sold the house so now I feel I'm at a loss and will never be able to do these things so I am stressed but in a house I was miserable. I'd much rather be on the road than confined to a larger space, but I must figure out how to make this rv work for me.
Really enjoyed sitting down and listening to the pros and cons of the RV life wth you guys ,,, look forward to your Videos each wk love yr little family 💗
Thanks! Yeah I miss the bath tub and long showers! I'm doggie sitting in a house so taking advantage of that right now! I've been living in my Class C mostly full time since November 2020. ❤️ Red
I love your way if thinking of talking g about living in house or Rv. I would Rv. I feel it wound be quieter than a house when you have neighbors that are noisy with lawn mowing or sawing or drilling something in their garage. As like when you are in a Rv park it’s usually quiet. At least the ones I’ve been too when I’d camp with family they were quiet. When I see you all li j v in your Rv it makes it seem it is fun and eventful. And lots of fun. You are living out your dreams and it makes me fell good to do that too! Thank you so much in all you do! Have a great week and see you soon!
Great video y'all. We went full time for just over 2 years selling our house in Johnson City, TN. Then of course Covid hit and changed a lot of things. We now hit the road for several months but bought a tiny cabin back in Pikeville, TN. We learned you just can't beat TN. lol Plus our cabin has several full RV hookups. I don't think I will ever give up RV but like the mix. Yep my wife misses a bath tub most of all. Good friends with Mike and Leanna from The Dry Campers and wanted to come by and check y'all out and say hello. Great information y'all. Very honest.
Welcome back to the mainland. Love watching your journey. We did our first RV trip to the state park this week. Terrible start to RVing. Too many bad things. Now I have a short repair list of those little annoying issues. One is fresh water tank sensor quit in the middle of the night while water line was on...lots of over flowing. The park was awesome will be going back as soon as the fixes are done.
*My biggest issue would be Storms/Tornadoes in an RV, where do you go, when that happens* ? *Here at home, I have a Safe Room for Storms and Tornadoes* *At times like now, we've 50-mph winds heading East towards Indiana, and beyond* . *Betsy Mikesell is the founder of Beddy's, there are 2 different styles of sheets, and like you said, it's a sleeping bag for Adults, any age* . *Highly Recommend*
@@LessJunkMoreJourney I learned about Beddy's from your channel. We have 2 twin beds in our Rockwood Mini Lite & got the all cotton in Boho. It didn't think my husband would like it but he loves it. He likes to kick his feet out so he unzips until he is able which is about 1/2 way. We sleep hot so didn't get the Minky & the cotton is so soft and comfy. Love them!
We have been rving full time for over 3 years and about to have a little one next month. Can't wait to show him and everyone that you don't need a house to be happy and rving is amazing!
Following your trip in Hawaii was beautiful. Not sure if a class b would work that well for us even though there is only 2 of us. But, the sights you showed were so beautiful. I bet you are glad you are back in your home (your rv). You can look back and realize you gave your children the best in adventure. I prefer to be in our rv because no mowing, and other yard work. Sometimes we have to get away from our sticks and bricks.
Best “sleep sounds” are somehow in Wyoming - windows open, rain storm and a distant train rolling down the track, and one loooong whistle. If said train is rolling through the camp site - that changes things.
I love living in my 108 sq foot home on wheels, I have pets 2 dogs and an African grey, what I did to give them quite time and for myself I converted a cargo trailer to my bedroom 6x10. Bottom line I love living tiny and minimalist and living semi off grid! I’ve been doing this for over 10 yrs going from a home, trailers and now cargo trailers. I can never see myself going back to the city or to a home. I volunteer for the bureau of Land management Life is good with lots of challenges!
It's not just size tho, things like water and electricity are all a little bit different in an RV. Just because you have something that looks like a house, doesn't mean it works like a house. So yeah, space is nice. But there are other logistics that affect your day to day.
We adore our home on wheels. It’s totally changed the travel game for us! 💕 Thanks for sharing this and your Hawaii adventures! We can’t wait to visit there this fall!
I would like to experience a year on the road in a class c or van rv , Ive had plenty of time in a house and commuting into work...ive been on a downsize kick for a few years now preparing to free up myself to travel more.
Tasmanian devil that was hilarious. Cant believe I've been following your channel now for four years. Loved every minute of it, you have such an enriched blessed lifestyle travelling to so many beautiful places in your RV. Love you guys, you're such a wonderful and amazing family. Take care. ❤🤗🇬🇧
Welcome back guys and I have to tell you I feel like home is what you make it it's a space where you spend most of your time with your family it's where your the happiest and I know how you feel about the bath tub my family we have a 32ft travel trailor we are seasonal campers I bought 1 of those longblow up blue and white pools and when I want a bath and we are camping or traveling for a month I'll fill it up at night I'll get in it and that's how I have my bath i have put Hot water in it so it really seems like I'm relaxing in a tub I take a tarp and nail it around a tree or something so no one can see so don't think you can't have a bath when you want one and as for the kids it's easier put a baby pool in your shower it works well but the main thing is be happy no matter where you are
Yay for comments again! We full timed for almost 2 years, and we loved it. But for my family it's time to settle for a bit to build a community. The only con I've really experienced is loneliness. We have definitely grown closer as a family but my almost teenage daughter can't wait to have her own room away from her 2 younger brothers 😂 Which is kind of ironic because that was what she was excited most about when we moved into an RV lol. If it was up to me we'd travel forever but doing what is best for my family always comes first. We're excited to join the weekend warriors lol.
We pulled into an RV park late (after dark) and didn't realize how close we were to a railroad track. We woke up at 3 am fearful that we had parked on the track! It was so loud and so close.
Just like a sign I have seen, "Home is where you park it". If you are staying somewhere, and there is tornados forcasted, you can up and leave and go far way. You don't have stay somewhere long term if you don't want to. Your RV looks very nice, and like home.
I can see living the full time RV life could be a (decision fatigue) issue for us. One of my bucket lists is full time RVing for a year and see the USA.
Your channel was the first RV videos I watched, starting back on your first Texas trip. It inspired me to start thinking about RV travel. At first, I thought that we would retire and buy a motor home to live in full time, but we instead got a small trailer and downsized to a condo. We travel as much as we can, and enjoy the simple life without the hassle of keeping up with yard work and maintenance. Works great!
I like a home base but I am itching like crazy to tour some with my kids! Used to think full time but I think I just cannot. Yet. 🤪 I am amazed how much your daughter has grown!
So may I ask, had you posted a video that talks about how much money you need to make yearly in order to afford the normal stuff, even doing things on a good budget. Especially by the time my son gets into school age (he is 11 months now) is when I would be looking towards getting one after I pay off the newer car. I am looking to start looking in advance for what we would need. Thank you guys. Love the videos.
My 1st time tuning in and enjoyed it ( helps that she is Drop Dead gorgeous) My sister loves having it both ways ! My Brother-in-law traded a Boat for their 1st Motorhome and she came home and said what the Eff is our driveway ? But a couple weeks later she went on a float trip with her daughters and grandsons she was sold on it ! My Brother-in-law has been trading up every year, He rehabs them and uses them for a season then sells or uses them trade-in ? I think they are done last trade-in they got a 2008 Winnebago 40 Diesel Pusher with only 5k on the odometer and 10 hrs on the generator but still love coming home to their 120 yr old hse that we have rehabbed twice and play with the boys in the pool ! When school starts they are out of here ! ✌️ From STL ! I liked and subscribed
Have you thought about when you're children get older they want to go to school and be with other kids? I'm in this situation right now my 2 younger kids love to travel my oldest is going into 9th grade this yrs dont want online school anymore
I feel like I wash dishes and sweep all day long in our rv. We stay 5 days a week in the RV during the winter months at our Hunting Club. I could do it full time I love the small space.
I don’t miss living in an apartment or house. I’m single and my children are grown so it’s probably easier than if I had a family. I don’t think I would mind the sounds of others in the RV. I’ve been somewhat of a minimalist most of my life so not having lots of stuff is unnecessary. I have what I use and use what I have. Your children are learning by experience and not always by pictures or print in a book. On that note, what public schools are teaching children is 💩! You have to homeschool your children because you’re not always in one place. I think what y’all are doing is great for your family and I agree, it probably draws you closer.
Though I did not do the raising a family, I totally enjoyed all my years of in my RV, I have seen every state in this country I still travel part time, guess I am a nomad at heart.
What I love about being in our rv (and we are not full time, yet!) Is the ease of cleaning vs a house, less stuff (that you don't need) to distract you and waking up in different places with mostly beautiful views out of your windows!!!

I cannot express the depth of my love and admiration that y'alls' entire family brings up in me. Y'all rock!
I love how real you guys are! Marissa, sleep and showers are my mommy therapy, so I can relate!
Welcome Back Beautiful RV Family, glad y’all made back safely.

Bad weather days are perfect for TV/Gaming days with the family! We have only been full time for 3 months, but we are loving it so far!
Thank you. You helped me realize that part-time rving is for me. Shower, maintenance and space for 2 adults is important.
I’m definitely a house dweller 😂 BUT I love watching you live this amazing lifestyle! You are the sweetest family. ❤️
So sweet ❤️. Thank you!

Maybe go with a rear or front kitchen option. We are into Cardinal 403FKLE. SOOO MUCH ROOOM
I’m SOOOO glad you’re back and in your RV!!!! Missed you guys!!
Thank you, did you see our videos from Hawaii? We still released videos every Sunday. 🙂
❤️ Red
Mid 20s couple here from Murfreesboro. we just sold our home and are going full time rv living for the next year!
Congratulations.
Really glad that you guys have the comments back. Really enjoy your videos.
Thank you so much.
Thank you so much.
Sorry to hear you had a rough start. A fresh water sensor quit?
@@LessJunkMoreJourney Looks like it did quit. All 3 have some sort of issue.
We love it!
Love them!
You all just make it look so fun.
Thank you both for the pros and cons! 😊this have definitely helped me with my decision
Glad you found it helpful!
We love rving...we go to it every weekend an sometimes theu the week...glad you al are back safe travels
Awesome! Thank you!
Welcome back. Enjoyed your Hawaii vlogs. Sorry not everyone was nice to you. Love hearing your pros and cons about full timing. 👍💕
Thanks so much!
Welcome back to the Mainland! Aloha!
Thanks! Really well thought out and explained. From new (15 months) full-timers. ❤️
Yessss we are in hotel and I was sleeping so good in our RV! Missing it one more week but we are shocked how homesick we got 😂
We have been rving full time for over 3 years and about to have a little one next month. Can't wait to show him and everyone that you don't need a house to be happy and rving is amazing!
The train 😂 at a resort in Florida that we have said that why put a sun rv resort next to a train track great video as always!
We love our trailer hope to go full time soon
Just like you both
Love from your Canadian friends
Hope they open the border soon
Congrats on your 6 years. Hope to meetup with you all again
I don't really have anything to say, just commenting because I couldn't for too long!
Thank you for the comment. 🙂
We've been full time 2 years and I'm done. The kids r getting big, and this isn't fair to them. Hoping to be in a house soon.
Best “sleep sounds” are somehow in Wyoming - windows open, rain storm and a distant train rolling down the track, and one loooong whistle.
If said train is rolling through the camp site - that changes things.
I love both the house, and our RV!
Love you guys. We’re in Knoxville, Tn.
Thank you so much.
Your rv is pretty close to a house!, Can’t get much bigger. The travel is the benefit and happiness!,
Enjoy your journey!
I love watching your journey, I hope someday I can also do this. For now I am a weekend warrior and camping on weekends or vacation days 😎
We love you guys! Thank you for sharing so many important things regarding full time rv living! Keep growing!❤
❤️❤️❤️
I would like to experience a year on the road in a class c or van rv , Ive had plenty of time in a house and commuting into work...ive been on a downsize kick for a few years now preparing to free up myself to travel more.
Awesome advice Nathon and Marissa. Thank you so much for sharing. Have a wonderful day. ❤️
Thank you! You too!
What a great little video. Great tips. I can't wait to see wait year 7 brings. Thank for sharing.
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Tasmanian devil that was hilarious. Cant believe I've been following your channel now for four years. Loved every minute of it, you have such an enriched blessed lifestyle travelling to so many beautiful places in your RV. Love you guys, you're such a wonderful and amazing family. Take care. ❤🤗🇬🇧
Aww thank you ❤️
Great! I love that you have a home base near family. I would need that.
I love you guys im loving watching.
I think its always better to have both.
House and RV.
Is the best
Sure! If that works for you!
love the new theme music
Great video, very helpful! Thanks
We pulled into an RV park late (after dark) and didn't realize how close we were to a railroad track. We woke up at 3 am fearful that we had parked on the track! It was so loud and so close.
Pulling into a campground after dark always has it's challenges.
Just like a sign I have seen, "Home is where you park it". If you are staying somewhere, and there is tornados forcasted, you can up and leave and go far way. You don't have stay somewhere long term if you don't want to. Your RV looks very nice, and like home.
Thank you so much.
Full time , I would absolutely miss Plumming and hot Baths 😁 Safe Travels 🥰🥰🥰We can write to you again !!!!! YES 🥰🥰🥰
I can see living the full time RV life could be a (decision fatigue) issue for us. One of my bucket lists is full time RVing for a year and see the USA.
Too much information does cause decision fatigue.
Greetings from Montana! New to your channel and love it.
Welcome! We love Montana, we have new videos out every Sunday.
🙂
@@LessJunkMoreJourney We just had RV TH-camrs lizamazing and mountain beaches stay with us. Maybe next year, you too! 😋
Glad to hear you found a combination that works for you!
Another great video. Thanks for sharing. Safe travels.
Love the intro!
Hi Katie, this video might be helpful to you. th-cam.com/video/tMik5Qz-v8I/w-d-xo.html
Awesome...great tips and break down of pros and cons. Thanks. Blessings
This pretty much summaries LJMJ!
Thanks so much ❤️
Oh my! This was a gem. Too funny.
So glad I can say to you. Great video
Thank you.
Have you thought about when you're children get older they want to go to school and be with other kids? I'm in this situation right now my 2 younger kids love to travel my oldest is going into 9th grade this yrs dont want online school anymore
We have thought about it but believe we will make the best decision when we get to that age. So much can happen between now and then.
Very good info. Thanks.
I feel like I wash dishes and sweep all day long in our rv. We stay 5 days a week in the RV during the winter months at our Hunting Club. I could do it full time I love the small space.
Hi again ..... Thanks for sharing your experiences with RVing ..... Hugs
Wherever you go, there you are.
Exactly.
Though I did not do the raising a family, I totally enjoyed all my years of in my RV, I have seen every state in this country I still travel part time, guess I am a nomad at heart.
Welcome back 🙏☺🥰❤
You guys are awesome!
Aww thank you!
