I've done this recipe and it is one of our favorites. Opening a jar or two for a spur of the moment meal is so easy. I did exactly that and put it in my crock pot, added some sour cream and made some biscuits to go on top for a Crock Pot Chicken Pot Pie. Thank you for taking part in Canuary.

I can see a lot of this going on my shelves once I start pressure canning. Up til now, I've only done water-bath with jams, jellies, pickles, etc. I've always been just a bit intimidated by pressure canning until I started watching lots of videos on the subject last year. I appreciate your showing us how to finish it off after opening the jar.
Love a good chicken pot pie, stew would be great with drop dumplings too. I'm a beginner at 73. I've been collecting jars at yard sales, plus a water-bath canner & old maid of honor pressure canner. I need a new seal for that & a lot more lids. This will be my first veggie garden too! I wanted to make sure where my veggies came from if I was going to do all the work of canning. Love a good chicken pot pie, stew would be great with drop dumplings too. I'm a beginner at 73. I've been collecting jars at yard sales, plus a water-bath canner & old maid of honor pressure canner. I need a new seal for that & a lot more lids. This will be my first veggie garden too! I wanted to make sure where my veggies came from if I was going to do all the work of canning. I can see this being good made into a pot pie. I love using the dicer to cut my veggies too, I feel better knowing that they are all the same size for some reason.
Thank you for doing a Canuary video with a recipe from that book. Someone else did the pepper and onion recipe which looked good and I canned that last night. Now I have another recipe to try. Good job filming!

Thank you for pointing out that you could only do this recipe in pints because I would have automatically done it in a quarts. Will definitely make this in order to have some feel better food on my shelf! 😊
