This car is amazing on track. I can never forget that experience.
+SeriousFox very true!
I never got pulled over for speeding until I bought a MINI lol
Yes ! The searching for accessories ! I've owned my f56 mini for 3 days , already purchased black door handles, black fuel flap, stumpy Ariel, dice valve caps , different side scuttles/repeaters , genuine mini all weather floor mats and a cheap set of aftermarket floor mats to protect the genuine ones hahahaha. And a dte pedal controller ....and a Remus powerizer tuning box.
Great looking car!
the interior of mini's are just awesome
Best review I've found of this car, thank you :)
Thank you!!!!
I own this car and is a car that you definitely love, there are faster options for a similar price but this car has the coolness factor. A Golf R and a Leon Cupra are definitely faster in every track and also in straight line but are not very cool in my opinion.
Nice review! I have a 2016 JCW and I agree with you.
The words in the end? Spot on! This is my first Mini and I'm a fan already even though I've only driven mine for 1000Km. First track day coming very soon!!!
+Joca Martins Enjoy it! It's a fantastic car.
Thanks for the review! Great looking car, just too expensive for my tastes. A stripped down model with the seats, 6MT, and the JCW wheels would suit me well
The good thing is you can order without lots of the accoutrements and thereby get the car cheaper , substantially so .
I ordered a f56 cooper s sport (not the jcw) but the configuration concept is the same.
Approx 190 bhp Vs 230 bhp on the jcw. Post PPF/GPF build so no loud exhaust available with pops n bangs. (Sporty exhaust can be added later with a remap to delete PPF/GPF fault code)
Jcw aerokit included , bumpers skirts and rear wing, door sill kick plates , steering wheel, seats , gear/shift knob are all jcw . And black headliner ;) also includes computer , dab, emergency call, teleservices ,
Led fogs and headlights , white indicators/turn signals,
Excitement pack
The only spec I added to the "build" plus pretty much everything I didn't follows , track spoke rims with no run flats saved £200ish (runflats are standard),
free/inclusive sports suspension 30%stiffer than standard and same as jcw (much better than stock and free) adaptive suspension would cost £600 on top
So no driver modes (I am sports mode) £200 saved.
Manual box /stick , £1700 cheaper than auto.
Piano black light and grille surrounds £200 paid.
Black bonnet stripes £150 paid.
Black roof and mirrors free.
No satnav (because Google maps is fine) saved £2000
No heads up (because not a fighter jet) saved £500
Cloth seats instead of leather (the one thing I regret) saved £500
No comfort pack saved £900 (passenger height adjustable seat included anyway)
No comfort plus saved £1600
No drive assist saved £800
No apple saved £900
No Harmon kardon saved £600
Poverty spec cooper s sport = £23350.
By comparison poverty spec jcw = £26625.
Specced exactly the same as the above cooper s sport but with the extra ooomph and driver modes and leather included in the price.
So the poverty spec cooper s sport within 3 days of ownership already has a Remus powerizer taking it to just over 230 bhp and 335 nm torque (more torque than a jcw)
And a dte pedal control so a snappier throttle than a jcw. Both bought 2nd hand from eBay totalling £110 .
Same looks and performance as a jcw , but poverty spec all in saved £3165 over a same spec jcw (aside from driver modes which is only £200 and leather £500) £2465 saving if you opt for leather and modes.
Stuck with a friend's jcw yesterday from a standing start all the way up .... Basically the same car .
Great video review, Amazing looking car
Thank you! Glad you liked it!
+MotorPress.ca You have great style and presence. Excellent info and details. I own a Mini Cooper S and I love it. Great driving experience. Do you have a twitter account so I can post a link to your video?
Thanks man! I own a 2008 Mini Clubman S, so I am sure we share the same love for our pocket rockets.
@MotorPressCA on Twitter.
Thanks again for watching and for your kind words.
Nice Video !!
Best John Cooper 👍

Συγχαρητηρια αδερφε σε στηριζουμε!
+Just Car Life να σαι καλά φιλαρακο, σ´ευχαριστω!
Really like this car but the Golf R seems alot better for the money.
It is :)
i test drove one and these things are fast! Id get one if only they didnt look like a beefed up vw bug.
With that price in Malaysia, you can't even afford a Toyota or Honda. Every basic sedan new car here start with RM50-60k, let alone BMW, Merc, Audi and Mini. They start from RM150-400k
No manual transmission????
+Eric Miranda 6-speed manual is available!
Not getting the manual is unforgivable
you can get it
issue with this car is the price.. you are in serious competitive territory... golf r is all-wheel drive... mustang gt is more powerful.. entry audi is also there... its a tough choice with this price... otherwise nice car.
I couldn't agree more. I would have a very hard time picking between the Golf R and the JCW. The Mustang is a very different thing so I don't think their paths cross. Also, base Audi is out for me.
MotorPress.ca for sure. I would go with golf r then.. more practical... jcw is for rich ppl with money to blow on a toy.
I would say that all these cars are toys. If you need a practical family car, you get a Golf TSI :)
MotorPress.ca lol TSI is a little too weak lol... at the very least you should get a GTI... or just go with a civic ;)
This is the best of the minis in my opion i own 2one of these an a early 2006jcw do not buy a auto you will miss the point manual there drivers cars service them regular an get rid of the runflat tyres an away you go
Wait a couple years and this cars price will be cut in half. Or more. So don’t complain about the price 😄
Someone has to buy them new for the used ones to appear :)
Don't get me wrong this is a nice looking car with a great interior and exhaust note but a loaded golf r is around 50k Canadian, it has more power, more torque, all wheel drive, 4 doors, bigger trunk space, faster 0-100 time, faster around pretty much any track. And they are asking almost 45000 fucking bucks for this thats fucking pathetic.
+Precision Ammo Gaming you are forgetting the brand aspect and lifestyle element. Your logic is correct but some people find the Golf R boring and would rather have this. It is down to personal preference.
Don't worry I didn't forget lol, I agree though, but my opinion is the golf r is the better option, the mini for its price is just a bit too much.
+Precision Ammo Gaming the Golf R is the better car 100%.
Precision Ammo Gaming personally I don’t like the golf as the interior and exterior feel 2000s ish and the driving experience remember me my first cars aka with cheap feel and comfort. About to try a mini but I’d get the Mazda 3 get before a golf and just tweet it to same power, way better handling, feel and luxury for the price. Now the mini seems nice, wonder how the short car feel
good car, cringe comments.
+Frank Lopez cringe comments? Care to elaborate?
MotorPress.ca like you tried to be funny but ended up being awkward and weird. Stick to the car and you'll have a better video. Leave the witty comments for clarkson lmao
+Frank Lopez jokes are like Alfas, they don't always work :)
MotorPress.ca true true. Good video tho. It would've been cool to get some faster rolling shots for the end, the circles were a bit boring tbh.
+Frank Lopez didn't have a camera crew that day, couldn't do high speed things on my own.
