All I could think at the time when his post fight speech, I was like “Yeah, this is in total cap. How are you gonna retire when you just became a double champ this is fucking stupid .”
My heart skipped a beat when I saw Derrick Lewis taking off his gloves last night, but a sigh of relief when he threw them in the crowd. I honestly wouldn't have been mad at him, he's not young, and doesn't have a realistic title opportunity. But I still want to see him fight a few more times.
Who knows though heavyweight is pretty low on high profile fighters right now a few knockout finished and he could get a title shot plus he's a big fan favorite
Imma let you think about this one, each ufc ppv adds another number, there’s a ppv once a month, the most recent ppv was June 29,2024 and that was UFC 303 so imma let you do the math on that one
@davidmccaslin4823 out of curiosity, did any of that go anywhere? Like, did he ever get arrested, or were there any civil cases that went anywhere? I'm genuinely asking, not defending.
I remember watching Henry retire and being so confused because he was on a rocket ship to being one of the goats. And being super exciting along the way. Him vs moraes is still one of my favorite fights.
Tax scandal what lmao. RT mentioned it's tax related to his businesses outside Russia. It's tax money held back by sanctions to Russia. If his taxes are 3.3 million, he would have Made at least ten times the amount from the related businesses. It's just bring held back from the sanctions since technically it's not money Made within the country
Don't you know how taxes work? Having that much tax means you're having a lot of money. This is probably Khabib attempting to evade tax, the classic rich person tax evasion attempt
Yeah, those other guys just feel like they are blowing their own horn. And the guy who thinks he knows how to fight and is doing breakdowns and "showing techniques" is just r*tarded
That era about 2-4 years ago when it felt like Conor was retiring every second day on twitter I always remember being like yeah alright mate, see you tomorrow when you’ve had a few drinks and you decide to call someone a loser on twitter 😂
Hey Tommy! You're probably not going to see this but in case you do, here's a video idea. "10 times bad blood led to champions absolutely dominating challengers" Eg: -khabib vs conor -adesanya vs costa -jones vs chael You get the point...😂
10 fighters who should retire: 10) Tony Ferguson 9) Tony Ferguson 8) Tony Ferguson 7) Tony Ferguson 6) Tony Ferguson 5) Tony Ferguson 4) Tony Ferguson 3) Tony Ferguson 2) Holly Holm 1) Tony Ferguson
To follow up to this: 10 fighters that fans wish would come back for one more, if that list hasn't been done already. Khabib would be on that list, GSP, and a few others. Retirements that have left fans sad.
This has nothing to do with anything in particular, but every weekend I’ll sell roughly $175-$200 in gas to Henry. Dude does not make small talk whatsoever. Doesn’t like being called sir, and just wants to buy his gas and get the hell out of the store immediately. But weirdly enough, does not want to, or ever will insert his card into the card readers at the pumps. Still comes into the store every weekend to pay the old fashioned way despite having no desire to communicate. I get it though, it’s a gas station after all, like, that story could’ve been about anyone.
7:38 yeah, one of the ones that genuinely needs to hang up the jersey. The last 12-18 months of his career (excluding the Burns fight) was pathetic all around.
Always gonna be like that in combat sports, it's different in traditional team sports because there's a season, you have to sign a contract with a team to play for them. Takes more planning. It's not like MLB or NBA players never come out of retirement, but for fighters, you can just say you're retired and agree to a fight and come out any time you want.
One of my favorite ufc moments is in 2020 at a post fight conference someone asked dana when conor would return and he said conor was retired in a way you could tell he was obviously lying. I like to think every media member in that room rolled their eyes because even dana couldn't make a lie that hilariously bad.
I've been a big Guida fan for like 16/17 years, and honestly, what he did on that Fight Night was pretty wack. Like, you've been a legend within the promotion for a while now, why pull a weird stunt like that?
BJ Penn should've retired a lot sooner, I still find it irresponsible of the UFC to have kept giving him fights. His retirement felt more sad than to celebrate a legendary career.
Hindsight is 20/20. Sure the people behind this videos thought these retirements were legit. Otherwise, they'd make videos of recent retirements e.g Dillashaw, Amanda Nunes etc
Let's not exaggerate. Kevin Holland doesn't fight 5200 times a year. Last year was 3982 fights...so let's dial back the absurdities, please. We're professionals here.
Rip rumble
Gone too soon🫡😇🙏
🕊
😢
RIP...he had so much talent and athletic ability.
Henry Cejudo "retirement" was one of the dumbest decisions made in MMA history.
He wanted to give birth to some gremlins lol
@@robertrodriguez2963just like your mother

Talk about leaving a shit ton of money on the table.
Chael didnt retire, he took a break to give other people a chance, one more for the bad guy
GOATs never retire, they only keep us waiting.
I was so impressed when uncle chael beat the trifecta of goats with wins over fedor, the spider and jbj.
@@nomadgrappler9410the way he hit silva with the spinning backfist of gods was something to witness

He has 7 fights left on his contract after that one and he claims he’s gonna fight them all out. We will see tho.
Who knows though heavyweight is pretty low on high profile fighters right now a few knockout finished and he could get a title shot plus he's a big fan favorite
Damn UFC 288 was in 2013? How time flies 😂

Seeing BJ get knocked out in that bar fight hurts every time
Nah that shit is hilarious
well he did come back and dropped the guy afterwards

11:34 Glad to hear that CCC returned in 2013 to fight two Serra-Longo fighters 😅
And ended up getting paid less than dern 😂
Damn Cejudo vs Sterling was 11 years ago ! Time flies man
Damn, not 1 Terry Funk Joke
Who really thought masvidal would retire 😂
Probably should stay retired
He should go to bare knuckle, back to his roots.
I didn’t know he retired until now

Rumble's entry just makes me so sad. RIP.
Rest in piece, Rumble. He was going to have at least 1 more in the UFC.
No he wasn’t. He was scheduled to fight Romero tho in bellator
How about guys who retired without announcing it?
travis Browne, for instance.

Tony Ferguson is the 10th one
This is why it’s kinda hard to take fighter retirements seriously
This is not a terapy session
where does kevin lee fit into all of this?
Ben Rosets sick beats!
I just can't believe Anthony rumble Johnson is gone. Rip brother see you soon in heaven
The thumbnail depresses me. 😆 Of all the retirements I was hopeful would last, Masvidal is near the top. 😆
Why are these not uploaded to Spotify anymore
Penn vs Ferguson. Make it happen !!!
Tommy is the goat 🐐
woke up this morning expect a recap video from mma on point with how much last nights Fight Night felt like a fucking PPV
The editor missed you saying 2013 instead of 2023
Nah I think Masvidals done considering he's got his promotion

For these days retirements are just attempts to make big money instead of valuing what it means to retire.
Food For Thought: Retirement is not the end of the road; it is the beginning of the open highway.
