I always kept an eye on this Konica lens, looking for one locally. My first and only vintage lens so far is the Nikkor pancake 50/1.8. very cool to use on my x-pro1. I wish Fuji could add different colors for focus peaking via firmware. I use Nikkor as I also own a Nikon FE film camera. Pancakes are great for adapting on mirorrless. The Zuikos are great too. Cheers
Hey, me again 😉, how are things over there? Crazy times huh. I bought an 7Artisans 35/1.2, must say, love it. So smooth to operate and the Fuji mount makes it half the size of my adapted pancakes (Nikkor) on my XP1. Question: when useing the OVF with the non native lenses, no correction is done, right? Even though you switch to ‚no lenses‘ in the menu and key in the Focal Length. The frame is completely off. I find that really anoying tbh. I do use the EVF for focusing etc, but I like to keep my XP1 in OVF until I need to focus. Also when set to infinity or zone fovcud you could use OVF only, but with the frame lines being not accurate it is impossible to nail framing.....do you exerpience same problems? Any thoughs or ways to get on with this? Thx a lot and cheers from Switzerland
Nice video. I own this lens but never used it because I fallen in love with the Pentacon 50mm f1.8 that's tighter but it has an outwordy dreamy look...
Do you use the screen on the xpro1 most of the time or the ovf or evf? I'm thinking of getting an xpro1 and adapting my existing lenses from my film camera so this video was quite useful.
Thanks for this upload and recommendation bro. I found a Konica 40mm 1.8 a couple years ago and I like it but hadn't used it for over a year. Only because I was studying to build another vintage lens line Yashica. I came back to the 40mm because (a) I already have one and (b) the Yashica 35mm is out of my price range and the lenses are range finders with a 38mm lens. Great lens sharp and versatile in my opinion. So I have a question regarding filmmaking with vintage lenses. In your opinion do you think it's worth it to use this original classic vintage lens for filmmaking or use a modern lens like the 35mm 1.7 pergear or meike which renders a vintage filmic look? I seem to be torn between the two. Your thoughts are respected and appreciated. Thanks for the post man. Great footage.
thanks, glad you enjoyed it! I feel as if the only way you will know which lens you prefer is to try both and compare. This lens in particular is already a film lens so it'll give you a particular style/aesthetic. Similarly, the pergear/meike lenses arent too expensive to break your wallet. It doesn't hurt to try both!

hello, thanks for commenting! i actually havent tried the ovf with non native lenses yet. i typically use the evf but will have to see it for myself
Does your lens have a little rattle when you use it?
a bit. not sure if it's a common occurrence but some parts of lens may be loose or it was just built like that

interesting! if you have it already i recommend you try it!
@@andrepel Every now and then I force myself to use it but after few shots I ended up shooting with the Pentacon...😏

@@andrepel I see, thank you. I'll just get a feel for it myself once I get one. I look forward to more videos on this lens and camera combo :)
