yes definitely, the colorimeter here is basically just a very simple spectrophotometer. you may want to consult sera17dotorg.files.wordpress.com/2015/02/sera-17-methods-for-p-2000.pdf which cites a wavelength of 880 nm on the spec. note here for convenience and combining with the POXC method in another video, we are using a slightly different wavelength in the colorimeter.

Hi, well it will probably reflect some aspect of bio-available phosphorus, at least as a yardstick analagous to a soil fertility test. It will NOT reflect a quantitative measure of total P in the sludge, if that is of interest. That would be a more involved method with chemical digestion / ashing perhaps, and analysis of ash.
