- On October 1st, 2017, a Koenigsegg Agera RS drove from 0 km/h to 400 km/h and back to 0 in 36.44 seconds. The Agera RS was driven by Niklas Lilja and the run was made at an airfield in Vandel, Denmark. #0-400-0

The thing I always appreciate about this video when I watch it back was the quick turn around. They were either waiting for someone to set the record and break it, or when the record was broke they were so unconcerned they just went and broke it to prove a point.

It's so funny that the koenigsegg run was on WW2 tarmac and with normal filming, while the chiron was on a silky smooth tarmac with really dramatic filming. It's like a big middle finger to bugatti and how dramatic they are.

This the result of determination , imagination , knowledge and passion ! Koenigsegg is a masterpiece of engineering that was created because a guy called Christian had a dream about making an awesome hypercar ! The guy is just brilliant , not just made one of the fastest cars but he did so despite the hardships were thrown in front of him , he almost lost everything due to a fire but he didn't even think about quiting , in fact he took the punch and stood up again , kept fighting and now he is enjoying his reward !
Christian is a hero in the industry , not only makes sure his cars are upgraded and optimised to the last bolt but he came up with some freaking ideas like that gearless transmission that eliminates power loss in acceleration and delivers an amazing experience to the few lucky men who can afford to buy one of his creations !

Actually, they had planed to do it first, in a german track, but due to bad weather conditions it was cancelled, and they had to post pone it, and eventually do it on this WW2 dated track.

Elohim Monkoy not that easy sadly. First it’s extremely modified, it’s not road legal, didn’t do a 2 way run, and it’s not a production car. That put’s them into the landspeed record league in wich they are now the slowest. If Bugatti didn’t lie about their initial numbers as well, i would say i’d be ok with them, but telling everyone you got 1500hp while in fact you’ve tuned it up to 2000+hp kinda makes them look like an ass. Especially now that we know they cheated the numbers. And it didn’t come as a surprise. So far Bugatti claimed to have a smaller amount of HP just to make people think this is impressive, but when in fact they have to cheat to do something they didn’t really achieve it. And it’s sad to see Bugatti rejecting their own fanboys in this manner. Koenigsegg does honest work and shows legit proof. You can’t just go around saying, it’s verfified by my friend here. No. You need real proof. So far Bugatti has only edited their videos to such an extent that there’s no need to question it. We already know it’s fake. And i’m pretty sure Bugatti is just following VW on their scams as VW is their mother company.

Props to Koenigsegg for posting the raw footage + sound and not making it unnecessarily dramatic by adding a loud annoying cinematic soundtrack and setting up 1000 different camera angles that change every second, sometimes zooming in so close you can see the atoms. Bugatti could learn a thing or two from that.

Steve Hash The bugatti has awd so the 0-60 time will be quicker that cancels out the drivetrain loss at higher speed(time). Power to weight ratio is no excuse the bugatti has an 8 liter engine that should be able to make more power. But then again they are two different cars with two different philosophiess.

Dimitar Denev Basically Chiron 0-400 drive was made on perfect conditions. The road looked new and grippy, the weather was probably warm and nice while Agera 0-400 run was made on cold day on some old ww2 airway that probably wasn't even maintained properly over those years. In short Chiron got rekt hard tho both cars are still amazing.

@@yousefdeeb01 That is simply not true. The only place it could feel more stable, is at low speeds because of its weight and awd. At high speeds, their weights are insignificant compared to the downforce they create, and Koenigsegg has the far superior stability control system, as well as a lower center of gravity, and better handling. People only say the Chiron is more stable because they think that a heavier car equals stability, which is quite misinformed. I believe there is a video of an Agera that is being floored with a launch control setup, and the driver is keeping his hands off the wheel (only making slight inputs with one finger a few times), just to demonstrate that you can unleash all of its ~1200 hp and not have your hands on the wheel, and it will stay completely stable and straight the whole time. How many cars are that stable? I'd like to see that done in a Chiron.

@Julien Lindauer they weren't though. There's cars that have hit that more legitimately at the texas mile. Didn't time it themselves, verified by outside sources, and ran over 300 multiple times on multiple days.
Modified versions of production cars, the same as this chiron is. Only difference is they weren't backed by a billion dollar factory.

Hany Theo the Regeras theoretical top speed is 400. But it shows 280mph (not sure the kph measurement but somewhere around 460kph) on the speedometer. The theoretical top speed of the Agera RS wasn’t anywhere near 284mph I don’t believe.

They had it redlined at 400 for the linear torque.

I agree, the inherent inefficiency of the ICE means that it will never be able to compete with electric motors of the future. When we reach the point where batteries become more energy dense than petrol, it will most be the end of petrol engines for good. But until that point happens, we can sit and marvel at the technical developments that Koenigsegg have used to set this record.

They used the One:1 engine in this particular Agera. Plus, you wouldn't want a One:1 for this test as it is loaded with aero gear to increase down-force, which means increases drag, which means slower times. The Agera is much more streamlined and better suited for this kind of test. And yeah, I wonder if the Regera would even do better =]
