Going backpacking today trying to find this camp site probably going to take the short trip day one to try and be sure we find this spot will be down to 35 tonight so shouldn't have too many overnighters... great video btw
Did my first BP overnighter in 11 years at this site thanks to your and Wish's videos... what a great spot! Especially loved the lower "breakfast nook" on the rock right above the trail. I only did the short hike in and out due to not knowing what my limits were and not knowing how easy the upper part of the lake and the crossing would be, and boy was it muddy! Slowed me down but didn't put a damper on anything.
Caught your video a couple of weeks ago, so my wife(relatively new to BPing) and I went backpacking there this last weekend. what a GREAT trail!! Thanks for sharing!!
Just moved to Ashland Ky from Delaware. Have gear, would be great to meet you and your brother and get out there. Have another channel Delaware-Digger on the tube. Be well, Terry.
We went to Lake Vesuvius for our first ever backpacking trip. I was surprised at the amount of day hikers doing the Lakeshore Trail that didn’t bring a thing with them and it was hot! We went Memorial Day Weekend.
Getting ready to head there for the first time , sounds like you go there often and i take it from where you were camped that there is dispersed camping along the lake trail.
Way after the fact now, but that was likely a skink...not a salamander, which are aquatic. Thanks for the vid though... Vesuvius is on the short list for this fall.
i walked that so many times 8 mile and the 16 never camped or carried hardly anything walked straight threw couple 10 minute breaks love to hear the coyotes at night i mostly walked at night

Good to see you hiking with your wife! You should take her up to Pictured Rocks someday.

I'm thinking about taking my family there this weekend but we'd take a canoe. Are there any easy camp sites to access along the edge of the lake?
going there this weekend, is there sufficient water throughout the trail?
Heading here Friday. Where did you get your map?
where in the world do you get your maps from I've been looking all over and can't find them online. Thanks
