Clearer water at Tuggerah than at Booragul. Some nice fish caught & released. I hope to have a session or 2 this weekend at the top end of Lake Macquarie. I am reasonably familiar with the water there & my Fishfinder is still cactus. I am unlikely to release the first 3 quality fish I catch. We are hanging out for a feed of fish. However, if I catch a Bream over 40cm & a Flathead over 70cm I am likely to release them. Breeding stock. It's great to see a bend in a rod. Shame it wasn't mine. :) Thanks for sharing.
Yeah the water looked a bit clearer especially closer to the mouth of the lake , took a while to find the flathead , they seemed to come on the bite as the tided turned .... going out tide. Hope you enjoyed , have more flathead action on next vid ... couple of big dogs aswell 👍
I saw some flathead following my lure but they won’t strike, any tips to make them to?Also, will the squidgy prawn wriggler and the clone prawn be good flathead lure?
Hi Josh , this was filmed 11 months ago , I haven't fished there since ... by memory all fish caught where in the channel , depth was about 2.5 mtrs approx by memory . We didn't catch anything on topwater , but to be honest we didn't try either ... think I did try topwater for bream but no luck , all flatheads where caught on plastics
Yewww let’s get keen for yak hunters 2022!!
Hell yeah ... this year was tricky with covid and all , hoping to attend more yak hunter comps in 2022 👍
@@CrebosFishingAdventures bit easier for us Lake Macquarie based fishos this year at least. Just hope I can pay off the outback by then.
@@Theloveablemess , yeah will be good for us Lake Macquarie fisho's 🙂
What kind of lure work there? Is prawn imitation lures good cuz of the prawning in The entrance?
I love prawn imitation lures , but I do mix it up till I find out what gets the bite
Awesome video! You're a mad dog.
Thanks Jake, appreciate all the feedback ... it keeps me motivated to get more footage for you guys
Hey mate will the long jetty be a good spot?
Hi Josh ... no idea , never finished there before , can't see why not though

Get around to Buff Point boat ramp for greasy back prawnsand the old jetty for monster bream berley with stale bread and fish oil
Hey mate will the 85mm vibe be good for flathead? Also how you fish the vibe?
Yep 85 is fine ... easiest lure to use , just lift off bottom and pause , repeat
70mm

Yes both lures ard fine . If you see flathead following pause lure ... hopefully it will take it
Tip walk across the bridge and observe most fish taken eastern side wading. But your Yak should kill it
Thanks for the tip Adam , will keep that in mind ... appreciate it 👍
Nice one mate.
Is the water clearing in Lake Macquarie yet?
Hi , still dirty ... can notice some improvement in the shallows
It's a great spot always fished there for a feed never failed to catch it's home to them
Hey mate how deep is the water you fished in?Also, will the entrance of lake Tuggerah be a good whiting and flathead top water spot?

As someone without a sounder/fish finder, are there any particular areas on the lake you could recommend me to catch a couple of these?
Just work the edges of the channel heading out from the bridge , there are markers where the channel is
