Thank you Judy for this interview with Jen. Im so pleased that this issue is beginning to be understood. 40 years ago I had a 1 - 2 times a day bulimic habit, fully addicted for over 10 years. I knew nothing about what I was doing at the beginning and neither did the GP. I can contest that I could have chosen any foods to binge on, but it was ALL cheap, pappy processed carbs that would initially give me a massive sugar high and later would be easily regurgitated. Full carnivore way of life has saved my health and enabled me to thrive without any carbs. I tried Keto first but I still got cravings and was thinking about food non stop.

Loved this! Thank you so much. Healing and getting healthy is so multi-dimensional. This interview touched on many issues affecting the way we look at and feel about food.

I suffered from severe anorexia for 22 years… only when I nourished myself with real whole animal foods did I recover. And, trust me, it wasn’t during inpatient treatment. I did it myself and I’m healthy now 😊

Carnivore since 6/5/23. First time in 56 years I’ve been sober with sugar/carbs. Nothing else worked and I’ve tried many, many things.

16 days without pop, it’s been hard but I’m sticking with it. Eating a tsp of frozen butter helps when the craving gets bad. The total body fatigue and exhaustion is unreal. I’ve been drinking LMNT and had to switch from flavored to unflavored because it set off cravings. My sleep was great but not now. I feel like my 2 depression meds aren’t even working. I have food addiction. 😢

If you’re not eating carbs, you can eat a lot more butter. I eat a couple tablespoons when I’m craving

16 (now 20) days if fantastic! Well done!
Did you set a timeline for yourself? Like 30 or 90 days?
      You can do this!

sandan2358, That is crazy. You will get sick. Reintroduce some veg to unclog your body. You could eat ketovore until your digestion is adjusted to the carnivore. Have a strong real coffee with full fat organic milk after a mug of warm water, in the morning. You may need more potassium via supplementation.
When you eat meat have Betaine HCl to help you digest it. Apply some magnesium oil to your skin twice a day.
You may need to thin your bile too. Look up videos by Kick it naturally youtube channel. Serious constipation can cause damage to your pancreas, please be careful.

Dairy is addictive to me in addition to sugar. The morphines in dairy make me crave more dairy and sugar. And sugar makes me crave dairy. I don’t eat processed foods so I’m talking about fruits and even vegetables, even those that have only a few carbs. As for dairy I’ve tried raw from A2 cows but they still addiction me. Nuts and seeds also addict me. This leaves Carl on-dairy carnivore.

i will add my 2 cents about folks not being as addicted to eating real food, & heres where i may be the odd-man-out here, but ive been keto for 10 years, & now carnivore for 5, & im extremely addicted to hamburger patties... home cooked, no seed oils, healthy meat ...i think my satiety signal is broken? ...& inevitable when i overeat, it will trigger a next-day, all-day library session (if u know what i mean) ...so any advice for us that are addicted to carnivore healthy foods? god bless & thank u

I highly suggest learning what satiety is for you. The BEST way I’ve found to do that is sardines. Or butter. Do a week “fast” and only eat either sardines or butter during this time. You should quickly determine what satiety is and that becomes the new limit. BEST OF LUCK to you‼️

My first thought is the ratio of fat to protein in your patties. It is quite possible that you are not satiated because it's way more protein than fat. Have you tried experimenting with just higher fat + steaks? And see how this impacts your eating habits? I'd try that if you haven't and see if it improves satiety.
Beyond that, I'd consider timing and situations. When you eat, consider checking in, seeing your mood/emotion, and tracking for a few weeks. Do you see a correlation between overeating and stress? Coping? Vegging out? If so, you have to figure out what is impacting you deep down and find a coping mechanism other than food. I get it completely. Food was my nemesis for the longest time. I had to find different coping skills to stop turning to food. I hope this helps. ❤‍🩹

Might not entirely be food, but also discombobulated biorhythms. Could also be a nutrient deficit. Everything is multifactorial - and we too quickly simplify. Occam's Razor is not a law, just an advisory.

@@rhigbee1DrBoz also had a vid or email about eating lots of butter for 4 days or lots of fat trimmings along with ur carni foods
The 1 lady highlighted ate 1-2 *sticks* of butter daily. I couldn’t eat more than 1 I know as I’ve done this before.
She then fasted 2-3 days, water & salt. She had been doing this weekly fasting and continued.
Her satiation was full and her ketones soared, further satiating her. For ppl needing ketones (ie epilepsy, wgt loss, dementia) this is super important.

@@rhigbee1I got jarred sardines from Costco and they are so sad. I figured I would eat 1 whole jar as it equaled 3 tins. They smell so horrid (I love sardines & have eaten them since childhood) I could only do half. Literally felt like catfood as I shoved them in once mashed with mashed butter. (weren’t spoiled, no sickness happened at all- it wasn’t that sort of smell)
So just a caveat to ppl about the jarred ones! Polar brand.
It was even packed in olive oil which is quite hard to find if u buy cheap sardines like I do. I have to buy water packed and mash with even more butter.

PS soooo many speakers use a lot of 'fillers' which can become verrrry tedious when repeated so much, such as "you know" " kind of" "sort of" "obviously" as well as the very common "um"s .. 🙉
