The NEW Deathwing Terminators and Knights have arrived and they join their Primarch, Lion El'Jonson to face the Death Guard and Mortarion. Tak test drives a hyper elite force using the new Inner Circle Task Force detachment. Tycho, Child of Chaos, is playing his Death Guard. Lists Below.

You can tell Tycho is an old-school player because he refers to the rule about his plasma weapons damaging his units as "gets hot" rather than "hazardous" (tho he does say that as well, later on). Just something that made me smile to see.
Watching Tak roll, it sometimes feels like his dice only have 1s and 6s on them. 😂
Yup, and it seems that Tak has got used to that so much, that he considers roll with almost perfect statistical distribution super low at 14:40 :)

I have to say, 40k in 40m is the only batrep channel in which I can follow what's happening. Most of others do streams and constantly distract me by switching to superchats constantly, this one keeps focus on the actual game
This one and winters seo, are the only 2 ive been able to stomach myself

At the end of round two I was screaming with tearful eyes "Leave him alone, he's already dead." That was a tough one for Dark Angels. Great battle report though. Keep up the great work!

Yep... Me as a long time Dark Angels player and fan 21 years. Can't fathom GWs NERF on the 45-46% win rate army in 10th edition... Watch us dip down to 40% I think I will play other SM detachments in Dark Angels colours in the meantime

Yeah, this video cements the fact GW will need to erata the entire Dark Angels book to fix how bad their rules are now (points going down dont fix units that cant do anything). You guys did awesome, i love wrching your videos. The models are painted beautifully. Time to shelf that Lion until 11th Tak, you fought hard kid.
idk, he was using a skew list, with basically no anti-tank (which is needed against DG) and no fast unit to out-speed the opponent
@@brainstorm90 yeah, but this book is written to be skew lists. If you don't use Deathwing Infantry then you get zero of your rules. The detachment rules and stratagems only affects DW infantry. Same for Ravenwing. It's bikes or no rules. Hard to not skew when your army has been pigeonholed into it. There's some okay flavor in there but basic Space Marines Codex is exponentially stronger rules.
I love the entire cast, but Tycho is something else. He brings a unique energy to every report he's in, be it as a commentator, but even more as a player. Such a fun report, and beautifully painted armies as always. Play on!
The brutalis and GUO did 29 wounds between them in a single phase, the most lethal hug in history
Feels like this is a great showcase for how undertuned the new codex is tbh. Everything just seemed to fall a touch short for DA, dice and strategy aside.
I agree. Nothing stood out here as a reason to take the detachment, which is sad because it should be the place to go for DW. That said some of the choices here were a little rough, I get that you could get away with the dad strats in 9th but I don’t think you can just stand and bang anymore

I've been wanting to get into DA for a while now and I agree. it may have just been the smoke machine at the beginning, but the terminators just looked so crisp on the edges and curves

Tak is such a Chad. He always explains what he's doing to his opponents so they have all the info they need to make decisions, and yet has one of the best win rates on the channel. True friend hammer boss man.

I haven't played Warhammer in two years. Because I rolled over 70% of all rolls in a tournamet as 1's and 2's. My third match; I rolled 32 hit rolls and it was ENTIRELY 1's and 2's. It was the second turn and at that point I'd had enough. I shook my opponents hand and withdrew. It was such a miserable time that I haven't played since. I have invested money into a game of chance that I consistently fail to roll. It's actually a running joke at my local store. Consistently rolling bad is, "Pulling a Keldor."
LOL, I feel ya. I only play with my one buddy, but it's a running joke with us as well. On a side note, any game that uses lower rolls to win I crush at.

Tak's thing is incredible. He is the player who gets most “ones” in the world. poor man. I love it😅
The Brutalis charges into the great unclean one, smashing I to it, it's sorcerers form visibly thining against ancient faith and wrath, it's own blade trapped against its chest.
But the Demon does not flee. Instead the brutalis is engulfed in enormous puss shedding arms, and the last words the venerable marine hears slither through his cockpitts' speakers.
"Welcome to death. Your duty will end."
The hug ends, and the vile beast stands up, arms open wide, the sound of its stretching interrupted by a thunderous bang as the Brutalis is dropped to the dirt, the cockpits insides a soup, but the only damage is but a single nick from a dark blade.
Whats cooler than cool? Tak's rolls... Ice cold.
I would love to see Tycho vs Mordian Glory. The energy would be unreal. Nothing but evil laughter and shouts of fix bayonets!

Good episode. Tak’s rolls were rough but Tycho’s roll were insane! That one round though for the Dark Angels was exciting but I had a feeling it was inevitable they would lose with GW nerfing the faction right at the codex release.
As a dark angels player...im so jealous of not only yall having the box set...but also that incredible paint job. Im new to building and painting so i only have a squad of deathwing command terminators and a squad of knights. And they look like complete garbage compared to your masterful painting.

Poor Tak. I was just watching shaking my damn head lol. Those rolls were BRUTAL. one wound on each of those characters. Could have really changed the whole game had they had went down.

Agh, I am already in hurry to finish my Thousand Sons so that I can reasonably start collecting Death Guard and this just fueled the hype. Only 35 models worth off trims to paint and then our new destination is stinky town, population: the coolest dudes in 40k.

Oh fantastic! I love the look of the Death Guard and am planning to start an army to roll alongside what will eventually be my main Ork army. I wanted to run a Great Unclean One with my Death Guard, so I'm glad to see some examples of gameplay with him on the roster.
Also, I would argue that maybe Death Guard want Cabbage because it makes them EVEN stinkier?
This battle is reminding me of (I think it was 8th) 8th edition when Tycho with his death guard faced Tak with his ultramarines. That was one of the first video's that really got me into this hobby. Loved the battle rep and seeing Brother vs Brother fight :)

It is absolutely rough how GW is doing DA this edition. It is like the first codex supplement though so I am sure these will start to ramp up like they usually do throughout editions.

Wow, I’m amazed at how bad this new Codex is.
the last fight between Morti and Lion was basically the Indiana Jones movie scene where that swordsmen (Lion) was showing of his weapon skills ready to fight and Indiana Jones (Morti) just shoots him, or in this case lets his troops shoot him down xD
