- I’m not quitting TH-cam. This isn’t a video about me not quitting TH-cam. That mic isn’t even plugged in. This is a video about the huge eureka moment I got from all the people posting videos about all the people making videos about quitting TH-cam

This is my quitting TH-cam comments comment.
I’ve purposefully scrolled right past the dozens of “I’m quitting TH-cam” videos until I decided to watch one of them about halfway through then turned it off. Then realized that “creator” has made 3 videos since then. They are just chasing views and trying to feed off viewers emotions and I could care less. I watch TH-cam to gain information, not watch 75% B-roll and 15% content and 10% advertising your sponsors. Rene has been one of the most straight forward TH-camrs I’ve ever watched. Always honest, to the point, and tell it like it is!
Rene’s finest. I legit lol’d at the fake mic and MKBHD’s views.
You, sir, need to keep making videos.
No he doesn’t. This goof’s claim to fame is interactive like buttons on TH-cam.
@@nandor690 So what made YOU the "great YT authority"? Few people have Rene's standing. He is also an employee of YT representing creators. TH-cam recognizes his authority by hiring him for that position. As an insider to YT, he has insight/information that few people have.... I am certain what "goofy" things you have to say does not compare.... Personally, I respect what Rene says (for reasons stated), but I really don't like his writing/commentary style. He rambles off on tangents way too much (it is a pain to tolerate). But his opinions are top notch.

The ending defines the path and the direction you take in your career. Nobody questions the validity of ‘business founder’ as a career, and their main goal in loads of cases is to build and sell. I’d be more worried if everyone who’s a major creator today had no choice but to continue well into their 70s, grinding out content whilst slowly losing the will to live. More power to them, they’ve proved it’s possible.
That started out discouraging, but by the end I feel more empowered. I don't want to monetize my youtube channel, I really just want to reach some of the people who need the information I have but don't know where else it lives.
This was exhausting
Getting sick of hearing TH-camrs whining about burnout and becoming creatively destitute when it was their own decision to pander to the whims of the algorithm, to make vapid content that appeals to the most fickle lowest common denominators who move from one trend to another.
Well that’s on you! No one forced you to start a TH-cam channel, and no one forced you to pander; it was your own greed for fame and fortune, for ever increasing metrics that got you into the phunk you now find yourself in.

I don't understand the point of this. If they are making videos for fun thats their choice to stay or go. If they have turned making videos for fun into a business then they are the boss and can choose to slow down or quit. I don't understand why saying how much they are dealing with is important. It's all up to them to do what they want.

Worth listening to more than all the other creators.
My take on people quitting is that you how to feed the beast and it is hard to keep that beast fed. You need a support system to assist you. In the beginning it is easy but as most successful you become, the more you have to do. Put it like this, Elon Musk wanted a car company but didn't want the headache of a car company. You want a TH-cam Channel but don't want the hassle of having a media company.

It's pretty simple. Those that invested their "TH-cam $$" wisely now have opportunities and choices that their previous financial position would not allow them to pursue. A much more important question is how many times does Rene rehearse for a single video? His speaking is smooth and without a single mistake. I would love to learn this technique.

Apologies for the metrics showing that I watched this video immediately following Shelby Church’s Vlog channel video on this. I previously watched MovieBob’s video. I was introduced to Tom Scott because he did that video with James Hoffmann. Ironically I just jumped on the DOAC’s channel last week. Today I watched his interview with Dr deGrasse Tyson then later enjoyed the accidentally related Dr Smith’s Overthinking interview. As Betty Edwards’ asked her followers & practitioners in the most recent revision of Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain. As we play with the five questions of Saturation we can gleam intertextual answers & connections. There is much there?

This creators quit, un stead of pivoting, imagine Taking care of your 90 years old mom while being a constant creator and podcast remote producer, yes that’s me for 4 years. and luckily 5 of 40 of my subscribers are my own clients.

I just hate TH-cam now lol and there’s not a better alternative. I feel like there’s just an era in time we will never get back to where I could just watch things because people enjoyed doing it. Now everyone has something to sell.
And I get it. Pay your bills. It’s just sad to think that people used to do this stuff for free. Now I have to pay to avoid ads and then get bombarded with sponsorships still. And then people are just in a constant state of manipulation for the sake of more views. I honestly just hate this culture online now.

I actually quit watching TH-cam, too much same old same old got sick of clickbate and those annoying adds. I had an early spring clean out subscription wise not even half of the creators I used to enjoy I realised morphed into one huge tech video. I don’t think I’ll even miss them. Here’s hoping I regain my interest in tech videos on TH-cam. But if I don’t who cares? I no longer do.
So your point is that TH-cam has matured enough to create generational support and careers for the internet video space. Just as celebrities in Hollywood depend on a matured movie market today. Hollywood still needed to grow into an established brand, talent, and fame space to support it. Your point is that TH-cam could evolve similarly with opportunities for legacy and new creators alike.

An excellent video and as they say in California with maybe a soupçon of sarcasm seasoned with irony "Thanks for sharing". Google has a very unfair reputation for "Eating it's own offspring" so I do hope the Bean counters (around and possibly above you) who focus on Views and Ad revenue can be educated to appreciate the social value of a platform for people who know what they are talking about and have the integrity to share what they really think. You are an Exemplar of those values and as we say in "Computer-land" a Benchmark for excellence.
During the video it was almost a carousel of creators and voices motivated for self glorification and profit. Chasing views on TH-cam needs to be balanced with quality content made by capable Creators who are concerned about the current nosedive of public values. I am not suggesting for a moment that you get into Politics in any way. Taylor Swift got dragged into that. What I am suggesting, almost warning you about, is that hanging on to personal integrity becomes even more of a battle as you gain a reputation for having an opinion worth listening to.
Bottom line is suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune and Party on Dude!

The idea that TH-cam doesn’t have gatekeepers is hysterical. Try mentioning the poke in a negative lite, or quoting mainstream reports on election absconding.
I’m begging you as the Kissinger of TH-cam to please tell me how I can customize my YT Premium account to only show the creators I subscribe to. I don’t want shorts or a curated algorithm feed that speed bumps my eyeballs. I only want what I want to see and am willing to pay for only that. Please help me Renebe Wan Kenobi you’re my only 😮hope.

I stopped watching this at 4:23, because it was just another contentless video about nothing, spiced up with the usual rap influenced monologue, guaranteed to mesmerise the majority of your fawning subscribers - admit it, when you joined TH-cam you carelessly threw away your mojo, and your credibility.
