I know Murray personally to this day now that its 40 years later. Murray is a stand up guy. Hes got a great wife and two amazing children. Appreciate you replaying these old videos even though this was two years ago
Murray was really tough...for a Scottie...
I met Murray last year here in Arkansas. He's my fishing buddy and a stand up guy.
He was a great trainer too.
Absolutely wonderful person!
I was 9and a half year old when this fight was shown on ABC wide world of sports and I watched the fight that day
I think Murray is my great great uncle because one my grandads uncle was a Scottish boxer and we have the same last name
I was 10 or 11 when I saw this
Miss those World Title fights on ABC..NBC...CBS...
The standing 8-count? I think he declared a knockdown because the fighter's back was turned to Spinks and was wobbly vulnerable.
Murray could have benefited from a little time in the weight room. It used to be anathema for a boxer to lift weights, but if you know what you're doing it makes all the difference.
The last knockdown looks weird. Murray lunged with a right, missed it, and Michael threw a counter that apparently missed and Murray goes down.
No existirá jamás un semipesado como Michael spink
Murray was good against good light heavy weights, but the champions were to strong.
Magandang show nyo sa utube ty
Sutherland knock a easy guy to knock. But Spinks takes him out in round 8You could till every punch Spinks landed hurt Sutherland
Mike Spinks much too strong for Sutherland. Their fight in 1980. Went to a decision. But Spinks improved a lot in those 2 years
It's always nice to see a cocky fighter destroyed.
He doesn’t have the skill or power to be a threat or compete with spinks. He’s gotta have some sort of way to create openings. It’s not always being a cocky fighter. If spinks gets pissed off maybe he makes a bad decision. Spinks was pissed from the jump. Anger can make a guy do something stupid.
@@jrayner21679 Yeah, like signing a contract to fight Mike Tyson 😂😂😂😅😅😅
@@milojanis4901 Totally disagrees that was his biggest payday, his only loss and he retired after winning light heavyweight & heavyweight titles. I was a bit shocked with how different he looked in the fight vs Tyson though. He looked scared as hell.
Wish even today to have a match no rules
One would go to jail for life other morge
Don't matter to me
What in the hell are you talking about?
Spinks was a great Light Heavy. Always was fun to watch. Top 3 175 pounder IMO.
Sutherland always put up a good fight, what a warrior. Spinks was too powerful and tactical for him. Once Spinks connects, it's not so long before being finished.
Two great warrior's coachstrout classics on top of the food chain!!👍🏼👌🏼✌
Man to man bodyblows yeah!
This is the Michael Spinks people should remember.
Spinks was too strong for Sutherland
Met Murray today in a gun shop here in Roger’s Arkansas, hell of a nice guy
He didn't lose bcuz he had to cut weight...he got beat up. And to give him a standing 8 was ridiculous and not legal
He beat the cocky sure fighter into a heap
