i feel like low car was the realistic one that we could all build and own at some point, whereas hi car was the build we all wanted but would never actually commit to.
I think it would be the miata tbh, not the cheapest parts but it was the only series you could really follow along. Not only that, it was back when Jobe was in the garage which made it feel more like we were with him
Seeing how close low car performs to high car and noticing from the guys' reactions that it's at least just as much fun or even more, I think high car really is a waste of money.
They play up the cheapness of low car but realistically with a good wrap job and nicer rims Low Car is a dream car for most people

Disc brake conversion on the back, T56 6 speed transmission from a Dodge Viper (traded some old skool BMX parts for this), painless wiring harness, rebuilt 350 (traded for the work), I've got the parts for the front disc brake conversion thanks to a donor 79 C20 at a local junkyard but I'm expecting my Mevotech front end kit this Thursday then I'll start rebuilding all of it. I patched the floor pans myself, sealed them, painted them, and used siless sound dampener on it (MUCH cheaper than dynamat). After I'm done with the front end I'm going to find a used tank to put between the rails and get the stock one out of the cab. After that I'll finish the bodywork on the can and paint it myself. I'm also removing the bed and building a Western Red Cedar flatbed on it. My buddy has a portable sawmill and we've already cut the wood for it and letting it season. Once done I'm expecting to only have about $5k into it total including what I bought it for as a running project

Loved the Money Pit Miata. There's something special about it that makes it feel relatable, like doing everything in a driveway and being able to watch and do it along with Zach.

I gotta say I really loved the og money pit series. I'd seriously wait for Wednesdays every week just to see Jobe work on the Miata. It truly felt like we all built it together, it was awesome. And I think that I speak for everyone else when I say we need more of the og style money pit series.

The OG money pit season was definitely my favorite, but I wish the E36 would've gotten the same treatment as the Miata. It was a more unique build and an equally aftermarket-supported platform but it felt like they really half-assed the whole thing tbh.

I was going for high and low truck too, but I'm bias.. with my 03 Tacoma which has a mix of the High and low parts
100%. That was the vehicle I truly wanted to own.
Low car was my pick, it ended up being quicker than high car when they tested it and looks so quirky and fun

Honestly, the Miata series was one of the best, learned a lot from it. I can relate to that series, it makes me feel that I can build my car by myself too! It's the closest to my heart!

Yea, lo-car all the way, mostly because I fully intend to buy a 350 or 370z one day for drifting. I felt like I learned quite a lot watching that series, but im definitely not spending more than 20k on the build so lo-car it is!
I’m a huge rally fan, living in Germany I actually bought an e36 and began fulfilling my childhood dreams of owning my first rally car thanks to money pit. I’m eternally grateful, should be race ready by next year! Thanks for existing and doing what y’all do.
Honestly, low truck fells like a brother to me, the videos were amazing and the truck got loads of love from everybody.
Hi car, in the other hand, is the best representation of what money + a legendary car (with good taste) can become; truly an amazing car and the mods made it so mean it's hard not to love her.

Even though I really love the underdog feel and story of Low-car, and how much it kept up during the series, I can't get over how Hi-car was just a perfect antagonist to it. It was almost poetic. It was like the big bad monster vs the simple hero of the story. For that reason, I think I just like Hi-Car way more.

The final test should be a mix of tracks and tests to show the strengths/weaknesses of each car. One team might dominate on the drag strip while the other might dominate in the curves, etc.

High car is like Dark Vader, strong and evil from the start. Low car is like Luke, starts out as a little wussy but then comes back with a vengeance. Definitely was my favourite series. Truck one was cool too, but the cars didn’t feel like they had their own personality/character.

Yall should do an all time JDM snake style draft similar to fantasy football. Get 3-5 guys, and place “position” limits such as 2 drift cars, 3 speed cars, uphill winner, downhill winner, an undervalued car, etc. Then leave it up to us to decide who built the best garage

I love James, I'm watching him since the start of Donut, I remember his gloomy and no energy atmosphere in first episodes of Up to speed, and I watched him grow and he improve hosting the up to speed, and a lot of things happened couple of segments added, more hosts now working in Donut not to mention Nolan ,love him. @@Onewheelordeal everyone who knows anything about cars gets exploited at AutoZone, customers come in and expect you to diagnose what's wrong with their car for free. At most normal shop there is a diagnostic fee. What was even worse was people who thought they knew what they were doing, When I worked at AutoZone that was my experience anyway.
@@Onewheelordeal it’s just a store, don’t expect any knowledge on cars. That’s like going into Home Depot and asking the teenage girl who works there if they know what a crescent wrench is and expecting a competent answer.
I gotta say, I related to the HiLo Truck series most, but it seemed that you guys' hearts were in the HiLo Car series and the MoneyPit Miata. Those were the videos I enjoyed watching the most, because it seemed like you guys enjoyed making them the most.

Love the channel and agree with each end result except for the MoneyPit Miata. I live in South Africa and unfortunately the moment you stop at the traffic lights you WILL be hijacked or receive lots of love from the homeless due to your drop top no matter how fast she is. The E36 is so much cheaper and easier to find down here. The E36 potential is also more with regards to 2JZ or V8 motor swops etc

I'll be honest, they're all great cars, but the Money Pit Miata I think is really special because it was built in a driveway, no special tools, no extravagent parts, it was something everyone could do and learn. I had an NB Miata at the time and copied some stuff from Money Pit, but a lot can be shared with other platforms in a driveway.

I prefer Low Car. Looks better and sounds better, plus I think it performed as good if not slightly better than High-Car in drifting because the transmission actually ended up being better suited than the one High-Car used. Just my 2 cents.
Hey guys, I have a D-List idea you may enjoy: Cars unavailable (still) in the USA. So Kei ABC caro wouldn't be listed because they are now imported, but a Honda S660 would. In many videos of yours I hear mentions of specific cars or trims that JDM only, but never compiled.
AKA: If you are moving abroad, what cars can you use to flex on friends back home

the money-pit miata were the first videos that introduced me to donut media. Those videos taught me a lot about the basics of car maintenance and modifications as well as teaching me the terms and slang for car parts and mods.
I was at Shambhala Music Festival last weekend wearing my donut hat and I just want to say who ever yelled "mo powa" at me by the AMP stage you made my weekend. Hope you see this and happy Shambhala brotha

I personally think a great video would be taking all the cars to the track (Hi-car, lo-car, MP Miata, MP E36, the Cabrio, and any employee cars) and taking the offroad-ish ones (MP E36, hi-truck, lo-truck) to the desert for a Money Pit style hot lap
