@@Murphyshephard23975 yer that one i lost was a good fish, oh well. Beautiful place the lake i love fishing there but probably try somewhere else next if the weather's ok. Thanks for watching 👍
Bit late watching your latest video mate sorry but I'm back at doing 12hr shifts. As always Andrew not but top quality... These days are getting hotter so make sure you cover up. Looking forward to your next video mate 👍
Hey Andrew, I agree 100% that it was a struggle getting fish to bite on the weekend but you still managed👍 Saturday was a bit better for me, but Sunday was horrendous (6 small fish in 6 hours) I fished the same area as in your video on Sunday, so I'm surprised I didn't see you. Great video with the drone footage, you've done some miles there with aerial views of different areas...and what about the squid😲
I did see u once pete near wangi, slow fishing however on sunday hard to get any interest from them at all. I stayed home Saturday of course 🙄 i looked in alot of places but it was all the same really. Not much going on. That pack of squid got me a good feed, too bad the gopro died at the start.
G’day Lowy, I was wondering if you could explain your approach to fishing deeper water. I naturally find myself gravitating towards shallower water and structure for the majority of my fishing. Deeper water all just looks the same to me.
Hey mate, thanks for the donation very much appreciated 🙏 i spent most of my early days fishing shallow aswell catching mainly bream and flathead. Then i started to fish out deeper an found the fishing far better an many more options. So i spent alot more time sounding out areas in the 20-35 ft range in the lake, mainly old cockle beds. I found they held way more baitfish an an being able to cast in any direction around the boat gave me so much more water to cover. I definitely found areas where jewfish seemed to travel around the lake an even areas on particular tides they seemed to feed. Plus the bycatch of other fish was just as good as shallow fishing for me but my jewfish catch rate went through the roof. And its way less crowded ppl wise in the deeper areas, its just a matter of sounding out the bottom an finding the right areas on each given tide. Its not a 100% successful sometimes the fish just dont bite but for me its pretty consistent. I never just fish deep where the bottom is just all flat. I only fish where its bumpy an the depth goes up an down. Or wrecks that are deep il fish those aswell. Hopefully that helps 👍
@ thanks Lowy, great answer, that helps a-lot and now that I think about it and from watching your camera drops, those features such as cockle beds, wrecks and undulations are all logical fish holding structure, just beyond visual awareness. Time for me to branch out! Thanks mate.
@@chriskaufman8103 thanks chris i appreciate the views an support. Does it tenderise them ? Either way they were delicious, just put some light crumbing on them come up a treat.
@Lowysfishing it does tenderise extremely well. All I do is prep the squid and put it in a bowl with a couple of sliced up kiwi fruit, give a bit of a mix up and leave in the fridge for about 10mins before cooking and I promise you it tenderises the squid extremely well. Either way I'm the same as you love my fresh squid, bloody delicious 😋
