    Bake Premo at 275f, not 175, like I said in the video.
    Isopropyl alcohol is what I use.

      Just made a few earrings with this technique. May I make a suggestion from my experience? One should use up the pieces soon after making the mokume gane square. I made the square and cut pieces but stored them for use some days later. Found that the alcohol inks had been absorbed more into the clay and the beautiful confetti effect was gone. Had to run my pieces through my pasta machine to get it back. But still love this technique and thank you for sharing it.

      @@clayboutique Oh my goodness. Spiders are allies! I'm here for the clay, but please let me advocate for a second. Spiders are beneficial in our yards, and eat things we don't want even more. We really couldn't do without them. They just look different to us, but once you see them as allies, you'll realize that a jumping spider is the cutest little thing in the world with those big, baleful eyes. Okay, I'm done. Hi Deb, I have a question. This last week I made your Tibetan Jasper and it turned out beautifully. I plan to donate it to a silent auction my church is having. But my question is about alcohol ink and clay. I also follow Steve McDonald’s arts and crafts and he has done a very detailed study with alcohol ink and acrylic resin and shows that the colors completely degrade in sunlight. And it doesn’t really take very long, a couple of weeks. Do you have any experience with that in polymer Clay? I love the colors but I have never tried to expose them to sunlight and see what happens over time. Just wondering what you know about that?

    • @clayboutique
      @clayboutique  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve heard that alcohol ink color can diminish over time, but I’ve honestly never tried it out. My guess is, that the UV resin will protect it, but I’m not 💯 certain. All I can suggest is do what you’re doing…I’d be interested to get results back from you.
