He’s not trolling for praise but, as a 70yo myself, it’s mostly a degree of surprise & gratitude that I’ve hit that milestone. Recall as a 20-something thinking 50 was the beginning of ‘old age’… now it’s 75.
You don't yell at the conductor of the orchestra during the opening bars of Beethoven's 5th "heard it." The audience is there to listen, but there is always someone at the show who wants to be a part of the show and if this is their contribution to the show then they really need to work on their line.
Heckling is as old as comedy itself. It's part of the culture of comedy and if you can't handle some heckling as a stand up comedian, then you're not a real comedian at all.
Comedians being compared to emergency room shit, seal team 6, or anything like a life or death profession is so delusional. Jerry you're a funny guy, you're not deciding life or death. Sad to see the world has lost the late great Jerry Seinfeld up his own ass.
You didn't listen. Just because he writes material every day, doesn't mean he keeps it. The purpose of writing everyday is to exercise the muscle. But he's never claimed that the material he writes every day is good enough to use. He will write it down, find the best parts, then work on it. Sometimes for years. This is actually normal for comedians. Go listen to Norm McDonald talking about writing comedy. He says the same thing - he works on a bit for a VERY LONG TIME.

Jerry’s problem is he reuses the same bits for years or sometimes decades. Most of the top comedians these days are completely throwing out their act every year or two and starting over from scratch.
This idea of new material every year is a new age thing Back in the day Comedians would work bits Not because they “work” but at an attempt to perfect them. He is not “reusing” them he is working them
jerrys the only standup comedian, who would say about himself - " i had this great bit, it was fantastic, just really great bit" - no comedian talks about themselves that way

Everything he said is accurate. Totally can relate to this as a comic. So true.
Greetings from Florida 🐬 Thank You Graham ✨ for Sharing 💕 this interview with Jerry ✨
We ✨ Luv the Beautiful ❤ Room and Decor 👌
Looking good for 69 years old Jerry :-)
All that children's blood
This is a clip from 93
@@klobberdude - most certainly is not. He discusses a heckler from a show in 1993, though.
@@MrJayehawk My mistake. Wasn't just the title though. I think I've seen him before this where he looked older. Appologies.
Remember when Chosen Jerry was 40yo dating a minor openly? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
Great interview, go Jerry!
I feel like this was part of a Master Class of Life
That poker bit made me laugh 💪
I didn't find what little he said about it interesting
Jerry is without a doubt at the top of his game, and always has been. I caught him at the Beacon a few years back, and it was incredible. Love the point about the cadence of comedy being a lot like songwriting - he's spot on. Him and Chappelle are in many ways extremely different - but you can see that dedication to cadence and rhythm in both.
Only Jerry Seinfield would compare being a comic to being a Navy Seal lol
He didn't. He said that both persons have adrenaline. Do you think your body produces different kinds of adrenaline?
Do you know that the #1 fear is speaking in front of a group of ppl? And the 2nd biggest fear is death?
@@jomojojo6603 Thats not what he said at all
Try standing on a stage in front of thousands of people and being funny for an hour and lemme know if that makes your adrenaline rise
To be fair he was clearly joking around lol if you were to ask him in all honesty he would laugh and say obviously it’s not being a navy seal. You literal fool.
Did you catch his HILARIOUS poker joke that took years to “perfect”?
I LOVE listening to him talk about Comedy!
Those hair plugs are looking good
Today youtube offered me a short and it was jerry imagining what it was like if he was married to kramer and i was like, oh wow this is comedy this will never be less than hilarious, this is art, this will be around in one hundred years
I’m a musician and find this totally relatable
Fantastic interview
“I spoke to Chris rock yesterday” imagine being able to say that so casually
😳
Really good practical wisdom for performance artists.
“Seal team six,” really? Bahahaha.
i know right LOL imagine thinking being a comedian is the same as an ER doctor or SEAL team dude. what an insane thing to say
@@youtube_fantastic he was only referencing the intense "not knowing what's coming next" aspects
in no way was he equating his importance with those people - he's simply saying that it's dealing with things in the moment.
@@stevencramsie9172 Yeah it’s so much like a mission and not knowing it you are coming back. I hear you.
@@MrJayehawk Sure babe, he doesn’t think he is “next level.” Where do people like you come from? Never mind!
Golden information for anyone who wants to be happy and successful.
Is he doddering?
I’m not ready for this. I’m not.
Thursday’s “Must See TV” was just yesterday in my mind.
Not ready for him to be doddering.
Get it under control, Jerry.
I’m feeling fragile over here.
Don’t do me like that.
Jerry sounds like he's been dippin into the benzos a lil bit lol
Stop saying “I’m 70!” And expecting a compliment in return. You look and act like 70. Stop it.
He doesn't look or act 70, let him celebrate it
He’s not trolling for praise but, as a 70yo myself, it’s mostly a degree of surprise & gratitude that I’ve hit that milestone. Recall as a 20-something thinking 50 was the beginning of ‘old age’… now it’s 75.
The funny thing is I read this post in Jerry's voice.
He makes comedy sound like rocket science and an art at the same time. Guess that's why he's good.
Those full shakes makes me wonder if Jerry has parkinsons
Love you Jerry; enjoyed the video 👍🏻
You don't yell at the conductor of the orchestra during the opening bars of Beethoven's 5th "heard it."
The audience is there to listen, but there is always someone at the show who wants to be a part of the show and if this is their contribution to the show then they really need to work on their line.
To be fair that
would kill
@@notquitehim Imagine yelling "heard it" at an ACDC concert, you'd be trampled.
Heckling is as old as comedy itself. It's part of the culture of comedy and if you can't handle some heckling as a stand up comedian, then you're not a real comedian at all.
@@OTR392 We're debating the quality
@@truthlifefishing1730 So am i.
Love this thank you 🤍🤍🤍
Comedians being compared to emergency room shit, seal team 6, or anything like a life or death profession is so delusional. Jerry you're a funny guy, you're not deciding life or death. Sad to see the world has lost the late great Jerry Seinfeld up his own ass.
He's just talking about adrenaline flow type stuff. Relax.🤦♂️
Great interview. Jerry is a great interview. Lot of wisdom and comedy too. Why is he aging more slowly than me??
Diet, genetics, and possibly lower stress than you.
He's a very wealthy man.
He talks about coming up with material every single day. He keeps the same jokes for like 10 years. I don't know what he's talking about
You didn't listen.
@@zoeherriot oh ok thanks. Just saying for the amount of writing and work he does he doesn't come up with that much material compared to someone like Louis CK
@@chrisbrown2211I agree with you, he should have had more sets on record for us to hear as prolific as he is.
I remember when Chris Rock was putting out a banger every year or so for a while there.
@@morganneher8643 I've seen Jerry 3 times years apart and the set was almost the same each time.
He is probably the most propped up “comedian” or celebrity we have out there. His body of work is the thinnest yet he is the most wealthiest comedian out there. How is that? The only thing he speaks of is that stupid sitcom of his that is not that funny yet it is termed as “the greatest show in the history of Television”. My TH-cam feed in the last few days is full of these interviews I guess to push his new movie. He tries to be so academic about his so called “process of writing jokes”… but with very little output in terms of specials, or works that are new and fresh and really funny.
So on point. The mood in a poker room SUCKS and it's laughable how serious people are in there
Jerry looks great but he is shaking a lot. Makes me worry about him.
I hear ya, but look at the weird arms on those chairs. You either have to squish into it, or rest your arms way up high. Try to sit like that and move normal. Check it out . . .
I'd love to see Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Burr discuss the creative process. Both seem incredibly quick., It's hard to believe they take months and years to develop a bit.
Dude magically grew hair, amazing!
He's growing hair like Stalin
@@warrenschwartz5653 which guy?
@@warrenschwartz5653 "looka like Stalin!"
Great interview
Did he seriously just compare stand up comedy to seal team 6?
It's exactly the same thing..no difference whatsoever. I think that's what he said 😝😊
His weapons are Jokes🤣🤣
He compared adrenaline to adrenaline.
Lighten up.
It’s called comedy.
I love how Jerry treats comedy as a serious affair, but still seems to be enjoying himself immensely.
Jerry’s problem is he reuses the same bits for years or sometimes decades. Most of the top comedians these days are completely throwing out their act every year or two and starting over from scratch.
Jerry views himself something along the lines of "The Beatles of comedy" where he can re-tell his favorite "hits" over and over again.
This idea of new material every year is a new age thing
Back in the day
Comedians would work bits
Not because they “work” but at an attempt to perfect them.
He is not “reusing” them he is working them
This kind of made it into the show. Remember Jerry wanted Elaine to come out to a show and she asked if it was new material.
jerrys the only standup comedian, who would say about himself - " i had this great bit, it was fantastic, just really great bit" - no comedian talks about themselves that way
Bania
Yeah the dude is full of himself and also a well known dbag
I hear lots of comedians talk like that. Especially when referring to hecklers destroying their bit. The whole point is to demonstrate the stakes. FFS how hard is this?
Then you haven't been listening
yeah , all comics are really humble
