    Thank you for being one of the only streamers not crying about things that don't cater to them in this game and instead playing the game the developers made. Warzone catering to streamers "advice" destroyed the game and now thoes same streamers can't stand the game "they created". I hope this game stays the way it is so we can play it on console one day.

    This game does look fun, although I think the graphics looks slightly off. That said I do foresee one issue for console players. The looting speed is going to be WAY slower and it will put us at an advantage if needing to loot on the fly and adjust in between battles. We will see. I’m excited though.

    I don't know about that take, man. Gear fear is real during the run. Fairly decent runs can have a high degree of terror when faced with enough pressure. I think having enough insured slots is a fair tradeoff for stiff competition and high enough difficulty. Otherwise, players who plateau under the highest level of skill and difficulty may infiltrate with nothing at all. Too much hardcore makes for an unfun game because it excludes or punishes too many players too harshly. Some players really are talented, and that's something that can't always be made up for with experience and skill mastery.

      Well said!

    • @JimmyCrackorn
      @JimmyCrackorn 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@seanpauli9423 Thank you! I've been trying to get across that we can't gatekeep games with skill gaps and mechanics that play into the most popular play styles all the time. It allows for those elite in those categories to dominate and call the shots, making for an unfun experience for everyone else. The game becomes drab, as everyone is forced to play it the same way, regardless of the promised variety, because the biggest players want it that way. And what they don't care about is how it was actually made.
      As entertaining as Loochy can be, this is a big reason why I tend not to watch his content. He's one of the players who treats DMZ like BR. But DMZ is separate from BR because it's primarily objective based. BR is tuned for clearing the lobby, and it's *the* victory condition. DMZ is tuned for survival, and successfully extracting is the victory condition. What content creators aren't understanding is that their lobby clearing habits are exactly why DMZ is failing. They defeated the purpose of the mode, so the majority of players just play BR so they don't have bots to contend with while battling it out with other players.
      Player hunters always ruin my enjoyment, and I always stop playing even when I beat them and exfil. They constantly ambush me and my time while we're trying to accomplish something, we never get it done, I don't make any progress with my unlocks, I didn't gain any exfil streak, so I've only wasted my time. That's not fun. Advancement is the primary objective of DMZ. Why play it if I'm just going to be stuck in the same place for half a year?
      What they don't realize is the first extraction shooter was Ghost Recon 1's Recon mode, made by Ubisoft. That mode had no PvP. I even looked it up to verify that, and I could find no mention of PvP anywhere. PvP was separate. Therefore, classic extraction isn't competitive, it's collaborative. We don't avoid PvP because we're bad at the game. I beat player hunters regularly. We avoid PvP because we don't want to deal with the stress; we simply want to relax and enjoy the game with friends. Some people are exclusively solo players, and PvP doesn't suit them because they have to learn via trial and error without enough free time to invest in that. And some other people are purely objective oriented explorers who can't handle the constant distractions.
      Games are supposed to include and give joy to as many people as possible. There's no such thing as too fat for basketball, too thin for American football, too slow for soccer, too weak for golf, too short for volleyball, too impatient for Chess, etc. There's a lane for all of those people in those games. Jumping in DMZ and kicking everyone else out of the game is the elite gamer's "Whites only sign." It's pure gatekeeping. That's why DMZ is an afterthought for Activision. They're wasting money on a mode that can no longer fill up enough servers to justify keeping it operational. Player hunters scared everybody away. It's no fun getting one's teeth kicked in by a bully while trying to complete a goal that's required for unlocks. Unlocks in BR are turned towards play time and experience in that type of combat. DMZ's unlocks are tuned towards mission completions. If those missions aren't completed because player hunters keep sabotaging those players, the purpose has been lost and bulk of that player base evaporates.
      The biggest mistake they made with DMZ was not copying The Division's Dark Zones. That feature is why The Division and The Division 2 are still online today.
      I'm so glad you appreciate my comment. The more players understand and accept this reality, the happier we can all be.

    I’m glad you’re enjoying the game, Phix. But without vehicles, verticality, and larger maps (these look like 1/4 the size of Ashika), the overall “fun” and action of this is a bit flat. And watching the menus and inventory management is rough. Just from a viewer’s perspective.
    I enjoy DMZ. I also enjoy Ghost Recon Wildlands and Breakpoint. Much cheaper to pull the trigger on my controller than go to the range and pull the trigger on one of my ARs.

  • @Nezie22

    I watched the into and have a comment. For many, there is gear fear in DMZ because for many, regains aren’t as easy as it is for seasoned pros. A guy like Phix can go in with nothing, take a bot gun, kill a squad and be fully regained. So for a guy like that, I agree, there is zero gear fear. For those that aren’t as good at PVP, regaining isn’t as easy and there is gear fear, especially if you play solo. I will agree DMZ took it too far with the wallet and contraband size. When you have a million dollars and 50 contraband weapons, you can go in and have everything right away. Having said that, I’ve completed 100% of the missions (other than disguise missions) 3 times now. I just started my fourth. Why? Because starting over with nothing again makes it challenging and I have that fear of losing because I don’t have anything. I do a lot of it solo as well so with the majority of the map only wanting to kill me, I still have that feeling of fear being alone and not wanting to die and have to regain solo again. Bottom line is people’s opinions are based on their abilities in a particular game. This game does look like it has promise, however I don’t see that magic that DMZ first had.

      Super well said. I just tried to make the same point, but I feel like you were much more concise. There was PLENTY of gear fear in DMZ for someone who worked all day and just wanted to hop on for an hour at night and play on his console with his other console friends from college before they had to log off and give their kids baths. Playing for that hour and never actually finishing a mission because all the sweaty PvP drove me away from the game. I wish they had made 2 modes. One super causal, and one sweaty, and we could pick which one we wanted to find lobbies in.

    2:37 maybe I just suck at the game, but how is there not gear fear in DMZ? You spend most of a match doing a mission or whatever and get killed on your way to extraction… not only did you literally just waste 20 minutes of your life, now you have to spend a good portion of your time re-kitting in the next match before you can resume your mission or even worse, set out to try to replace rare items perhaps you needed for said mission. And who’s to say you don’t get killed during the regain and have to start that over? That’s what drove me away from DMZ as a casual player… constantly feeling like there was no point in trying as a casual because of all the “professionals.” Heck, even being able to turn crossplay off and actually find an Xbox only lobby would have been helpful in that regard, but after like season 3 that went from slow but possible to just non-existent. Yes… I’m Billy with a controller and console. I’m the definition of a casual player. But I paid the same amount of money for the game, why shouldn’t I get to enjoy it on the platform I chose without that putting me at a disadvantage? So I’m just confused when you say the gear fear makes this even MORE of a casual game… it takes it from a game to a job, which I already have one of. I don’t need another. I want to log on and just play and have fun, not have to constantly do this two steps forward two steps back dance and get frustrated. Maybe extraction shooters just aren’t for me. But I thought DMZ would’ve been a lot better if the devs made it a challenging mission or series of missions to unlock the 3 plate vests and backpacks, but once you did, they were equipable from the deployment screen. Sure, take my items if I die, but having to start over with vests and bags just got in the way of the fun, and that’s why I stopped playing ultimately. Same with the insured weapons… just let me play with the gun I want to play with. I spent all that time leveling it up only to get to use it for 10 minutes a night and then having to play with crap contraband. And since I don’t seek out the PvP and am more mission focused, of course I don’t have good contraband that I’ve taken off someone. You are a heck of a gamer, and I’m sure your opinions are well thought out and based of experience, but as a “professional” who’s really good, I think that experience gives you an altered perspective than a casual player… I mean, if a pilot has 10,000 flight hours in a certain plane, that is very well respected. I think I heard you say you have over 5,000 hours in DMZ? In less than 2 years… so, for you, the gear fear keeps it interesting, so to speak. But for a real casual just trying to play the game and not make a career out of it, it makes it not casual enough. Not casual enough is frustrating. Frustrating is the opposite of fun. The game is supposed to be fun. That’s just my perspective and experience. No one has to agree with it. Regardless, great work on the videos. They’re super entertaining and always classy and humble, not like some other streamers who are full of themselves.

      If you thought DMZ was too hard to play casually then you should probably stick to MP or something way simpler. If you think DMZ has gear fear and not casual enough 😂 this game is definitely harder so its not for you. It also helps if you have a modicum of skill to play which it seems you don't because DMZ is nowhere near as hard as you make it out to be...

      @@RuggedCreative Yet you want a game that you don't have time to play to be watered down for you, so its more enjoyable for you at the expense of everyone else, is that what your saying then? Cause that's what it sounds like. Obviously these style games are not for you because you have admitted you don't have the skills or the time to improve your skills to play it properly, and that's a you problem, not anyone else's champ.

    • @RuggedCreative
      @RuggedCreative หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@yobgow 1) there will never be a perfect game. Someone will always not like something. 2) games used to be about having fun. I don’t know when to enjoy a game meant you had to dedicate hours to it… Activision gave the sweaty players Warzone. Not good enough, they had to come bully DMZ. Even Phix has said multiple times this is not how DMZ was designed… so I’m not as wrong as you think. It was designed primarily as a mission based game mode with a PvP aspect. Emphasis on aspect. It turned in to full out PvP. That’s not a me problem. That’s not even a you problem. That’s an Activision problem. I paid the same amount of money for the game as you… why shouldn’t I get to enjoy it? I’m not saying they necessarily need to water it down to cater to me at the expense of everyone else… I’m not a hypocrite… my whole point is as many people need to enjoy the mode as possible. Which was up to Activision and they failed. A) as I said, they gave PvP players Warzone. The PvP “professionals” had their game mode... but that wasn’t enough. Talk about catering to one niche. Activision could’ve nerfed the PvP in DMZ to make it a little more inclusive, and left the PvP to Warzone, but they didn’t. B) they could have let you choose to turn crossplay off. That alone would probably have been enough for me to enjoy (Technically you can turn it off, but it never actually finds a match). It’s no secret mouse and keyboard players have huge advantages over controller players. Phix makes this comment often himself. Just allowing me to not have to play against PC players every match would make the experience more fair without having to change a single aspect of the game itself. You’re on my case about watering the game down at peoples expense, but that works both ways… “champ.” Try the let’s-not-be-a-condescending-prick-to-the-guy-who-actually-just-wants-to-casually-play-a-game shirt on for size and see how it fits you… you can have your opinion about the design of the game without simultaneously disrespecting others. Like does my opinion threaten you somehow? It shouldn’t, but I’m not exactly sure why else you’d feel the need to try and be haughty. Unless you’re not good at a lot except video games, then that might make sense that you’d try to flex there. That’s honestly neither here nor there to me though. Why? Because we’re talking about a freaking video game. If you feel the need to try to dunk on someone over a digitally created simulation… you may need to readjust your priorities. It’s meant for entertainment. Do I wish it were different and think there were missed opportunities? Yes, and I’ve voiced that, but ultimately, who cares? It’s just a game. You can keep it. I’d much rather focus on my business, my family, traveling, living life, hunting, fishing, flying… you get it. So I’m not a talented gamer… oh well.
