0:56 - That is one hell of a show, the best Tesla coil show I have ever seen... I like how fast they quickly take turns lol The switching from one another is just ridiculously fast.
I think the power draw is only dependent of the repetion rate and the ramp duration. Which note is played (modulated on each ramp) during one ramp does not matter. @4asRlab: I am right?
All brought to you through the research of Steve Ward, the original developer of the DRSSTC. I got to watch the original prototypes in action at the Resonance Research's Cheesehead Teslathon in Baraboo, WI. RIP D.C. Cox! The original prototype could arc 15+ feet at under 2400W input. That gives an idea how efficient these coils are! Don't know if they've become easier to tune than the originals, but it looks like they have.
Thats true. I work around tesla coils flyback transformers and Such. QCW coil is the only Type of tesla coil i never buit as i built SGTC SSTC and even DRSSTC. that last one is complicated enough to give me a fricking headache. Never tried QCW and i dont feel like trying after doing some research in this direction...
What are those red vertical circles with a peak in the middle that appear? If you pause it at the right moment during 1:02 you can see one on the right while 3 of them are arcing.
Insanity meets harmony…remember the old RCA commercial with the old guy sitting in a really low recliner in front of stacks of subwoofers?! I see that but with OG badass Nikola Tesla! …(martini glass blown right in his hand) 🤘😎😝
about 5000$+ each coil. So with the external interrupters and the interfaces everything ready to go is gonna go out at like 25000$. QCW DRSSTCs are a super nice thing but they are complex and complicated to make which makes them extremely rare considering the fact that almost no one ever sells one
@@4asRlab Thanks for your response. Phase shifting was my guess after viewing some of your videos with just one qcw coil. Do you have more informations about your setup?
These sound very different from the regular DRSSTCs…these actually sound like a square wave instead of a solid buzz like regular DRSSTCs. Probably it has something to do with the long pulse cycle
This incredible. Absolute madness.

Amazing show, that gives a really good effect with the bright flashes and more damped sound. Im off to the lab to build 4x QCW!

I watch this video all the time, and it lives rent-free in my head. I want to meet this guy who made this.
Super awesome man. I have never seen such high break rates on a QCW. That's got to be some monsters power draw on the high notes.
I think the power draw is only dependent of the repetion rate and the ramp duration. Which note is played (modulated on each ramp) during one ramp does not matter. @4asRlab: I am right?
Yes
How are you audio modulating it? What is your ramp time? If your ramp time is 10mS, then you’re limited to 100Hz before you go CW lol.
@@alexhanyuan he modulates the signal onto the ramp
What is the break rate for this video?
Редко оставляю комментарии, но это правда потрясающе!
This gave me chills. The sheer pulsed power!
AMAZING!! I would LOV to see a few cuts from 1970's "Switched On Bach" records! CHEERS!!
This song is really lighting the mood ;)
I love the audio quality of those tesla coils. I only saw a small number that sound so good.
This is amazing, the synchronizations between each look very good 😍

This is why TH-cam is great, I can thirst my hunger for entertainment with people playing music on lightning bolt machines.
I love the inclusion of the Gravity Falls theme haha!

Song from Shraviti Falls
How is it possible that the secondary coil is so short but the arcs are so large?
near perfect tuning and high power?
@Clayton Fischer man I can't remember what it's called either
it's because its a QCW coil. QCW coils have much more complicated circuitry which allows for significantly higher power through the secondary. SSTCS
Theese different sound depend on what frequency the tesla coils are running at. Awesome music effects, thanks😊
How are you achieving audio modulation?? Are you modulation the pulse ramp?? What's the basic mechanism?

Do you produce the ramp with a buck converter or by phase shifting?
phase shifting
@@4asRlab Thanks for your response. Phase shifting was my guess after viewing some of your videos with just one qcw coil.

we have buck convertes in some other coils and its capable for music too. here is buck th-cam.com/video/PQ9mhbj66gk/w-d-xo.html
At 1:07 there is some sort of vortex over the right coil, whats is that?
btw nice band :D !
Very cool! did you put some different salt on the electrodes because of different color flashes?
definetly
How to make it sir
That was impressive! :)
How to build this???? I have a qcw drsstc but its super quiet. How large electrolytic capacitors did you use?
you need to modulate your ramp with sound that you want. capacitors are about 10000uf at 310vdc supply (bacause mains is 220vac here)

Why is one of the arcs red at the breakout point?
i was thinking of the same thing too!
i think there's some sodium(sodium chloride or ETC.) at breakout point
PVC electrical tape at breakout point
@@4asRlab that Red light is caused by burning PVC tape?!?! it's very bright.

I don't even know what am I watching

Do you just feed in the sine wave in the buck converter or do you modulate it on the ramp
What sine wave?

This one is modulated by phase shifted fullbridge, there is another high repetition rate QCW coil like these on his channel that is buck tho

Okay maybe you guys laugh about my question but... That sound is that caused by those electro flashes or is it just music playing simultaneously.
Electric discharge is modulated with sound frequency. There is no other sound sources used
