- Well this was fun! We set out early for this surprise clean.. my auntie Dawn got the keys to her new home on Friday.. we arrived Monday morning at 8am. She had no clue we were coming, when I approached the door she was in the porch putting the dog's harness on! Luckily she was looking the other way I set the cameras up, and knocked on the door. Scared the life out of her, but dad's entertainment was the icing on the cake.

Everything/ trees, bushes, etc., were severely overgrown. Great job in tidying it up.

The first shrub that had to be cut back from the wall...where I also cringed...I had to do the same to the identical shrub at my house in May...I thought it was a goner, but here it is June and it's new growth is full and beautiful. Can't speak for the tree, but it will probably have all new growth and be manageable.

Oh, be still my heart, your dad is the first person I have seen who actually trims a bush correctly, from the bottom up!!! I was very very happy to see that! I loved his elf outfit. Give the saw to him! And never cut more than a third of a tree at a time. So sorry, Ben, you can clean driveways any time, but I will do the pruning myself! So kind of you to give this gift to your aunt!

Yeah, went a bit heavy on the Bay Tree. The Lavender you ripped out near the gate might have recovered and be careful pruning Euphorbia ( 2.34 ) it releases a milky sap that will sting if you get it in your eyes. Merry Xmas/New Year to all. 🍻

Dad Paul slays me every time! Just when I think he's reached the pinnacle of his silliness, he tops himself and proves me wrong. I'm beginning to think he has no limits! 😂😂
What a difference! The cleaning revealed all those pretty colors, but I think the biggest (and most unexpected) improvement was in all the trimming! So much airier and more spacious! I was amazed at how overgrown it turned out to be. It hadn't looked like that much to me before you began and then wowsers!

There seems to be no end to the crazy paving drives & patios in your neck of the woods. Whether or not you like them, one things for sure, they've lasted really well over time, still as solid as when installed, especially once you've cleaned them to unveil all the coloured highlights that make you wonder about how tastes & trends have changed

I tend to read the comments before watching and I thought this was going to be real bad in regards to the plants. That was very overgrown and hadn't been looked after, also you have the right to remove any of the neighbours plants in your yard, having said that, they will all grow back and some would have very much appreciated the cut. My thought was I hope your Aunt has just moved in as if this was done before the property was sold I'm sure it would have added value. Thanks Ben and Dad 😅

My thoughts exactly, way too severely trimmed back. 😢 the clean up is always excellent though. I personally would be upset if they were my plants as the garden has lost its mature character.

The fatsia japonica got a hammering too... I must admit i almost switched off witnessing those plants get mutilated but i had to remind myself that many people have no interest in gardening and I hope the bay tree recovers...
I have to agree, watching these type of channels, loads just cut stuff without even considering that it was better before and you can't or should just mutilate plants to show a concrete edge. Trimming yes, but this is too much. I get that many times they do it for people that really can't look after their plants but this obviously wasn't the case. Sad.
I always wonder if these guys on these channels have any real gardening or landscaping experience because they just butcher trees and hedges. I do love the parts where they pressure wash everything, though.
Not to mention cutting back a euphorbia with no gloves. Hope they didn’t get blisters.
