When they first made an audio adaption many years ago, Brian May refused permission to use Queen music, because he was miffed about the joke. He's clearly forgiven them by now, because he gave permission for this Amazon series as soon as Neil Gaiman asked.
3of the actresses from last season is playing other characters here in season 2 because Neil Gaiman loved working with them. Shax the Demon played Madam Tracy. Nine and Maggie played nuns
All demons seem to be associated with an animal, usually not one that humans consider attractive or "good", sometimes with that animal stuck to them. E.g. Hastur (who was in season 1) looks kind of like a toad and has one on his head, and Beelzebub's animal is obviously flies. Crowley's animal of course is a snake (his snake form, the snake that tempted Eve with the apple, was seen in the first episode). Crowley got off lucky overall because his human form turned out very nice looking.
