You guys have tested the entry level hikari in another video. I’m running the hikari ultra bulbs and have been really happy with them. I would like to see how they compare to these bulbs! If they’re better, I will upgrade to the winning bulbs on all my cars!

I have putco nitro lux in my 2016 f350. They are way brighter than stock. I did a side by side comparison on a 2015 f350. The difference was very noticeable. next go around i will try one of LEDs you suggest but i am really happy with Putco.
We've had hit-and-miss results with the Putco Nitrolux. In some headlights it does well, In other applications it just doesn't quite perform. That's a big reason why we do this testing! -Chris W
New to the channel, have you guys ever tested the F150Leds headlights for the 2015 to 2020?
Please test the new Auxbeam F-16 plus H11 in the 2018 F-150 stock housing. I installed them in my 2018 and I keep getting flashed like I have my high beams on and they do seam to run much higher then the stock halogen bulbs. they are substantially brighter then stock and replaced my old Auxbeams which the drivers side burned out after 11 months. Thanks !
Any idea his the GTR compares to OEM LED headlights?
The SV4 is still the winner even though it was not the brightest but it had the best pattern. Notice the “cut off” and reduced “spill” of light above it. It’s also the closest to emulating the stock pattern. To use the other lamps you are that “A” hole that wreaks oncoming traffic’s vision. Projector type lenses respond the best to the conversion, but every headlamp design is different. Some are lousy to begin with and adding a upgraded lamp just makes it a lot worse and may be inviting a well deserved ticket.
Check your pattern before and after than if it’s acceptable make sure your vertical adjustment is correct because it’s not unusual for an LED to raise it. On level ground with a full fuel tank, your beam should be continuously be descending.

I like what yall do, but you should have tried putting the dust cover back on with that bulb you put in. It's not easy. Great video nonetheless.

I'd like to see your recommended *passive* cooling bulb. Both your recommended GTR and previously recommended S-V4 bulbs require fans for active cooling, and anyone with a computer can tell you it's only a matter of time before those fans fail, then bye-bye bulb, where half the point of an LED bulb is supposed to be its longevity.
This video is two years old now, so there have been updates.
My guess is these LED lights are all made in same or related OEMs in China. They’re all better than halogen. For me the main concern is not so much the brightness- they’re all pretty close - but the compatibility with your specific vehicle. Car computers get confused, triggering error codes and requiring Can bus modifications. But if you know what you’re doing, LEDs are an amazing improvement over halogen. Makes you wonder how we got along with those dimly lit bulbs for so long.
What do you do about error code?

@@rudydaberry122 I installed these in my 2003 Ford Expedition without needing a module or decoder. However on a 2018 model it may be different.

There are many housing options available.
Interesting...when looking at the sv.4 for my 2020 F150, there's now a disclaimer box on the website that needs to be checked. Seems the H11 low beams and the 9005 high beams aren't available unless you check the box that basically states "I'm not using these on the street". To be fair, this isn't a knock on the vendor. It sounds like they're just covering some legal bases, as vehicle lighting is a big part of safety inspection in many States, and is often highly regulated. To be perfectly honest, if these LED headlights are fully functional, but are so bright they push the legal limits, these are the headlights I want.
This is due to DOT restrictions. Any aftermarket LED or HID kit is not DOT compliant.

How is the fitment of the sv-4 on the 2020 F150's? I'm looking to upgrade from stock, but I'm extremely critical of any aftermarket parts I install on my truck. I don't do "it works ok, except..". It has to be 100 percent plug and play, with no other permanent modifications, or interference with other factory components. The sv-4's carry a substantial price tag, but the price isn't really an issue if the quality is legit. Do the dust covers for the high and low beams re-install without any interference issues? Any known radio interference issues? The sv-4's seem like the go to for the F150, but I'd like to know if the fitment and performance is 100% legit.
They are the go-to bulb for the F150. They fit great and function perfectly. I ran them in my own F-150 for over a year before switching to the Morimoto XB headlights.
I have the S-V4 on my ‘19 F150. Very happy with the brightness and pattern. I would highly recommend from my install experience, take the wheels off if you have the ability to do so.

David Dorge They are 2 esperare bulbs. The high beams are actually the easier to reach and the housing is more centered with the bulb socket. For those reasons the low beam was a pain in the tail without removing the tire.
XMVlogZ Fog lights are a piece of cake. The low beam is the toughest the get to.
Dumb question probably... but what about the high beams? Do you leave those stock? I just got a 2018 F150 and need to upgrade the bulbs.
That's entirely up to you! Most people that upgrade the low beams will also upgrade the fog lights and high beams as well.
One other thing, I think y'all may have mistakenly listed the same lux of the S-V.4s as you listed for the GTR Ultra 2s, 1140 lux, yet the Ultra 2s are claimed to be 417% brighter vs 307%.

when going from a factory bulb to and LED is it just the bulb that get changed or is there more like and there is when u use HID's
It's just the LED, you won't need a ballast or relay unlike an HID kit.
If you replace the low and high beams, should you also replace the turn signals as well? Or can that stay with out looking overpowered by the LED's?
It’s a matter of personal preference honestly. I love the look of the LED front turn signal and wouldn’t go without it, But that’s just me!
I doubt you'll answer this but how does the stock halogen compare to the Ford OEM LED in Lariat etc? I'm trying to decide if it's worth changing my LED for Morimoto XB but I can't find the answer anywhere
The OEM LEDs are a very bright LED housing, and they may even be technically slightly brighter than the Morimoto XB LED Headlights. The real kicker here is that the Morimoto headlights have the LED projectors, and that will allow them to more properly direct the light down the road! I would reocmmend making the switch, you really can't beat it especially with all the other features you get like that sequential turn signal!

I place I do business with recommends the Bright source LED kit. Looking on line it has some crazy wiring kit that connects to your battery with some anti flicker kit. Seems way to complicated and sloppy, any idea on these kits?
Haven't tested these before! Sounds like a pretty standard relay harness though!
At 7:16 it shows the box attached to the light also enclosed with the light housing with the dust cover then put back on. Correct me if I am wrong but I thought the box attached had to be on the outside? Tia

Hey guys, this test only shows a headlight outside of a car. I've been through many on my 2012 Ford, and this test doesn't show how it will react with your cars CanBus system. Will you lose Drl's
Will it shutoff after a few seconds? Will it throw faults, and will it stay on while switching between modes? I haven't found one yet that runs like factory.

I was extremely excited to purchase these lights. I saw this video 2 months ago and went to buy them today and discovered they weren't street legal. The last thing I need is to get pulled over for lights; super bummed.

@@MrKdog818 Plug and play. Although the turn indicator inside will flash rapid, the actual bulbs outside are normal. I have been very pleased with mine. Think I basically did my whole truck for less than $150

LEDs produce a ton of heat. Wouldn't there be a high heat buildup inside of those housings with the fan crammed up against the dust cover that tight?
Most LED's produce significantly less heat than a halogen bulb. Some LED bulbs with fans do have that issue, but when we build our vehicle specific LED kits, that is one of the things that we test for. And we have yet to run into that issue with any of the LED bulbs that we sell.
Any new update on fitment for the 2020 F150 low beam, heard the dust cap was hard to install and needs modifications.

The low beam OEM dust cover will not go on as you can see in the video they post they don’t put it on because the low beam isn’t in the center of the bulb opening. The 80mm covers that you get with the new bulbs won’t fit either due to the truck frame being in the way. I spent all this money and I’m not happy about it.
You said you were going find out if it was still the best bulb for the truck, but you didn’t talk about the previous winner. Is the HID still the best for low beam?
Also can you do a comparison of of the bulbs vs XB vs Alpharex vs whatever else you can think of?

We have, They don’t perform that great in these newer vehicles.
How well do these led bulbs heat the actual housing of the light? This factor is actually quite important when driving in snowy weather.
For something like that you would want to go with the Morimoto 2Stroke 3.0. They were designed with heating up the lens in mind!

You don’t specify what way the end of the bulb needs to lock into on the front, horizontal or vertical, once it’s locked in place?
You'll want to ensure that the LED chips are facing directly left and right!

Technically no, but I don’t believe you’ll get in trouble for it.
Please make a video replacing the high beams. They have that metal grooved "washer" instead of the turn & lock style for the low beams. I cannot find any led high beams that work with that "washer". I'm driving around with stupid ugly yellow halogens because of this.

The GTR website states that these LED lights are not DOT approved and are illegal to run in licensed vehicles that run halogen lights. Can you clear this up? I would really like to have more light driving out west on those dark state roads. Your test are very helpful in making an informed choice!
They are unfortunately not legal for street use, this video was made before that law changed. We can get you set up with some offroad options if you would like, otherwise you will have to go with halogen bulbs. Let us know if you have any other questions, have a great day!

I really like the videos but how is the gtr ultra 2 110% brighter than the sv4 if they are both 1140 max lux?
I was scrolling, looking to see if anyone caught that and I see someone did. Both are 1140 lux but the GTR lighting bulb is roughly 110% brighter than the SV4? Something's not adding up.

Headlight Revolution by putting the dust cover back on will that hold in too much heat? Like will it effect bulb life? Increase risk of melting or damage to housing from the contained heat in any way? I hope that makes sense how I asked those.

How is 1140 Lux from the Ultra 2 a 417% increase over stock , while the same Lux (1140) from the SV-4 only a 317% increase.
Gregory T it might just be an error with the editing on the video. He didn’t actually say what the maximum lux was on the GTR bulb, just the percentage.
Edit: it’s actually several mistakes... the S-V.4 is 407% brighter than stock not 307%. 4.07x280 is ~ 1140. So that was a typo there.
The GTR is 417% brighter than stock which makes it 1167 max lux.... another typo.

Your low beams will take the H11 bulbs, and your high and fog lights will take 9005 bulbs!

I adjusted my headlights to your video specs, an still constantly got brighted, I actually took out my low beams and put the factory bulbs back in for the time being
I installed the GTR led bulbs in my 2018 F150 and the headlight lenses are fogged up all the time now, does anyone know why??????
Did you install the dust cap cover after replacing the bulbs?
@@HeadlightRevolution The low beam cap doesn't fit perfectly, because of the increased size of the bulb fan section, but i got it in as far as i could.
What about crystallux g11s?

It’s also illegal across the us to install in halogen housings. If the vehicle housings were led from the factory then yes but to retrofit them on a vehicle that’s not off-road only is not for compliant and illegal. Look it up before you comeback at me. It’s almost 99% beam scattering and blinding to traffic cause they scatter the beam! And no one adjusts the better ones to not blind as much to but illegal is illegal and should not be promoted as a thing to do. Oh and dot laws are United States laws nationally not state specific so it’s nation wide illegal

Lux is definitely NOT the best way to tell how bright a light is. Lumens is. A dollar store laser pointer would have a higher lux than any LED but would be a terrible headlight since all that brightness is at a single point (which is all lux measures). Lumens measures total light output.
Nayr747 but lux is important because that is light measured at a point. The better the lux, the better distance projection you will get.
Lumens tells you nothing about what the beam will do at distance.
The "Like" is for the proposal to remove the wheels first...I see all these videos for the F150 (18-20) and I wonder why people are too lazy to remove the front wheels to do the job professionally without bending the liners and of course having much better access. Dilettantes...
