- Automatrics set off to find a stolen mini excavator located in Cumbria. No GPS signal is being received so an RF location find operation is needed. The cell location find operation canfrom the Automatrics MTrack theft recovery tracking system can be more challenging in rural locations as the cell transmitters cover a wider area.

Are you able in the future to tell us roughly where stuff was stolen from? (as in stolen in London, recovered in Sunderland etc).

This is happening in Australia a lot, I think insurance companies should offer these to clients to ensure there vehicle has a better chance of been recovered if stolen. And maybe a pepper spray system in a vehicle for the thieves to enjoy while they are stealing our hard earned property.

Have you considered mounting the RF receiver on a drone, and slowly sweep 360 degree from some height? With yagi antenna, you should get long distance and directional signal, allowing some triangulation.
I'm pleased to hear that the police were actually able to find one by investigating the situation. Need lots more of that. Plus maybe a bit more personal security on behalf of the victims, but at least its coming home. I think of all the stolen cars and machines that are never recovered and the victim will get a depreciatted compensation from the insurance and its just a lose lose situation except for the criminal. I know why I enjoy these. It is because of a special deep loathing for thieves. Most stolen goods are not recovered but if an arrest is made and goes to court I have never seen a thief excuse themselves to the victims or show remorse for their crime. Murderers have been known from time to time to realize the horror they have commited and sincerely feel sorrow for having done it and accept their fates but thieves just don't seem to understand what hurt their crimes can do. And maybe my opinion is BS, but it comes from a lifetime of observation and not just brain storming some novel like Philip Dick on LSD.
I've got the same loathing for thieves. Need to know if they wound up behind bars. I'd like to hear about that.

A brit stole my friend's van, police caught the cunt, but court let him go. The guy had 76 previous convictions for thefts, burglaries, driving with no insurance, drunk driving, you name it.. and they still let him go. If he was a foreigner would be on top of every newspaper, but coz he is british, they let him go.

The courts are effectively supporting crime. Crime of any sort, as long as it is good for business.
the Number Plate sticker? is that something that could also be placed in a more hidden spot to. Have the main one(s) visible. but have smaller ones some where hidden.
A classic episode this one. I note that you did not really need to drive around Keswick if you were already heading for Cockermouth nice little scenic diversion though , were you trying to follow Google maps? No you wouldn't find any cops around where you were going to they would have to have travelled from Workington or Penrith. Extremely funny ending of no prosecutions isn't it ? Haha! The man in the pub would have to rescind what he said to the copper and come out and say he did not know it was stolen only that it had its id plate ripped out and he found it or something. Marvellous.

Well that's a surprise. I moved from East London to barrow in furness due to work. Yes cumbria can be really remote in places. Cold and wet most of the time, so happy u recovered the digger. Surprised the police found it tho. As how remote cockamouth is lol

There was a fair few locals got locked up for this. Part of a gang attacking the local cash machines

The biggest machine that was stolen other here was 10 years ago, a Caterpillar 627B Twin Engine Motor Scraper, a low Loader pulled up to transport it, none of us thought anything out of the ordinary, never seen it since, 35 tonne machine gone

Right now our 2018 products haven't gone the Thatcham certification route. We are still considering the merits of this.
The problem being that the new 2018 Thatcham S5 and S7 standards are in our opinion too low and rigid, with all systems basically designed for GPS tracking only (all tend to function the same way due to the rigid specification).
Automatrics and the Police lobbied Thatcham for a points based security theft recovery standard but they thought it too complicated. Instead they reduced their 10 security workforce team to 2 and took a back seat.
Thatcham don't specify the need for or additional merit for any fallback location systems where GPS is not possible.
As you may have noticed from our channel GPS on its own has security application weakness.
Virtually all insurers do accept Automatrics systems in their own right for any vehicle as we have the best recovery performance in the country

Where can I find out prices for getting a tracker for a c63?
If you google automatrics you will find the website. I have three automatrics trackers and have found the company very efficient to work with and the trackers are small enough to conceal easily (similar size to a box of swan vestas)
