Shinri's already been taken out of context and it's great that you made this clip where if people find it, it wasn't cut short. He's not badmouthing anyone as he's just stating his views and feelings.
If he wants to find someone that's more aligned with him for him to feel completely 100% comfortably to collab with then he can do it and it's his right to do so. Yes, even if it gets to where he can't agree or find someone else to collab with.
Importantly, as a viewer, first and foremost, I'm there to watch and listen to Shinri because I like him and his content which is up my alley. I'm not there as a viewer to dictate what content he should do.
EDIT: I'mma add this here, too. I also understand the intention of the clippers but I also don't like it when they use thumbnails that also includes other vtubers that aren't originally a part of the conversation. While this may look bad on Shinri, again he isn't being mean or rude to anyone about his statement. Sure, his explanation may have not come off great but some people who clearly don't watch him have highly started to try and make him look like the evil one who has no respect for others which is definitely not the case at all.

      @kiabpaj ปีที่แล้ว +33

@@moonshiro I saw a few posts on twitter already twisting Shinri's words. I mean, just look in this comment section alone. You already have someone literally using the word "hate" on Shinri purely because Shinri is too seiso for their taste meanwhile comparing him to vtubers who they watch are unseiso that's up their alley. If that's what they like then that's fine but to use that as a comparison to "hate" on Shinri just because of how he felt and tried to explain his reason? That's not a personal opinion anymore when you go that far.
EDIT: Just to clarify for other people in what I meant. Yes, you can dislike Shinri because maybe his voice, content, etc. isn't for you. That's totally fine, totally understandable. That is your own personal opinion. What I find that is not a personal opinion is when someone become disrespectful, insulting and making rude remarks that leads to zero objectivity.

It's hard to bring that up or critique about it without people freaking out, so I'm glad he was able to address this subject the way he did. I don't think tolerance is the right word, it's not like he's in pain or uncomfortable, he loves his guild members and his generation and he doesn't suffer when he does collaborations with them
If it was like that he wouldn't have done collaborations with them and that's not the case, you can see in their collaborations how much he enjoys and have fun.
Bettel also made it clear early on that he is not into jokes and lewd sentences and is very true to what he said
Flayon is also very cute in his personal streams and collaborations, he is the most energetic one most of the time and he jumps from topic to topic and things flow and so does Hakka. They all flow very well together.
The only times things like this come up when they're drinking, and even then uselly Bettel is the one that dont do those jokes (its a funny thing that the funny man is the most hinged and seiso (all of VG and HQ agree and 2th place is a debate) one even when drunk) or when people who talk more about such topics like Axel and Magni are in a collab, but again Shinri doesn't suffer, He says himself that if he is uncomfortable he either ignores or says something, and I strongly believe that if it comes to that the boys will listen, you can see how much they care and love each other, in stream and in chat when the visit one of the guys streams.
VG are balancing well one another and Even if you don't bond with the other guys, try not to put them down to bring up Shinri and Hakka
Even if you didn't mean for it to be read like that, it kind of feels like that's what you're doing, so just to let you know

I agree with shinri like theres no right or wrong in doing content and not everything needs to copy others but also i think forcing to do lewd jokes for the sake of clout(?) would be stressful
For me since i have lots of "seiso rep" oshis, lewd jokes is fine if not 24/7 or if the delivery is good that makes it really funny.
I do have oshis like rikka, suichan and sora where u won't hear that much of lewd jokes yet i still enjoy their content. For sure shinri too ofc but timezone..

There’s nothing worse than seeing a streamer you care about force them self to make jokes they’re not comfortable with or feel they need to change how they talk depending on the person they’re collating with. It’s reassuring to know Shinri is vocal about his boundaries and Every Colab he does is something he wants to do.
ALSO shinri bringing up the trend of reusing the same jokes over and over again for multiple streams for the sake of vitality can be so exhausting having to sit through, especially when Chat brings it up again as well trying to feel involved with the streamer.

i really respect how principled shinri is with his content. when it comes to any form of entertainment really, there's often a status quo or something that "works" but isn't actually all that entertaining. any resistance to that, i'm all for. i'd love to see more story-focused creators in the hemisphere of popular vtubers.
i'm sure that there are some creators that really do sacrifice their real personalities or interests "for the sake of content," but i think vulgar humor and more nuanced content can definitely coexist. in my opinion, it's more a matter of the creator and the audience regurgitating those "clippable moments" to each other until the image of the creator has been simplified to only dirty jokes, even when that's not necessarily true. in situations like that, the perception hurts everybody.

100% agree on everything he said.
I used to watch some other vtubers when I first found out what vtubing even was - because, 'holy shit I didn't know this was a thing, this is so friggin kewl' - but... once it became clear that this was their shtick and not a now and then thing, I decided those particular groups weren't for me. And if it's someone else's thing (which clearly is) then thats fine too. To each their own!
Pretty much as Shinri said - from my perspective, it's funny now and then, but... not when it's all the time. It gets excessive after a certain point. I'd want to be comfortable enough to able to share clips and streams with friends and such (which I have, often) without worrying about the content and how off-putting a comment or joke would be - as well as just just being able to watch without thinking, "ugh, really?" or "Could you not?".
Don't get me wrong, I'll laugh at those kinds of jokes if executed/timed properly or if it's now and then (I'm not THAT badly a prude x_x), but not when it's over-enthusiastically and opportunistically abused...
I get that at that point those vtubers aren't meant for me or my demographic (the quieter, introverted, over-30 hill...) and are for a younger group or of like-minded sense of humor, and that's fine... so it's nice to see someone NOT going down that path to be noticed or liked by their viewers.
A vtuber I can watch/listen to and not feel weird about! \o/

The EN Vtuber scene is so over saturated with Vtubers that make lewd jokes so seeing someone that doesn't make lewd jokes all the time is a breath of fresh air, so I'm glad that Shinri is sticking to his style of streams, even if it doesn't get him as much clicks as the others it's admirable that he'd rather be known for his content instead of just having a weird sense of humor. (this also applies to Hololive/Holostars as a whole)

I'm reminded of how I had a lot of fun watching that one time when Shinri took down Axel in Pummel Party. Axel is my top fave VTuber, especially thanks to his dudebro personality alongside his singing abilities, and Shinri isn't someone I easily watch even as I appreciate his lore enthusiasm and reflective chatting, but Aniki being my top fave also means wanting to see him get taken down a peg or more when he's at risk of getting too wild with his antics, and Shinri made it even more fun by cutting his leniency on Axel with such great timing. Seriously, it's not always bad to be different from your faves and have disagreements with how they work while still learning and doing your best to healthily support them. It shows that you're really trying to be your own person while letting others be their own people. Having a fave doesn't really mean being your fave, but helping yourself and your fave be your respective best.

He's describing like 90% of vtubers out there lmao, especially Nijisanji. But as a whole, this is a huge problem with the indie vtuber scene and when it comes to small corpo companies as well. Edgy humor, lewd jokes, etc., just a bunch of immature stuff that they use to get clipped/get attention. I don't mind that type of content from time to time, but like if that's your personality 100% of the time then yeah I just can't watch that at all lol. I really like how HoloPro doesn't use that type of humor/content all the time. And even when they do, they get creative with it so that it's not stale. I blame this on clipping culture as well because they're so guilty of just taking clips and making them out of context/clickbaiting. I wish there were better clippers out there who didn't do this, but I understand that it gets views and makes money, it just really sucks that it's this prominent. But hey, whatever floats your boat. Everyone has different tastes and what not. Thank you for clipping this, it was really interesting to hear what Shinri had to say, especially the part of him talking about growing and maturing over time.

Friendly reminder that this is the same guy who was WHEEZING while claiming "I almost let go of my c0ck" while holding a chicken in the hilarious Tempus' Ranch Simulator collab.
The guys really have a bad influence on this man. 😂

That reminds me of my favorite joke of that nature from Shinri in that same collab:
Hakka as Rancher Shinri's Son: "Papa, you ever wonder why Mom left us?"
Rancher Shinri: "Nah, I know exactly why Mom left us."
Shinri saying that answer with the looks that he has is what sells it to me.

@@CaptainFracture ye, it's all about tone. the Ranch Simulator collab was already set up to be a jokey silly stream, so jokes like that don't feel out of place at all, as opposed to someone making them during a horror game or something.

if being based was a crime, shinri would be locked up for life.
i relate to this so much as someone who has a holo kamioshi who’s chat has started going way too far with having lewdness overshadow their character and skills imo to the point where i am barely motivated to show up to some streams live. it really sucks as you can’t really go about 10 mins without them being put out of context or seeing nearly their entire audience suddenly spamming “YABAI” or “AYO???”… this is a bit of a rant sorry lmao but i’m so glad someone has finally broke the silence

I would like to see more general funny clips than just horny or "reacting/interacting with" clips too. I know people like to see what others think or react to the horny or other people, but when the only clips out there are clips that don't actually hold substance like high effort projects or bits... It takes away from the content of a streamer, if that makes sense

Clickbait unfortunately gets to every fanbase. Hololive's biggest clips back in 2019-2020 used to be way more varied and didn't use clickbait. I remember how big Aqua and Shion's Neighbor Wars were way back in the day. You'd never see something like that blowing up nowadays. Now, the best performing ones are just those "X can't stop laughing" or "X what did you say?!?"

Personally I'd like to see more "Holomem talk about/do random stuff" clips than anything. Funny, horny, cute, those are nice but it removes their human-ness and make them feel like anime characters than real humans with their own thoughts and emotions.
Recently I watched a clip of Botan cooking an ostrich egg... And I can't believe it but I actually learning something watching it lol. Ngl I was shocked when I saw no one else clipped it.

Y'all gotta understand most Vtubers and their fans are 100% on board with the "cute girls doing cute things" stick, no amount of coomer bashing is gonna change that.

    • @HudaefCares
      @HudaefCares ปีที่แล้ว +3

@@Sheriff_Curtis No one's coomer bashing. Horny moments are funny too. But it gets tiring when 1min or 30sec "haha horni moment" is all we get from a VOD that probably had even funnier moments.

That's really fair imo. I'm cool with lewd jokes myself, I mean Iofi's my kami-oshi for goodness sake. But as Shinri said, you gotta know the time and place for it, and personally I don't think I would be an Ioforia if Iofi crack the lewd jokes 24/7 myself. If she randomly start to do that, I say most likely I would start to think that she can't think of anything but sex all the time and cringe hard because of it, so I really can see where he's coming from and respect it.

    Respect
I dunno if its due to my upbringing but i never really gravitate to vtubers or streamers whose selling points is being vulgar or lewd that's why my oshis on holo are mostly singers like Sora, Azki and Moona and chill streamers where you can just play one of there streams or zatsu on the background while doing something like Mel (her voice is calming), Bae (it feels like having a little sister and Korone (doggo energy is infectious)
With the boys I always play either shinri and Altare's stream while playing TOTK these days
