I think HAM is lucky his car wasn't checked as well. Because driving an underweight car explains at least some of the raw pace the Merc had today. That's it and now let's move on to the next race.

I am not doing so over such exciting racing between two teammates - however, rules need to be applied, and even Verstappen has to abide by them, and so does Russell, even though he is Hamilton's heir apparent. Not really. There has to be a limit and if you’re under then you’re under. No matter how they set the rule, teams will try to be as close to the limit as possible, so even building in a tolerance wouldn’t help. And if there was no limit then they’d all go as light as possible and weight would become the determinative factor in the racing.
